   “BAT!” I screamed.

   He turned, eyes meeting mine over his shoulder full of something I never expected to see in them. Fear. He moved two steps back, curling an arm around me and forcing me into the cold material of his suit, the cape wrapping around me like a shield. “Goodbye,” The Riddler sang as the bomb exploded.

   Batman’s body pushed back against mine forcing us both off our feet. My hands clawed at him, ears ringing as my head slammed into the ground and he fell on top of me. Everything was hazy as my eyes strained to stay open. I could see his black figure turn, his hand grabbing the side of my neck to pull my face toward his. My head stung unbearably, itchy and wet as the darkness in his eyes consumed me.
