Work Text:

The first notes of a melancholic acoustic guitar begin to float through the windows, followed by a melodic voice.

Vincenzo looks at him, “Do you know how to dance?”

Han Seo shakes his head, “Not to those songs.”

Vincenzo gets up. He stops in front of Han Seo, bowing at waist, head facing the soil, but his dark eyes are up, watching. His left hand sits on his lower back while the right one hand stretches in front of him, open in invitation, “May I have this dance?”

Han Seo’s cheeks are warm, “I might step on your toes.”

Despite his words, Han Seo’s fingers interweave with Vincenzo’s. The brunet drags Han Seo closer, till their chests are touching, hearts separated by bones and flesh. A hand settles on Han Seo’s lower back. The other one rests on Han Seo’s ribs, fingers splayed open.

He regrets not wearing a shirt. Vincenzo’s touch is warm, almost burning. His hands, soft skin that feels like silk, dance across his hip and back, teasing, exploring before picking a position.

“Follow my lead,” Vincenzo is dancing slowly, dragging Han Seo after him. It’s not a complicated dance, not like the ballroom dances that Vincenzo knows. It’s two men dancing in a rented villa, dancing to a song drifting through open windows. It’s two lovers swaying to the sorrow of a voice describing a love that the gods themselves felt envious of.

“It’s the story of a love,” Vincenzo begins singing slowly. His voice is soft, barely above a whisper, an echo following the original song. “Like there will be no other,” he keeps going, “That made me comprehend all the good, all the bad, which brought light to my life, only to be turned off.’

Vincenzo stops singing, letting the next lyrics go by. Then, as the song goes towards the last notes, he picks up, “And I can no longer see you, why did God make me love you? To make me suffer more…”

The sound of a synth replaces the sorrowed voice, marking the beginning of a new song. A tenor with melodic reflexes begins a new story and Vincenzo hums, following the words.

“And every night I miss your antics,” Vincenzo sings along, a smile coloring his tone. His eyes are set on Han Seo’s lips, “It’s becoming clear that I am still poisoned by you.”

Han Seo closes the distance between them, stealing Vincenzo’s next words with his lips. As their kiss grows deeper, the song changes once more. As Vincenzo recognizes the first words, his mouth twists into a smile.

“I’m dedicating this song to you, love.”

The nickname makes Han Seo blush, coloring his cheeks pink.

“Nothing’s going to change my love,” Vincenzo mumbles along with the song. It’s a promise, a statement, a fact.
