Notes:

Soo here we are! I became kinda obsessed with these two and decided to write a story. English is not my mother tongue so I apologize in advance for all the spelling and grammar mistakes that you'll find in this story. If the characters seem out of character I'm sorry about that. Constructive criticism is always welcome :) happy reading.

Chapter Text

Staring at the board for almost an hour now Wednesday couldn't understand what she was missing. There wasn't a stone she hadn't turned, not a secret door unlocked and not a single suspect unquestioned and yet here she was in the middle of her shared room looking at the self-made murder wall full of pictures of crime scenes connected by thick red strings. Her side of the room looked like the office of a police investigator only much darker and sinister with her personal knife collection decorating her desk which Wednesday had managed to sneak into the school. The wall was just the cherry on top of her already horrifying looking room. She was quite proud of it.

She usually tried to ignore the other side of the room which looked like a unicorn had thrown up all over the place with pink and even more pink spoiling the walls and every inch of her roommates side. The initial shock she had experienced when she first met Enid and saw the state of the whole room was nothing but mortifying. Now under any other circumstance she would have loved to embrace the chills that went down her spine when that damn door first opened but this was not the type of horror she used to encounter. This was worse and Enids pink fluffy unicorn plushie made sure to mock her every morning by staring at Wednesdays cold soul. That damn thing also seemed to be invulnerable. The girl had tried to stake that damn thing multiple times with one of her precious knifes but Enid made sure that it was unharmed.

Threatening to expose her weapon collection to the headmaster was a low blow if you asked Wednesday but Enid had made sure how serious she was, so she had stopped trying to assassinate that abomination and now it was staring at Wednesday and the wall as if it was pointing out her failure, mocking her inability to solve this stupid mystery. Wednesday was losing her mind no question.

Enid was not helping one bit, asking more questions than answering them yet her absence was noticeable. Although Wednesday would never admit it she kinda got used to the girl. Her constant talking and stupidly positive attitude to everything was annoying at first but with time Wednesday realized that she was not as opposed to it as before. And now she was missing Enids unnecessary comments on this case. Enid had not returned from her classes yet and although Wednesday did not want anyone else working on these murders at first, she found herself surrounded by Enid and Tyler, the sheriffs son who was way more helpful than Enid no question, but for a reason unknown to Wednesday she did not desire his presence as much as the blondes.

Thing looked at Wednesday seeming just as lost as Wednesday.
"I don't know what we are overlooking, we should have solved this stupid mystery a long time ago but something is just missing, something is not right."
Thing climbed down the bed only to climb up to Wednesdays shoulder to tell her something only she was able to understand.

"No I am not obsessed with this I just want to find the culprit so I can concentrate on my other plans of escaping this hell place but unless I find out who is doing all these killings I can't do that". Wednesday was determined to find the murderer.

Enid was supposed to come back in an hour so Wednesday was kinda surprised to see the door slowly open only to see that it was not the blonde who had managed to sneak into the room, no it was Tyler.

"What are you doing here?" Wednesday questioned they were not supposed to meet up today so this surprise visit was unusual.

"Hi Wednesday! I know my visit is sudden today but I think I have a lead and I wanted to share it with you as soon as possible" Tyler said pausing expecting Wednesday to give any kind of reaction. He didn't get more than a slight eyebrow raise so he continued, coming closer up to Wednesday and the the murder wall.

Pointing at the precisely crafted wall he began to explain his finding.

"You know how all the victims had claw marks on them, it really didn't seem like something human was attacking these people. It could be an animal instead right?"

Wednesday was not impressed whatsoever. "Yes we know that already it was the first thing we noticed about these killings was this your brilliant idea because I must say that I'm quite disappointed..."

"No! no just listen that's not what I'm getting at I sprinted here so I could catch you alone."

This woke Wednesdays interest. Enid was part of the investigation so why was he so secretive about this information?

"Spit it out already" as patient as Wednesday was curiosity was way overweighting her patience right now.

"I think that the reason why we couldn't go further and why we are so stuck in this case is because someone might be actively sabotaging this investigation to remove their track." Tyler paused for a second before saying the words that Wednesday probably would not like at all.

"And I think that someone might be Enid."

A dead silence had surrounded the room. Wednesday was staring at Tyler as if is already big head grew a second one on the spot. The silence was definitely more uncomfortable for Tyler than it was for Wednesday. When the black haired girl finally said some words it was exactly the kind of reaction he had expected for her.

"Out of all the things you said this might be the most irrational and far fetched yet" she said with her monotone voice.

"No I know I did not want this possibility to be true but the more I thought about it the more sense it made. Just listen she is always around, she comes in question as suspect for the animal attacks, I mean she is a werwolf after all and her interest in this case has been really high for someone who doesn't even contribute to the investigation much don't you think?"

Wednesday was visibly getting angrier with every word the boy spurted out of his mouth. Why she was getting so aggravated she doesn't know.

"She can't even transform into a werwolf the most she can do is let out a pathetic attempt at an howl and even that is as intimidating as a puppy trying to bark for the first time. I have knives sharper and deadlier than her."

Tyler looked at Wednesday with an sympathetic face. "Yeah you might be right but I would not be so sure about her intentions. You should never underestimate a werewolf Wednesday even if they claim to be harmless, most of the time they are not. I mean how good do you actually know her?"

