Work Text:
Victory was in sight as the Prisoner and Barmaid fled. The Sacred Heart Hospital had been torn apart with countless drinks, elbow pads, and broken pallets everywhere. The Seer was injured and was being helped along by the Mercenary, who had known him personally for a long time. They gave each other a reassuring look, knowing that they’ll secure a 4-man escape as they always do. They were a team, right? Surely they can make it out as they always do.
“Naib… I don’t think I can make it..” The Evil Reptilian was hot on their trail, at full presence and quickly gaining on them.
“Don’t say that, Eli. We’ll get out. I can take a hit for you!” Naib prepped his last pair of elbow pads, securing the cap on his head as he watched behind him for the hunter.
“Don’t be stupid! I’m on my last leg here, and Brooke can only take so much. Just leave me… we’ll still win even if I don’t make it out. Don’t risk yourself for my sake, I’ll be okay.”
The Seer sounded as if he was in tears, he didn’t want to leave his lover behind. This would be the first match of their time in the manor that they wouldn’t make it out together. They wouldn’t die, but it would feel like they would be killed if they didn’t escape the hunter. The pain of separation hurt more than the pain of being chaired, at least for them.
Unfortunately for the lovers, the hunter was closely approaching, and pounced on the Mercenary, who was slowly accumulating half of a lethal blow. “Eli.. get out of here! If I get chaired, don’t come for me!”
“Naib no! I’m not leaving without you…! I… I can’t! I don’t want to lose you!” Tears fall from beneath his mask, his hood slowly falling as the silver hair of the night owl reveals himself and the full extent of his sorrow.
But it was too late. The Reptilian had struck one final blow to the Mercenary, making him fall to the floor gravely injured.
“NAIB..!!!” The Seer exclaimed, running farther to the open exit gate. He didn’t want to leave his lover behind, but he knew if he went to rescue him, he too would suffer at the hands of the hunter.
“Get out of here… Don’t rescue me…! The exit gate is open!” Naib continually exclaimed as he was picked up by the large reptile man, being placed on the rocket chair not far from the exit gate.
“Naib… I love you. I’ll see you at the manor…” And with a final look back, he wiped a tear from his pale face before sending one last message…
“I’m outta here…!”
