Chapter 1: Shopping Chaos

Chapter Text

(This story takes place after Yoongi gets out of the Facility)

1º Shopping chaos:

Yoongi had no clothes. For the past two weeks, ever since he got out of the facility, he’s been using their clothes. They didn’t mind at all but it was important for him to get his own clothing, it will help build independence and identity.

Besides, they found out he had a proclivity for darker tones and Jungkook and sometimes Jimin were the only ones who shared that style, so the two maknaes were running out of clothes too.

They all agreed to take him to the mall. Yoongi wasn’t going to admit it, but he was excited to do so. The clothes at the facility were the same and he wanted to explore the possibilities and maybe develop his own style. Besides, Jin insisted he needed other stuff, like toiletries, bedding, and fancy stuff only rich people can afford.

Yoongi was overwhelmed. The mall was big and thankfully it wasn’t packed. They decided to go on a Wednesday in the mid-morning. And it didn't matter it wasn’t packed, the boys alone were pure chaos and the moment they took a step inside the building, hell broke loose.

First, the maknaes were bouncing a little bit, trying to drag Yoongi to their favourite stores. Then was Hoseok who had an actual list of the shoes he wanted to buy. Namjoon was excited about the little cactus display in the ecological market inside the mall and Jin was going berserker with the new collection of silverware.

Yoongi just stood there, praying to the universe to make it out alive.

He first went with his hyung. Jin was pulling a shopping cart inside the huge departmental store. They were on the whites section and Yoongi couldn’t avoid pressing his hands on the soft materials. He ended up adding some fluffy blankets and rugs to the cart. He had an idea of how he wanted his room to look and he was excited about the decor.

He almost had a heart attack when Jin shouted in surprise, “What do you mean you haven’t slept in Egyptian cotton?!” He asked outraged.

Yoongi simply shrugged his shoulders in confusion and Jin held his hand and dragged him to the right section.

There was a tall rack filled with different sets of linen and Yoongi’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets just by looking at it.

Jin went on a rant about which sets were better, about the number of threats in sheets and cotton and who knows what else. Yoongi couldn’t follow his explanation, too overwhelmed with the intensity of his hyung.

After 20 minutes that felt like years, Jin finally stopped his babbling and seeing the confused expression of his dongsaeng, placed his hands on Yoongi’s shoulders and directed him to the right section.

“These are the best, just choose any colour that you like,” he said pointing at the set of Egyptian cotton sets, “just make sure they have a K because your bed is king size” and with that, he went to look for some sets for himself.

Yoongi took his task seriously and ended up choosing two sets, one beige and the other a dark Oxford blue. When Jin got back, he helped him choose a duvet and a comforter. They got a message from the rest of the boys and they headed to the clothing section next.

The moment Namjoon saw him, a huge dimpled smile spread on his face. Yoongi gave him a distrustful look and saw how the man was hiding something behind his back.

“What is that?” He asked pointing at his hands that were concealed in his back.

Namjoon flushed a little, “something I hope you like,” he answered and pulled out some camel dungarees, “I like them, they are cute and I think you’ll look cute in them” he said and handed the clothing to Yoongi.

The panther was surprised and flustered, he’s seen Namjoon wreaking them in the past, but he didn’t like them. Even if he was smitten with Namjoon, he wasn’t going to wear them just because of it.

“Don’t even think about it!” he said and returned the clothing.

Namjoon sighed but took them anyway, “it was worth the shot,” he said. He knew the hybrid wasn’t going to like them, he always criticises Namjoon when he wears his, but he could at least try. Maybe he can convince him to get some fluffy sweaters.

Jimin was a menace. Yoongi was placing some denim jeans on the cart when Jimin pulled him away to the underwear section. Like Jin, he rambled about different clothing, materials and fittings, and Yoongi was lost.

He’s only ever worn the underwear provided by the facility and he doesn’t know if there is a difference. Besides he has to do a small hole in the back for his tail, so he doesn’t mind too much about it. As long as they are soft and comfortable, he is okay with whatever.

Thankfully for the maknae, Yoongi doesn’t know about luxury brands and the panther didn’t even register the names on the underwear. That is how he ended up with some Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren in his shopping cart. When Tae saw it, he was about to make a comment but Jimin quickly shut him up, Yoongi deserved the best, even if he wasn’t aware of it.