Wednesday didn't answer this time, her gaze wandering to the white-pink bed Enid had perfectly made this morning. Clustered with dozens of plushies it was nauseating to look at for the grumpy Addams but Enid loved it. Sticky notes with motivational speeches and poems decorated her wall, Wednesday would even find some of them on her side of the room. She assumed that they found their way onto her side on accident, the thought that Enid was hanging them on her side on purpose did cross her mind way too late. She had burned some of them into ashes before even looking at what was on it. The first time she did look however, she found a poem nicely written on a white sticky note. Wednesday would not admit it but the poem that Enid had written was in-fact not horrendous to look at. Enid seemed to even have the decency to put it on a white paper instead of pink or purple so the little sticky note was resting at the bottom drawer of Wednesdays desk. Sometimes she'll open the drawer to read it again and again

Her Grace is all she has -  And that, so least displays -

One Art to recognize, must be, Another Art, to praise -

Only to close it hastily as if she was scared to be caught with the little piece of paper. Wednesday liked to listen to classical music and read many different types of poems. She did not know who the author of this work was but it was good enough for Wednesday to keep it with her, no other particular reason she told herself.

Coming out of her thoughts she found herself staring at the tall boy again.

"I know she is your friend-"

"My roommate" Wednesday corrected.

Tyler looked kind of taken back but corrected himself.

"I know she is your roommate but maybe we don't know her as well as we thought".

Wednesday knew that what he really wanted to say was that maybe Wednesday was the one who did not know Enid that well. She was good at judging people based of their characters and motives but could it be that she made a mistake? Wednesday does not make mistakes never really has overestimated her own skills so to be confronted with this question about Enids morality and her being a potential serial killer was hitting Wednesday harder than she would admit. She decided not to say anything further, her thoughts going ahead of her.

"Just think about it okay? Maybe you are right and I'm just being over-analytical about this stuff. I should just leave right now Enid will probably be back soon so goodbye Wednesday."

Wednesday did not respond. Tyler sneaked out of the girls room looking back at Wednesday for a last time before leaving her alone with her thoughts. He would be going back to the little fence with the small hole that he used to go in and out of the Nevermore Academy. He didn't know if he made the right decision with telling Wednesday but he also did not feel bad about it and so quietly as possible he made his way back to his home.

_____

Enids class finally came to a finish. She packed her stuff as fast as she could and sprinted down the corridor of the school.

Keeping up with all the work she got assigned by her teacher, managing her personal problems with shapeshifting and trying to be as helpful to Wednesday and her investigation was getting a little hard at times but seeing Wednesday eyes flare up in curiosity was worth every minute. It was almost as if she enjoyed solving these kind of cases. Murder and violence was not something Wednesday was afraid of and although Enid found the girl not being fazed at these gruesome deaths a little off putting at first, she came to understand Wednesday and her dark mind a little better every day.

Nearing her own room she now shared with the moody girl she couldn't help herself to get a little excited about seeing her roommate again. Of course they saw each other every day it was inevitable after all but she couldn't explain herself why she liked spending time with the morbid girl so much. Especially considering their rocky start. Before Wednesday had arrived she had gotten used to having a room for her own, that was until the girl (or homicidal maniac as she called her at that time) became her new roommate and decided to turn her room into a vampire tomb.

If you asked Enid what she thought about their shared room now, she would say that the stark contrast of their room was not that bad at all. It had a charm to it even. Her suddenly liking the room had nothing to do with her warming up to the Addams at all she told herself, just a new perspective on aesthetics she came to like.

When Enid finally reached her room she opened the door way too energetically, a greeting already ready on her lips.

"Hello people I'm back!! I know you missed me" she declared a little too loudly.

"I certainly did not miss your company or your presence at all, quiet the opposite actually I was getting used to the silence." Wednesday answerd.

"Aw that's so cute Willa but I wasn't even talking to you, I was talking to Mr. Himbleton over here" she said smirking while pointing at what Wednesday considered her arch nemesis, the pink fluffy unicorn. Wednesday visibly got flustered by not only the pet name Enid loved to use for Wednesday but also about the situation she had misunderstood. Although Wednesday was sure that Enid was doing it on purpose to have fun with her. Enid on the other hand loved to tease Wednesday, always found it cute how she would turn red around the cheeks. It was more amusing to Enid since she knew that Wednesday rarely got embarrassed or flustered so she made it her own personal mission to find ways to make the grumpy girl blush at all times.

Enid jumped to her bed relaxing after the tiring day she had. School could be really life draining especially if you had to deal with all the remarks and jokes your peers seem to make about your inability to transform. Even at a school with full of outcasts, she still felt left out sometimes. As if she did not belong at all. Wednesday was always trying to assure her that being different was never something to bet ashamed of or feel bad about. Now she would say these things in her own Wednesday way but Enid understood her perfectly well.

"If you think that you'll get sympathy from me fore being a freak then you'll have to work a little harder. You are not on my level yet so keep up."

"You are weird was shit you know that" Enid had answerd to the weird way of consoling the black haired girl attempted.

"The feeling is incredibly mutual" Wednesday had answered and even tho the words she had used were not very typical to comfort a person, Enid had felt a strange warmth creep up her body that day. Wednesday was special she could see that the first time she had met the girl.

Enid turned her head around to look at Wednesday who was occupied on her typewriter. Generally Wednesday was not really talkative especially not when she was working on her writing but something seemed off today. Call it her wolf instincts or something else but although the girl was just as talkative and communicative as every other day something felt amiss. She seemed to be in deep thoughts, didn't even react when Enid tried to call her name.

"Hey! Wednesday" she tried again "Are you feeling alright?" she asked concerned.

A dry "I'm perfectly fine" was all she got which only made the wolf worry more. Something was wrong. Maybe it was the investigation that had her in a sour mood today?

"So how is the investigation going? Found anything new yet?" she asked curiously. Wednesday had been quite upset these past few days she knew that. It saddened Enid to see Wednesday so down or even more down than she usually was.

