Sunflowers Grow At Night too

Summary:

It was hard to believe that two years had gone by and they were going strong. He was truly lucky that Rain had started pursuing Payu.

“Sweet bread and accrual reports….” Prapai murmured so low into Sky’s neck the younger man didn’t know exactly what he heard.

Notes:

Prompt: You brighten not just my day but my life.

Work Text:

Sky was very certain that he’d gone to sleep alone but now there’s a warmth against his back and a soft snore in his ear. He didn’t need to look but he knew it was Prapai. He ‘d been gone for almost a month to Taiwan and he wasn’t too thrilled about being away that long before he’d left. Despite not having to look it didn't stop him from actually wanting too. He felt a bubbling warmth in his chest when peering down to find their couple ring on Prapai’s finger. A simple titanium band with Sky’s hand drawn breeze engraved on it.  His own was the one that Prapai had drawn.

It was hard to believe that two years had gone by and they were going strong. He was truly lucky that Rain had started pursuing Payu.

“Sweet bread and accrual reports….” Prapai murmured so low into Sky’s neck the younger man didn’t know exactly what he heard.

“What?” Sky asked, trying to shift more onto his back but Prapai’s hold of him tightened, bringing back to being flush against his chest.

“Shh, you can’t tell Sky, Honey. He’ll count the stars and I don’t need him too.” Prapai whispered poorly into Sky’s ear.

Sky bit his lower lip to keep the laughter from bubbling out. “Oh why not?” Sky mused, knowing that his beautiful boyfriend had probably had too many herbal beers when he’d gone drinking with his client and their entourage.

“Because he’s my sky .” Prapai answered with a nuzzling to Sky’s ear. “The light of not just my day but my life, Honey. I mean you’re my milk bone but I’m a sunflower… should get a tattoo just to show others.” Prapai slurred sleepily as he must have drifted. He jerked as he snorted awake. “...and I need my sky.”

“And I need my sunflower.” Sky let himself chuckle. Normally he’d try to record moments like this but for tonight he’d keep this memory to himself. His boyfriend is a special man that loves so deeply. He found himself thinking once more how lucky he was to have met him. It was more than worth the growing pains that came with them getting together.

“Don’t eat the petals.” Prapai sleep slurred before softly beginning to snore again. Sky waited a moment before shifting around so that he was on his back. Prapai adjusted in his sleep so that he was flush to Sky’s side. His cheek resting on Sky’s shoulder. Sky turned his head to press a kiss to the older man’s head.

“Why not, when you’re cute like this.” Sky muttered, reaching over to gently smooth the other’s hair.

“P’Namtan called, Mr.Tang has rescheduled for tomorrow.” Sky said as he leaned against the doorway of their bathroom. Instead of showering, Prapai was in their tub. His eyes closed, too sensitive from all the previous night’s drinking. In fact the lights were dim. Sky was sure though that he just moved around from muscle memory.

“Thank god.” Prapai let out a heavy sigh. He really should lay off drinking so many herbal beers. That shit had a nasty hangover headache.

“Yep, now take this P’Pai.” Sky hummed as he pushed himself off the door frame to approach the bath. In his hands were headache medication and a full glass of water. “Drink all of it.”

“I am.” Prapai chuckled as followed his lover’s instruction.

“Here let me wash your hair to get the smell of cigarette smoke out.” Sky offered as he moved to sit on the rim of the tub so he could wash Prapai’s hair.

“Sorry.” Prapai frowned between sips of his water.

“Just as long as it isn’t you. I want you with me for a long time.” Sky hummed happily as he went through simple motions of dampening Prapai’s hair, getting their shampoo and lathering up those dark locks. Prapai moaned at the massage as he relaxed further against Sky’s legs.

“You could do that forever.” Prapai praised him even as Sky began to rinse.

That had Sky remembering last night. “Speaking of forever, I have a question?”

“Hmn?” Prapai tilted his head back to peer up at him.

“Last night you mentioned getting a tattoo. Is that something you’re wanting?” Sky trailed off as he saw the very familiar expression take hold of Prapai’s face. His lover was thinking about it or was in the works of getting one.

“There is a possibility I am.” Prapai answered carefully with the truth but didn’t offer more information.

“You’re getting it for you, right?”

“Yes -” Prapai didn’t hesitate to respond. That made Sky feel better about the situation. Prapai did a lot for him. He didn’t want Prapai getting a tattoo and it being trying to prove something especially if it had anything to do with him.

“Good.” Sky cut him off with a soft laugh as he resumed rinsing Prapai’s hair, “And yes I know it’s a bonus if I like it too.”