Yoongi was ready to kiss Jungkook. The boy showed him a pair of pants, they were black but it was clear they weren’t denim. Jungkook encourages him to try them on and Yoongi fell in love. They were soft slacks that looked nice but were extremely comfortable. The soft and stretching materials allowed him to move around freely and he was loving them.

Plus, they fitted nicely around his legs and ass and he was surprised when he saw himself wearing them. He looks good in them.

Jungkook helped him choose some more slacks in different colours and shapes and Yoongi never loved the maknae as much as he did at that moment.

Yoongi was convinced Hoseok had an off button somewhere and he was going to find it. When the sunshine pulled him to the shoe section, Yoongi was ready to pull out his claws and threaten the boy.

Hoseok was worse than Jin and Jimin combined. He was convinced the panther needed AT LEAST 15 pairs of new sneakers. Some of those were exactly the same but in different colours and Yoongi couldn’t believe him.

The moment he tried on a pair, Hobi was ready with another 3 pairs for him to try on. Yoongi appreciated the gesture and he knew the dancer loved his sneakers but wasn’t exactly a huge fan of them.

However, there was a particular pair that he really liked. They were completely black, with white soles and small letters written there, “What is Balenciaga?” He asked Hobi.

The human saw the pair he was holding and a huge smile of approval appeared on his face, “That is the brand hyung, those are a nice pair and they are comfortable,” he assured him.

Yoongi really liked them, they were extremely comfortable and they were pretty so he had no trouble adding them to his basket. He had to break Hobi’s heart by taking away the majority of the shoes he chose for him, too extravagant for his taste.

What he did like were the two sandals that Hobi showed him, one from Dr Martens and the other from Visvim, and maybe the panther could add the sunshine to his kissing list.

Surprisingly, it was Taehyung the only one that actually helped Yoongi. Being a fashionista himself, the photographer pulled the hybrid and started asking pertinent questions, “ what style of clothes do you like? What colours? Is there a particular combination you like? Comfort or style? Fitted or loose?… ”

Thanks to him, he found an array of clothes that he actually liked. He noticed that the majority were in neutral colours, mainly black, but there were some splashes of colour here and there, like a pair of hoodies in bright red and green, some soft sweaters in pastels, and shirts in lilacs and blues.

Taehyung had a field day, he enjoyed so much his day helping this hyung find his style and the panther even suggested going out shopping with him again.

They were about to leave the place when they had a small heart attack when the panther was out of sight. One moment he was there picking some shirts with Tae, the next he was nowhere to be found.

They started running around looking for him. They checked everywhere but no sight of the panther. Namjoon was ready to call the cops and place an amber alert -forgetting Yoongi wasn’t actually a child- when he spotted a pair of black ears in the distance.

He sprinted there and stopped in his tracks when he noticed what was Yoongi looking at. He was in front of music equipment, he was eying some computers, a MIDI controller, a small equaliser and microphones. Namjoon knew exactly what those were, he had his own producer phase back in college and he couldn’t avoid the small smile on his face watching Yoongi excited at the equipment.

He moved closer and Yoongi turned around to look at him. He was flustered and he look at the ground, “I just wanted to see them,” he said.

“No problem Yoon,” Namjoon knew Yoongi was a talented individual and if he could help him exploit his talent, he was ready to encourage him, “I know a little about producing myself, I can help you if you want,”

Yoongi’s eyes grew like saucers and his tail started moving from side to side, “You will?!” His voice was filled with wonder and excitement.

“Of course hyung. We can start with basic equipment,” he said and started pointing to different devices. He saw the hesitation and knew the reason why, “that is why you have saved all that money Yoon, now you can actually use it as you please,” with that, they spent the next hour and a half creating a music production set for beginners.

The rest quickly found them and they couldn’t avoid cooing at the cue scene. Namjoon quickly explaining some stuff and Yoongi looking like a child on Christmas.

It was an exhausting day for everyone. By the time they left the shopping mall, they were tired. On the way home, they stopped for some takeout. They happily helped Yoongi with his new belongings.

Jin helped him change his new bedding, the maknaes helped him fold and hang the clothes, Hobi helped with the shoes and Namjoon gave him a plushie for his bed.

The author found out that Yoongi thought Kumanon was a ridiculous character, so she decided to buy him one when he saw it on a shelf, just for the fun of it.

It was messy and chaotic, but Yoongi enjoyed himself. And that is what really matters.