Wednesday who did not react to Enid all that much throughout their conversation suddenly turned her head, her gaze more piercing than Enid was used to.

"Why do you care?" she asked with an accusing voice.

Enid was taken back by the girls response. By now she was used to Wednesdays flat answers and threatening phrasing choices and most of the time she could differentiate between Wednesdays tone but this was new. She had never been so cold with her answers yet. A shiver went down Enids spine. She did not like this feeling.

"I was just curious since you know we couldn't make any real progress for a while" Enid said nervously.

Wednesday stared at Enid her tone being harsher than usual she knew that but it was too late to take it back. What Tyler had said sounded wrong it sounded like a bad joke even but it still made Wednesday think about some things. What if it was right, what if she was wrong about the werewolf. Since Tyler left she started to overanalyize ever interaction, every word that Enid said even continuing when Enid entered the room. Why was she suddenly asking about the investigation?

"Because she is a part of it" answered Thing as if it could read Wednesdays thoughts. Sometimes she'll admit that she was not giving Thing the credit it deserved. Thing was way more absorbent than some would think. But even the poorly stitched hand could not ease the feeling that was brewing inside Wednesday. She stared Thing down as if to tell it to shut up. Thing crawled back to the drawer without implying another word.

The possibility of Enid Sinclair being a serial killer was not what disturbed Wednesday, it was the fact that that would mean that Wednesday was being betrayed and deceived by someone like Enid and that, that was unforgivable. It would be humiliating on Wednesday part to see how she had mischaracterized the blonde so although she did not want to believe that Enid could be a cold blooded murderer she came to the conclusion that she could not trust anyone right now.

"No, noting new happened we are still where we left." she answered slowly.

Enid was getting a little confused about this whole situation. Wednesdays behavior was unusual but she couldn't quite tell what was so different about it. Wednesdays glances that lasted a few seconds to long and the deliberate slow way of speaking to not let any important information escape was something Enid did not quite catch at the moment.

"Maybe you should take a break from all of this, you don't seem too well. This investigation seems to take a toll on you and perhaps some time off would me more beneficial right now." Enid suggested hoping that the girl would agree. But to her dismay this seemed to anger Wednesday. She saw her get up from the chair and come closer to Enids half of the room, being careful not to cross to the other side.

Enid was surprised to see the girl stand up so fast not even realizing that she was getting up from her own bed to mimic Wednesdays behavior, standing in front of the Addams not crossing over to her side. Wednesday had to look up a little bit to meet Enids gaze. More than once she had cursed her parents for being the reason of her lacking height at moments like this she wished she was taller.

"What is it? Are you feeling okay?" Enid asked carefully. She seemed to be always concerned about Wednesday. Was that all a lie too? Could Wednesday trust Enid? She didn't know.

"I was perfectly fine before you decided to open your mouth and spurt out dumb ideas into the room." she said harshly, too harshly if you asked Enid.

"I will be continuing the investigation but maybe you should stay out of it for a bit if you are so concerned about it"

"What why would you say that, I want to help you out I don't want to take a break if you don't want to."

"And maybe that is my problem. You don't seem to be able to stay out of my business" Wednesday retorted. Maybe if she made the werewolf angry she could get some answers out of her. After all humans tended to reveal their true intention better when they were angry, it could be not that different for a werewolf.

"Wednesday I don't know what you are saying or trying to imply but your fixation on these murderes are kinda scaring me a little. Sometimes you seem obsessed with it and I really try to help you with all of this but a break would actually be good for you" Enid desperately tried to explain.

"Why do you?"

"Excuse me?" Enid was getting more confused with every word Wednesday was saying.

"I said why do you try to help me? I did not ask for your help or your input in this case and I have to say your are more a liability than a help so how about stopping with the help."

If heartbreak could be visible on people faces, Wednesday was sure she saw it happen while looking at Enids sad eyes the moment she said those words. Why was she feeling bad about it? It was the truth after all but something, a nagging voice at the back of Wednesdays mind was telling her that she was about to make a mistake she couldn't take back.

Enid couldn't remember that last time she felt so insulted. It hurt to hear those words come out of someones mouth she considered a friend. But most visible to Enid and Wednesday she was getting angry at the black haired girls accusatory tone and mean words.

"I know we had not the best start but after weeks of living together I consider you a friend Wednesday Friday Addams and I don't know if it's because of your lack of experience with other people your age or if you decided to be especially cruel today but your words cut deeper than all the knives you own right now" Enid said hurt as much as anger visible in her voice.

This time it was Wednesdays turn to be surprised, she did not expect Enid to retail back at her with the same energy Wednesday displayed. How dare she insult her poor social skills like that? And how DARE she use her middle name. How did the blonde even find out about it? The only possible reasoning was the hand resting in Wednesdays drawer. She took a mental note to cut all of Things finger off for revealing the blonde this information.

"Do you have a death wish Sinclair?" she asked in a low voice coming closer to look right into Enids ocean blue eyes.

Enid again copied Wednesday exact movement coming closer to assert a kind of dominance that her height and wolf instinct were allowing her to do.

"Don't try me Addams" Enid growled back. She was getting angry just as Wednesday had hoped. Some part of Wednesday was enjoying this side of the blonde. She was usually bubbly and friendly and rarely got upset or angry at people so seeing her defend herself was nice to encounter. Wednesday was actually bewitched about this.

"What are you gonna do stare me to death? Claw my face? I would actually like see you try something but considering how week you are I doubt that you will cause any damage at all" Wednesday challenged the blonde and it seemed to work.

