Chapter Text
It was just supposed to be a silly little project, a weekend pastime of sorts. Kujou Sara wasn’t exactly expecting anything when she put up a confession board on their school page. Sure, there were going to be the snitches and the trolls — and of course, the latest gossip that she really didn’t give a damn about. People who otherwise would be too scared to say what they wanted to, now with the newfound mask of anonymity, now didn’t bother to hold back.
But oh, this — this was rather unexpected.

>> kujou sara, will you go out with me?
What?
To say that she was surprised was an understatement. Sure, it wasn’t the first time she’d been asked out; but it was a weird feeling nonetheless. She heard the door to her room unlock, and the person walked in, accompanying the clanking of metal from their bag. Sara made eye contact with her, the latter eyes wide.
“Didn’t think you’d be home yet.” Sara shrugged. “Didn’t have many classes today.” Her friend nodded, placing her bags down. “I’ll get changed then, see you in a bit.” And with that, she was out of sight. Sara frowned at the screen, spacing out. Ten seconds, ten minutes — she wasn’t sure just how long she was lost in thought.
“Whatdya doing?” Kokomi leaned on her shoulder, humming. Sara jumped at the sudden interruption to her reverie. She looked back at the screen on her phone, then back at the pink haired woman; opening her mouth just to be broken off. “Well, well — what do we have here? Ms. Kujou Sara just got confessed to! Well, what’s your answer?” Sara frowned in thought, her eyebrows pinched together. “I don’t know if I can have a reply yet, to be honest.” Kokomi stood straight and looked at her. “Why?” She shrugged. “Gotta know who it is, you know?” The other nodded in agreement.
Her thumb mindlessly scrolled the confession page. “You want to know who it is that bad?” Kokomi giggled, shifting her position to Sara’s lap. “Who wouldn’t?” She lifted a finger and poked her nose, smiling at Kokomi’s reaction. “Then ask them.” Sara was hesitant, and Kokomi figured with the ‘err’ that came out of her lips. “Or,” she paused, grabbing Sara’s phone from her fingers, “or I will.”
Sara watched as the woman on her typed, her little fingers moving fast on the keyboard.

She stared at the screen, then at Kokomi — who hummed questioningly — then back at it. “That’s one way to get the message across.” Kokomi snorted, and both of them burst into laughter, her soft laugh filling Sara’s mind. It was a weird feeling; like a tiny bubble in her head expanding ever so slightly. She paid it no attention, she’d deal with it when the time came.
“Sara,” she whined, “gimme attention.” She turned off her phone and placed it on the table, lying down next to Kokomi, taking her face in her hands. “You’re such a baby”, she cooed, squishing her cheeks. “Wanna watch a movie?” Kokomi’s eyes glittered at the thought. “Okay but,” she sprinted towards the laptop, “I pick this time.”
Sara rolled her eyes at her best friend. “You’re going to sleep in the first ten minutes anyways, how does it matter what you’re watching?”, she says, but tilts the laptop towards Kokomi nevertheless, the latter giggling in response. Ding ding ding! Her phone lit up at the notification, and she picked up the phone to see whether there was any response.
“One sec, I’ll just go use the restroom.” Kokomi walked out of the room, a selected movie on the laptop screen, leaving Sara in the company of her phone.

>> lmao 69
She huffed, rolling her eyes at the message. Okay, maybe she was a tad bit curious about who the person was. Who wouldn’t be, right ? But as her finger hovered on the home button, yet another notification sounded.

Sara put the phone down and hovered over the trailer of the true crime movie her friend had selected with little thought. Kokomi stepped out of the restroom as the trail came to an end, a slight jump in her walk as she hummed to herself. If anything, Sara found this behaviour rather cute — and all she wanted to do then was roll the woman up in a blanket and cuddle her. “Did you start watching already?” Sara shook her head as she moved over for Kokomi to take a seat. “Nope, I was just checking out what it was about.” The other woman hummed. “You like it? I chose it with a whopping total of one braincell.”
“It shows.” Kokomi elbowed her playfully, and the bed shook with their combined laughter. Sara moved to a more comfortable position, placing the computer on her thighs. The other woman followed suit, albeit lying on her side instead. Sara pressed start, and they both huddled together. They didn’t talk much, except for the occasional comment — but frankly, it was nicer this way.
Forty minutes in, even the minuscule contribution of commentary was gone. Sara tilted her head, just to be greeted by the sleeping face of Kokomi. Pretty. She didn’t know who was speaking in her head, but she couldn’t disagree. Closing the long-deserted laptop and placing it with her one free hand (Kokomi had taken free reign over her other, making it her very own pillow), she turned to her side, gazing at the sleeping woman in front of her.
She ran her hand through the pink hair — it felt like dawn clouds and cotton candy. She rested her hand around Kokomi’s waist, coming closer. Sleep crept up on her, catching up eventually. Her head begged to ruminate on the unfamiliar voice in her head that’d been acting up the past few days, but she wouldn’t heed its wish. Later , is what she consoled the wailing voice in her head with.
She’d think about it, eventually.
