Work Text:
It was something obvious to anyone who watched those two. As much as Kazuha and Tomo did not exchange those words with each other, it was not as if that exchange was something really necessary.
The small actions of everyday life spoke louder than any cliche declaration of love could ever do.
A blanket put over their shoulders, a serene expression watching the other sleeping, a random suggestion about everyday things... but neither of them spoke those three words to the other.
If Tomo was asked when that had started, he couldn't say for sure. At some point it had become natural to have Kazuha by his side. The idea of being separated from the other was simply painful, and it was also something he didn't want to imagine at all.
Kazuha also could not tell the exact moment when Tomo had become such an important part of his life. He only knew that it was something gradual, and by the time he realized it, he had already been captivated by the other's habits. Not that he wished it had been any different.
The two did not exchange promises of love, much less bold kisses under the full moon.
It was a hug, a look, a headpat. Promises made late in the night after a bottle of sake. A suggestion out of the blue of a treat for Tama.
The little signs were piling up and painting a scenario unlike anything Inazuma's poetry had ever described before.
And in the middle of all those signs, there were the two of them holding hands, with their matching bracelets and promises on their lips.
The words "I love you" were not spoken, simply because they were not necessary. The small actions told a love story all by themselves.
Entrusting their backs to each other was more than a sign of trust. The winds that swirled with electro were one more beat of that symphony that only the two of them knew.
But for those two, that arrangement was perfect. It was more than enough. The warmth of affection in the small actions brightened their days and made everything more beautiful and pleasant.
Only those who didn't want to could not see it. Words were unnecessary. The looks they exchanged said it all:
"I love you and I know you love me too. And we don't have to say that out loud for the whole world to know that."