Enids blue eyes changed into a deep titanium yellow a little bit of the blue still visible inside the deep yellow. It was mesmerizing to witness and under any other circumstance Wednesday would be delighted about this whole situation but right now she was on a mission and her plan to make Enid angry was working.

Enid grabbed Wednesdays collar dragging the smaller girl incredibly closer.

"Do not underestimate me Wednesday. I could rip your throat out if I wanted to. You can consider yourself lucky that I like you too much to actually hurt you" she said in a very low voice staring into the smaller girls eyes.

Wednesday would rather cut her own tongue out than admit this but hearing Enid threaten her life was making her heart beat faster. Who would have thought that the blonde could be so violent if she wanted to. She wished she saw this side of Enid more often. She smirked before answering the taller girl.

"You are so amusing you know. I would carve you out like a fish before you could even lay a claw on me".

"I wouldn't be so sure about that" Enid replied smiling mockingly before turning serious again.

"Wednesday why don't you get that what you are doing is dangerous, I know you are not afraid of it but I am." Enid tried to explain the smaller girl.

"Well perfect then you can stop involving yourself. Problem solved"

"No nothing will be solved you are still in danger and I'm worried that the psychokiller is gonna harm you if you keep stepping on its toes."

Enid clearly did not want Wednesday to continue with her work that was clear to Wednesday but the reasoning behind it was unexpected to her. Enid was worried about her or at least she was pretending to be, to deceive Wednesday yet again. The turmoil apparent on Wednesday face was making Enid believe that maybe her words were slowly reaching the girl. Deciding to push further to get her mind across she tried to explain how serious this situation was.

"Don't you get it you are putting yourself in danger every time you get closer to solving this case. I am worried that you will catch the attention of the killer and then it will be after you and me being involved in all of this it will also be after me!" Enid exclaimed trying to beat some sense into Wednesdays. Maybe the possibility of others getting hurt in the midst of this mess would open Wednesdays eyes. Maybe the thought that something could happen to Enid would be enough to make Wednesday think about her actions a little more. But as the blonde soon would discover, it seemed like none of those matters to the girl.

"And why would I care about you?" Wednesday said coldly and as soon as she said those words she regretted it immediately.

The hurt on Enids face made Wednesday want to jump out of the balcony who's doors were coincidentally wide open today. She would have rather dropped a whole bottle of acid into her eyes than witness the blondes eyes well up with tears. Wednesdays plan was falling apart in rapid speed and the fight she had started to gather information out of the blonde had turned ugly real quick. And now she was confronted with the reality of what she had said, what she had implied. She saw Enids eyes turn from the mesmerizing yellow back to the bright blue except they did not seem as bright as before.

For the longest time none of the girls said a word. Wednesday was standing there with an with a unreadable expression, staring at Enid who was not uttering a single word. It felt like a eternity passed by before the girl finally said something.

"I see. I won't be in your way from now on then. I'm sorry if I bothered you." she said her eyes full with unshed tears Wednesday almost saw it drop down Enids pretty face but before it could roll down her rosy cheeks Enid had turned around.

"You know I really thought that we were close enough to call ourselves more than just roommates and even more than just casual friends but it seems like I was the only one to belive that you liked me the same way I like you." she said her back still facing Wednesday.

Enid went back to her bed without saying another word to the smaller girl. And this time Wednesday was indeed willing to admit that a knife through her heart would have hurt less than Enids words. She could not take her own words back, the only thing she could do was see the defeated look in Enids eyes.

And so Wednesday was left alone standing in the middle of their shared room, turning around she looked back at her murder wall, the wall staring right back at her and for the first time in her life Wednesday Addams felt like she had made a grave mistake.

______

A week had passed since their argument and true to her word Enid did not interact with the investigation at all. She stayed out of the case even going as far as leaving the room when Tyler came around to discuss new leads and suspects but most importantly she stayed out of Wednesdays business. Wednesday used to think that peace and silence would be restored when Enid would stop talking to her when she was working on her stuff but as it turned out it had the quite opposite effect on Wednesday. How matter how hard she tried to focus on her task at the moment the silence that followed her through the whole room was making her uneasy.

Enid was not talking to Wednesday, wasn't even greeting Mr.Himbleton anymore when she came back from her classes. She wasn't greeting her anymore.

But what bothered Wednesday the most was that the blonde had stopped putting her annoying sticky notes on her wall. This should make Wednesday happy she should be ecstatic right now. But she wasn't and this angered Wednesday. She got what she wanted, to be let alone and not be bothered by the blondes presence. So why was she feeling more miserable than before? Maybe she was catching a cold or something. She should be asking uncle Fester about this.

Wednesday had realized that she went a little too far with her remarks, was a little too harsh with the way she put out words. They must have effected the blonde deeply. She saw the hurt in the blondes eyes whenever their eyes met for a split second before Enid quickly averted them. She saw it in her deflated posture whenever she entered the room, no longer was the bubbly girl walking in as if she was powered by the sun itself no she was walking as if she was caring a giant coffin around her back. Her shoulders sagged, head pointing at the ground. It was rather disturbing to witness.

Sometimes Wednesday would see Enid write in one of her sticky notes. What she wrote Wednesday never saw since they were not making it to her side of the room anymore. If Wednesday was bother about that she did not say anything about it.

