    As soon as Steve stepped inside his apartment, he knew something was wrong. Someone had been there. Perhaps he should've cut and run right there - he knew the dangers of his profession. He knew that journalists didn't enjoy the same protection as cops did, and Steve had been reporting on the same serial killer for months now, most likely getting on his radar. But he couldn't stop. The Winter Soldier didn't just kill his victims...Steve had seen the crime scene photos. The beautiful carvings. It was art work. Gruesome, terrifying, diabolic art work.

    And now, the same man he'd spent months researching had come to find him. Steve was scared, but more than that he was...excited.

    Or; Steve is a journalist reporting on a serial killer with a special relationship to his knife, and that serial killer comes asking questions about Steve's particular obsession.
