A Day at Hogsmeade

Summary:

All Renjun wants to do is sleep. (Un)fortunately for him, Jaemin and Jeno aren't going to let that happen.

Notes:

Happy Belated Birthday to Levlies889! Hope you enjoy this! And to those outside of my target audience, please keep in mind I know literally nothing about this band or these people. Have fun reading!

Work Text:

T’was a normal day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Typically, one would see students rushing to their various classes, often with a piece of bread in their mouth as they stumble down the stairs. Today, however, was the start of the weekend for the residents of the castle.

Now, one would imagine that students will take the time to unwind with various activities. Some would play Quidditch, others talking in the courtyard, etc. However, there were some who instead chose to catch up on some rest. One of these students was a young man in the house of Ravenclaw.

Renjun smiled and waved at the crowd in front of him. His solo piece had taken Hogwarts by storm at this Yule Ball. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his friends cheering him on at the end of the stage. His smile grew large when he saw Jeno and Jaemin with them, making a bigger scene than the rest of them, as usual. He started to walk over to them when-

“Wake up, Renjun!” What?

“Wake up!” Is Jeno blind. He’s literally on stage right now.

“Wake up!”

Renjun opened his eyes, and saw Jeno right in front of his face.

“Merlin’s saggy balls!” Renjun cried out, jumping back. He hit his head on the one of the pillars for his bed, and rubbed it as Jeno started laughing. “How’d you get in here?”

“Your entrance’s riddles are ridiculously easy to answer,” someone else said. Renjun rubbed the sleep out of his eyes to find Jaemin standing at the foot of the bed, examining his nails nonchalantly. Renjun glared.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

“I’m a Slytherin, Renjun. I find ways to get around these sorts of things.”

“Piss off.”

“Oh, come on, Renjun!” Jeno exclaimed, dragging him out of bed. “We’ve got lots to do today!”

“It’s Saturday?” Renjun said. “A time for rest and sleep?”

“Not with us around, mate,” Jeno grinned, “We’re going to Hogsmeade!”

“I want to sleep, you two,” Renjun groaned. “I had an all-nighter studying for a Defense exam.”

“Sounds like not my problem,” Jaemin deadpanned, smirking slightly. “Feel like you wouldn’t need to do that as a Ravenclaw.”

“How about you, Jeno? Wanna help me out on this?” Jeno hummed and shook his head. “What the hell, I thought you were a loyal Hufflepuff!”

“I am loyal… to the cause of us going out!” Renjun looked back at Jeno, feeling very exasperated all of a sudden.

“Fine. Just let me change into normal clothes,” Renjun acquiesced, ignoring Jeno’s whoops of excitement. He turned back to his chests next to the bed, but then realized something. He looked back at his friends, who were still there. “Do you mind?” This was accompanied by a hand toward the door.

“Not really, no. It’ll be a fine view,” Jaemin answered. Jeno shrugged in agreement. Renjun felt his face turn beet red and shook his head.

“Out with the lot of you!” He pushed them out of his room and shut the door to change.

Once Renjun was in his regular clothes, the three students set out to Hogsmeade. The day went as follows:

First, they went to Dominic Maestro’s Music Shop. Jaemin took a look at the piano, while Renjun tried to find the latest single from the Weird Sisters. Jeno immediately made a beeline for the harp and started playing with it.

“Jeno, stop messing around with the harp,” Jaemin said, not looking up from the piano.

“But it sounds so nice!”

“Not when you’re playing it!”
“And I suppose you know so much about the intricacies of music, Jaemin? Remember I’m in the frog choir.”

“That has no correlation, Jeno. A frog and a harp are not the same.”

“Eugh, ‘ a frog and a harp aren’t the same ’, be quiet, Renjun.”

“Make me.”

StRuM

“OW! That’s so dissonant! You’re a hack of a musician!”

“You just don’t understand my artistic intent!”

“And what’s that?”

“To make you SUFFER!”

Once the trio was outside, they wandered around the village.

“Wanna go to Honeydukes?” Renjun asked, half-jokingly. Jaemin shook his head no, while Jeno contemplated it.

“Nah, too basic. We’re not like those couples,” Jeno finally answered.

“Mainly because we’re not a couple?” Jaemin asked.

“Yeah, we’re a threesome!” Jeno shouted. The other two blushed.

“No, I don’t think that’s the right term.”

“Threeway?”

“No!” Jaemin shouted.

“Throuple?”

“... Sure, that works,” Renjun turned to Jaemin, and he nodded in agreement.

Jaemin, in a rather uncharacteristic move, made the executive decision to pay a visit to Zonko’s Joke Shop. Renjun asked him why he decided they should go there.

“I didn’t go last time, and I hear there are some new items that are particularly powerful when used.”

“Ok, yeah, that’s fine and all, but I don’t think that’s a good thing when we’re here with Jeno,” Renjun gestured to the corner of the store, where Jeno was cackling uproariously while holding those new items in question. Jaemin blanched, and looked at Renjun.

“New plan. We get the hell out of here.”

“Drag Jeno?”

“If it comes to it.”

“Got it.”

Thankfully, the two sensible members out of the three were able to convince Jeno to leave the pranks for another time and head out of the shop, much to Bilton Bilmes’s displeasure at losing a potential customer.

Finally, the trio walked over to the Three Broomsticks Inn to get something to eat. Rosmerta greeted them warmly as they took some seats in a booth in the corner. Renjun was in the middle, with Jeno and Jaemin on either side of him. They ordered their meals with butterbeer, and started talking as she left to prepare them.

“Sooooooo,” Jeno started, looking at Renjun, “did you have fun today?” Renjun turned to him, and with the most dead expression on his face, responded with a resounding…

“No.”

“Come off it, mate,” Jaemin rolled his eyes, “we all know you had a great time today.”

“Alright, yeah,” Renjun smiled, “I guess this was better than sleeping.”

“Well, we’re glad you feel that way,” Jeno piped in, and then did something that surprised Renjun; he kissed him on the cheek, dangerously close to his lip. Renjun jumped slightly. He felt something on his other cheek, and realized that Jaemin also did the same.

“That means we get to have more of these outings without you bitching about it,” Jaemin continued, looking at him. Renjun suddenly felt the urge to fire back somehow.

“Unless you like me bitching about it, hmm? Then what?” Renjun watched as Jaemin sported a light blush after he spoke, and chuckled. He also heard Jeno choking slightly on air at the same time. “Anyway, food’s here!” He saw Rosmerta walking to them with their dishes. As the three friends(?) dug into their meals, Renjun could only think to himself:

Yeah, today was a great day.