Enid on the other was more sad than angry with Wednesday. The words the shorter girl had said to her cut deeper than she was ready to admit. It was not the comments about her being a liability that hurt the most, although she had to admit those hurt in their own special way. No it was the way Wednesday seemed to be so unconcerned about her own and Enids wellbeing that had set the girl off. If Wednesday wanted her to stay out, she would stay out. Now this didn't mean that Enid wasn't going to keep an eye out for the macabre girl because no matter how hard she tried to deny it she liked the Wednesday more than she realized. Despite all the cruel words the girl had said she still did not want the girl to suffer any harm. That's what friends did right? Were they even friends? It seemed like Wednesday did not consider them as such but that didn't matter to Enid. She knew that Wednesday had problems with expressing her feelings so even if the socially awkward girl was not considering Enid as her friend, Enid had decide a long time ago that she would always consider her as one.

And that's why she is still continuing to write poems for the girl. These ones would never reach the other girl but she decide that she would keep them to herself so only she could know the way she saw Wednesday Addams. Only she would know that the friendly eyes that stared at Wednesday reflected more than just the one of a longing friend.

She hastily wrote another piece of work onto her sticky note before packing her things. She had woken up late today so she was about to run late to school. Wednesday was not in the room when the werewolf woke up so as fast as she could she gathered her belongings and made her way to her classroom. The note she had written forgotten on her little desk.

_____

Wednesdays class had finished before Enids as it did most of the the days so going into the room she did not expect anyone in the room and just as she had guessed it was indeed empty. Enids normally carefully made up bed was unkept today various clothes splattered all over it. Her desk was just as chaotic as the rest of the the blondes side of the room.

Now Wednesday was not the kind of person to snoop around other peoples belongings but the white note on Enids desk was practically screaming at her to look at it. It was not helping that Wednesday was not receiving any new notes from the blonde so curiosity took over her logic and she quickly approached the little note. Picking up the the piece of paper, she wished she rather had not come over here to read it in the first place since all it did was make Wednesday feel even worse than she already did. The words so deliberately written on the paper were stabbing her heart with ever syllable.

You left me, sweet, two legacies, —
A legacy of love
A Heavenly Father would content,
Had He the offer of;

You left me boundaries of pain
Capacious as the sea,
Between eternity and time,
Your consciousness and me.

Wednesday put the note back on the desk not knowing what to do with herself now. She knew that the note was written for her and had she not seen it today she probably would have never. It would have joined all the other notes Enids kept in her drawer. Wednesday did not open the drawer not wanting to infringe on the blondes privacy any more than she already had but seeing the girls note made one thing clear to Wednesday. She had started this mess so she would fix it. She was an Addams after all doing everything with dignity and pride was at utmost importance. Seeing your wrong doings and fixing them was considered to be noble. So she would wait for Enid, wait for her to come back and fix the misunderstanding she had caused. How she would do that she hadn't decided yet but she would fix it. No matter what.

Except Enid did not come back from her classes. She usually arrived at the same time back at their shared room. But today she seemed to run a little later than normal.

"She probably had to visit the library or was occupied with an assignment for school nothing to worry about" Thing tried to reassure her but Wednesday Addams was not someone who ignored their gut feeling and said gut feeling was not looking positive at this situation. I was already dark and with a serial killer on the lose students were advised to not stay out late for too long and Enid was the type of student to follow rules and directions given by authorities which made her absence even more worrying right now.

Wednesday decided that she was not gonna stay any longer in this room and wait for something to happen. She decided to listen to her feeling and go out to search for the blonde. For the first time Wednesday hoped that she was wrong.

_____

Enid had finished up her school projects for today. She had stayed after school for a while to chat with Yoko and Xavier about the new Illusions the boy learned to create before deciding that she would head back to her room.

But before she could go back she had to go to the edge of the nearby woods to collect some flowers. It had been become a hobby of some sorts to find the most beautiful golden trumpets. Not only did they make for amazing decorations for her room but they also were perfect to dry out and use as bookmarks. She'd often come out here to collect plants for herself and for her subjects in school. Finding the perfect spot was not easy at all she made sure not to go too deep into the woods, aware of the possible dangers in them. She started to pick the flowers she liked the most as quickly as possible so she wouldn't get caught up in the dark. Thanks to her chitchat with Xavier and Yoko she was running late on the flowers too. This was not her day it seemed.

Just as she had finished picking the plants up Enids sensitive ears picked up on a rustling sound coming from the woods. Enid stared at the direction which the sound came from not seeing anything or anyone. The dark sky was making it a little harder to see but her werewolf senses were picking up on noises the human ear could not hear. Deciding that it must haven been just an animal of some sorts she quickly gathered her stuff ready to go back to the academy. Just as she was about the leave she heard a scream loud and clear. Turning to the woods with an speed unknown to her own she tried to see someone, anyone who could have let out that noise.

Enid was many things, she was easily frightened and way too insecure at times but a coward she was not especially knowing that somebody could be in potential danger, so she listened closely searching for a sign that she wasn't just hearing wrong. And then it happened again this time accompanied with the pleads of help.

"PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!"

Enid sprinted to the female voice that desperately screamed for help. The possibility of this being a trap did not cross her mind. The only thing she knew was that someone was in danger and If she ever wanted to call herself a werewolf she could not just stand there and do nothing or just run away from this. She had to take action and so she did, running further down the path that lead to the woods until her silhouette was no longer visible covered by the thick trees on this cold autumn night.

Chapter Text

"Have you seen Enid?" Wednesday asked Eugene who was sitting in the library occupied with a book.

"Hi to you too Wednesday" the boy answers nervously. Wednesday did not repeat her question or greet the boy back.

"Ehm no I haven't seen her since our class together but maybe you could ask Yoko she was with Enid the last time I saw-"

Before Eugene could finish his sentence Wednesday was already walking back to the patio outside the school to find the vampire. She had asked the whole school if anyone had seen Enid but as it seemed nobody had seen the blonde. With every "I don't know" she received the more uneasy Wednesday got. Where was she?

Wednesday located the vampire sitting with her friends talking about god knows what. The vampire sensed Wednesdays arrival before the girls was even standing near her. Yoko turned her head to the troubled looking girl.

"What's up weirdo." the vampire asked smiling at the smaller girl.

"Nothing blood sucker! Have you seen Enid?" she hastily asked.

Yoko seemed surprised "Hasn't she returned yet? She wanted to collect some stuff from the edge of the Nevermore woods but she should have returned till now" Yoko said with slight concern.

"No she was late today so I came out to search for her. Eugene said that the he saw her with you"

"Have you searched everywhere else?" Yoko asked already guessing the answer.

Wednesday turned to the vampire looking with murdreous intend.

"Ok I understand so let's search in the woods then she was headed towards there maybe she is still there" Yoko suggested.

"It's fine I'll search on my own" Wednesday said before leaving the the vampire heading to the woods.

"No I'm concerened too I'll come with you we can find her faster together" Yoko sprinted next to Wednesday and so together the two made their way to the Nevermore woods.

_____

Walking down the wood path in the dark was a little harder than Wednesday had imagined. The sky had tuned from the dreadful light blue to a welcoming deep dark blue/black. The stars where shining exceptionally bright today and if it was any other night Wednesday would be delighted. Her mission to find Enid had brought her to the edge of the Nevermore woods and now she was standing here with the nocturnal vampire next to her searching for any signs that the blonde had been or still was here.

"She usually comes to this spot here" Yoko pointed out to the small patch of area full with flowers and other useful plants. She made her way to the place were Yoko pointed out only to see no sign of the blondeWhat she could see were dozens of flowers that were picked out but thrown to the ground. The bad feeling that was growing bigger with every second that Enid was missing was only getting worse while she stared at the destroyed flowers on the grass.

"I think you feel it too don't you Addams. Something is off" Yoko said.

"I have to find her" the noirette replied with the urgency apparent in her voice.

"I know we will find her. Enid is not the only one who can follow tracks easily. Aren't you glad that you brought the vampire with you" Yoko tried to lighten the mood.

Wednesday stared at the girl unimpressed.

"Hey don't worry we will find her, she probably got lost in the woods. You know for a werewolf her sense of direction is really bad"

"I am not worried" Wednesday tried to deny.

"You can't lie to a vampire Addams. It doesn't work." she said smirking.

Before Yoko could utter another word the smaller girl had made her way to the entrance of the woods, almost walking faster than humanly possible.

"Don't be grumpy little shadow, we'll find your little dog. She can't be gone that far."

Catching up with the girl both Yoko and Wednesday went deeper and deeper into the woods. If Wednesday had known that she would be searching the wood for Enid today she would have brought a light source with her. The only thing keeping them being extremely blind in this dark night was the beautiful full moon decorating the sky tonight. Enid was usually pretty sad whenever the full moon accured. Wednesday knew that and had seen the blonde be less enthusiastic and happy around this time. It was only one of the many things she noticed about Enid.

Now walking down the thick path covered in leaves and roots searching for the blonde was not on Wednesdays apology plan. Her previous plan of waiting for Enid to return to her room was not gonna work now and when she found the girl she would just have to apologize right there and then. The tension and guilty handing on her shoulders was too heavy to carry.

"You now Enid has been down the past few days. Do you know why that could be?" the vampire asked already suspecting the reason.

"I might know but I don't see the reason why you would care." Wednesday replied slightly annoyed.

"Because I'm her friend and I do worry about her. That's what friends do, they look out for each other. I mean you are out here searching for her aren't you because you are concerned about her."

Wednesday didn't answer for a moment not knowing what to say.

"I guess so" she reluctantly agreed.

"You can try to hide it but I can see that you care about her. Now I don't know what happened between you two but I know that Enid still is and wants to be your friend. Why that, is an enigma to me but she has been more happy since you became her roommate and I know she likes having you as a friend so I hope that you too can act like one to her one day." Yoko finished before smiling at the smaller girl.

"Now come on we have a wolf to find."

As soon as Yoko uttered those words, an ear piercing scream accompanied with a deep growl surrounded the woods. Wednesday sprinted down the path running as fast as possible to the direction the scream came from. Hoping that it did not belong to the blonde.

_____

Enid had run. As scared as she was she had followed the scream coming from the woods. She came to the realization that what she was doing might be dangerous especially for her, who couldn't even turn into a werewolf to defend her life if she wanted to. If the danger was greater than her abilities she would have to deviate from her plan and run for a much different reason. But right now she was trying to help, she was running to aid and when she finally thought that she reached the place where the scream originated, she was surprised to find nobody there.

Had she heard wrong? Were her ears playing a game with her, maybe a side effect of not being able to turn for such a long time. Enid was thinking of every possibility imaginable, her thoughts running wild with her.

"Hello is anybody here?" she asked timidly. Now matter how much she tired to be courageous this situation was terrifying to her and maybe she should have thought twice before storming into the dark forrest. But it was too late for that now. She was here and she couldn't turn back before she was totally sure that nobody was in danger.

"ENID HELP ME!!"

The werewolf froze. Was that Wednesdays voice? I couldn't be. Wednesday was supposed to be at the academy. She was supposed to be in their room writing in her typewriter or working on her investigation. She should be save, why was she here ?

"WEDNESDAY!!?" Enid screamed, a deep panic overtaking her senses. Was the scream she heard before Wednesdays too? She had to find out. She needed to find the girl.

"WEDNESDAY WHERE ARE YOU?!!" she tried again screaming at the top of her lungs but no answer. She could not hear anything. With the panic of Wednesday potentially being in danger and the a power she didn't know she had stormed to the direction of the scream and as she ran through the woods to find the her friend all she hoped was that her ears were playing her a sick joke.

She was sprinting and avoiding all the branches as best as she could until a long and heavy object seemingly appeared out of nowhere striking Enid right in the head. With the force of the hit Enid flew back hitting the floor with a hard thud. Not even the leaves could cushion the fall. Blacking out for a second Enid couldn't understand what was happening. Had she hit a tree?

"I did not think that It would be so easy to lure you in here" a deep male voice said. Enid could still not open her eyes overwhelmed with pain. She could feel something dripping down her face alongside the smell of iron. A two inch wide open wound on her eyebrow was gaping with blood.

"I knew you were not the brightest but to fall for this cheap trick?" the man chuckled. Enid had trouble opening her eyes. It hurt to much right now. But the mans voice sounded familiar. She felt two hands tug at her feet to drag her further into the designated spot the stranger man had chosen.

Enid slowly opened her eyes only to meet the man who had knocked her out. She could see the metal bar that the man now had discarded, throwing it out of reach. This was probably the cause of her fall. He was closed in all black top to bottom, easily hiding in the shadows. His face was not recognizable, concealed with a devils mask. Standing in front of Enid the man started to bow down to look at the blonde on the floor.

"So pathetic."

"Who are you?" Enid managed to ask. Her senses were coming back slowly. The pounding headache would not go as fast but the most important thing right now was collecting herself so she could get up and escape this situation. The man chuckled amused at the girls question.

"You really don't know huh? I thought that you would at least recognize my voice but I understand I hit you a little hard there didn't I" the maniac laughed.

"I would apologize for that but it would be really disingenuous of me. As for your question about my identity I'm gonna be as blunt as I can be here so even you can understand."

"I am your end Enid Sinclair. Death itself as I like to call myself. I am the last person you'll see before I take your life." the man said in a sinister voice.

A shiver went down Enids spine. All of her muscles locked by fear. Her breathing was getting heavier the longer she stared at the hollow eyes of the said man. And at that moment she knew who she was standing in front of. All the murders going on, all the students killed by this mysterious serial killer nobody's had seen the face of. The fear that lingered along Nevermore corridors whenever students and teachers talk about it and all the pain the cause of all of that was standing in front of Enid. The person Wednesday was searching for weeks now, was before Enid.

"What did you do to Wednesday? I heard her scream" she had to know. She needed to know if Wednesday was in danger or if it was just a trick the man had played.

"You really do like her I see. I just told you that I am going to kill you yet the only thing you ask is where that plague of a girl is? Well consider it my last gift to you. See it as your last wish to know the whereabout of your friend." the man reached his hand to his back to bring out a dagger and if Enids eyes were not fooling her it was made out of silver that much she could recognize. A panic overcame the blonde.

"She was never here I just used this small little device here to mimic her voice to lure you out here and it worked perfectly. Don't be scared she is in safety I am not after her. How else would she be able to continue her silly little investigation. To be honest I find it cute how she really things that she can catch me."

"But enough said your time is a the end" forcefully grabbing Enid from her hair the killer dragged the girl up to her knees holding the dagger close to her throat.

"Please you don't have to do this." Enid tried to plead finally coming to her senses with the help of the adrenalin rush. She grabbed the mans arm in which he held the object of the girls demise.

"Oh but I have to, I dreamed of this moment for so long Enid Sinclair. And just as you always feared for, you will die out her tonight all alone and forgotten."

And then it finally hit her, she recognized this man. His voice the way he was speaking, all the personal information he knew. It was him.

"DON'T..."

Enid screamed seeing the man reached his hand back to strike the blonde.

But before the dagger could hit it's target the werewolf had extended her claws, eyes turning titanium yellow and her teeth growing out of her small mouth ready to rip apart anything standing in her way. She managed to claw the mans leg, a deep gash decorating the killers thigh. The murderer sprung back in pain surprised by the girls sudden attack.

Not wanting the killer to get another chance at attacking the blonde, she made the first move this time striking first. She gashed another claw at the mans arm resulting in him dropping the dagger to the ground. But the man had recovered fasted than Enid anticipated and so while she tried to grab the knife from the ground the killer had raised his fist full with an unknown powder and blew it all over the blondes face.

Before Enid could understand what the man had thrown at her she started to choke. Her eyes turning back to the deep blue, her fangs and her claws involuntarily retreating back to their human form. A painful coughing fit was developing. It was hard to breath, with every breath she took her airwaves burned like it was on fire. Holding onto her throat the blonde slowly choked on the mysterious powder.

"YOU BITCH!! I tried to make this a little faster for you but if you insist on it, I will make it way more painful now" the man declared coming closer to the girl who was struggling to breath.

"Wolfsbane. Nice isn't it such a beautiful flower yet so dangerous for some species. But don't worry before you can choke to death I will make sure to gut you out" the man spit out while picking up the silver dagger which he had dropped. Making his way to the blonde for a second time this night he kicked her down before striking the razor sharp dagger to the werewolfs stomach.

The blonde let out a blood curling scream mixed with a pleading growl. The feeling of the the sharp object piercing through her skin and tearing apart her organs was unbearable. The pain felt nauseating almost making the blonde black out.

"ENID!! ARE YOU THERE?!"

She heard it loud and clear. A voice she wasn't hearing for the past days, a voice she had longed for. Wednesday Addams voice who was now calling for her name in the middle of the night.

She felt like crying when she realized that another voice one was calling for her too.

"LITTLE FURBAG ANSWER US!!"

She would recognize her blood sucking friends voice no matter how far it sounded. They were both here to search for her so with a last push of energy and ignoring the overwhelming pain of her abdomen she screamed as loud as she could whereas this was probably her only chance of survival.

"HELLPP!!" WEND-" before she could scream out the girls name the killers hand had found Enids mouth, covering it swiftly. And without a warning the man had taken back his dagger once again to stab the werewolf right in her shoulder near her heart. Luckly missing the vital organ but Enid could feel the the knife pierce through her lung leaving her breathless.

Her scream now muffled by the killers hand she yelped out of pain a tear escaping her eyes and rolling down the side of head. If striking the sharp knife in was painful, the immeasurable pain that that engulfed Enid when the man pulled out the knife was unexplainable. A cry leaving her mouth made it past the mans hand and just as he was about the stab the girl for a third time, Enid suddenly felt the weight over hear disappear. She saw the vampire standing over her looking panicked before turning back to the man she had successfuly removed from her friend.

As soon as Yoko left another figure appeared in front of her vision. A beautiful girl with midnight black hair and her signature umbrella which wasn't only brought as an accessoire but also to defend herself if something happened. Wednesday was crouched next to Enid holding her hand over her bleeding wound.

"Wednesday?" the blonde asked pained as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing was real or just a fiction of her imagination.

"Yes I'm here don't worry I'll get you help hang on okay?" Wednesday ansewered with a hurried voice. Uncharachteristic to her normally monotone way of speaking.

"It hurts." the blonde cried overcome by the pain the silver dagger had caused.

"I know. I know don't worry I'll get you out of here" Wednesday tried to console the blonde. Seeing her roommate like this, covered in her own blood, tears dripping down here face, was breaking Wednesdays heart. It felt like something was grabbing at it and squeezing it until was about to explode. Wednesday had to get the girl out of here. Immediately.

Turning back to Yoko she saw the vampire fight against the killer choking the man against the tree. But the man had come prepared it seemed and with a swift move which neither Wednesday nor the vampire had seen, the man had pulled out a slim wood stake and stabbed the vampire in the gut.

Letting out a yelp Yoko let go of the man, to collapse on the floor. The killer looked at the only girl standing. Her Umbrella was already drawn out to help her assist in the fight.

But to Wednesdays surprise the man did not attack her. He turned away without saying a word and started to escape further into the dark wood.

This being the only chance Wednesday would have to finally catch the killer she sprinted after him. Throwing one of her sharpest knives she brought with her at the man which missed the man by some inches and got stuck at the nearest tree. With a swift move the man dislodged the knife from the tree to unexpectedly throw at the girl back. Not being able to see the knife as good in the dark and failing to notice the move, the knife had sliced Wednesday near her shoulder barely missing her throat.

She yelped more of surprise than pain, holding her wound while looking back at the man who was now further runnig away from the girl. She looked back at the blonde laying on the ground bleeding to death and the vampire, who had managed to take out the stake out by now, and then looked back at the man. She knew that she had to make a decision and it felt easier than Wednesday thought.

Without looking back the girl rushed back to Enid, her pale face alarming Wednesday even more. The vampire had come next to Wednesday, her wound seemingly healing it self after taking out the piece of wood. At times like this Wednesday was fascinated about the fast regeneration speed that vampires displayed.

"It looks like she got stabbed with the silver dagger. We need to get her to the academy as soon as possible the doctors there know how to aid in cases like these." Yoko hastily said.

"You're injured too " the vampire noticed.

"I can't carry both of you so I'll go and get as many people as I can to help okay. It's gonna be way faster this way." the brunette said determined.

Wednesday nodded overwhelmed with this whole situation. Yoko took Enids hand smiling at the werewolf laying on the ground.

"Don't worry puppy we'll get your help okay just hang on till I'm back." she said carefully. Enid smiled at her friend.

"I'll try my best" the blonde choked out trying not to look too pained. Yoko got up and looked at both wounded girls before sprinting back in what almost seemed like light speed to the academy.

"You know your ability to get yourself in danger astounds me" Wednesday suddenly declared coming closer to blonde and covering the blondes injuries once more. Her hands were covered in her roommates blood.

Enid smiled. The only thing she did was smile and look at the girl next to her. She smiled until she felt the tears build up again and before she could avoid it she felt another tear slip down her face.

"I was so scared Wednesday. I am scared." the girl was crying now overcome by the pain and fear of death.

"I thought I heard your scream and I ran here and he was there. I thought that I would die here all alone." she managed to say struggling to form the words.

"But now you're here and I'll won't be alone when I go."

"You are not going anywhere. Don't you dare dying here right now." Wednesday came closer to the girl dragging the girl near a tree so she could rest her back on it while having the blonde lay in between her legs, Enids back facing Wednesdays front. Both hands still on the girls wounds trying to stop the bleeding. Her own shoulder which was bleeding profusely, she tried to ignore it.

"I forbid you to die out her and if you fail to obey I swear that I will kill you with my own hands"

The blonde chuckled amused at Wednesdays efforts to lighten the situation. It was not looking good for her she realized that. Her chances of surviving this were not very high. She prepared herself for the worst. She could feel herself slip away her eyes getting heavier, her breath labored. The pain was slowly easing and a cruel cold creeping up her body. She had to say whatever she could muster to bring out of her lips before it was too late.

"When I'm gone open my drawer to the left with all the notes in it. Words that only belong to you will be yearning for your eyes.

"How rude of you. Shouldn't you be the one sticking them to my wall? I am someone who values tradition you know, keep it up and stick them to my wall like you used to do" Wednesday managed to say out loud. Her throat was getting tighter with every seconds she tried to hold her tears back.

"I'll think about it if you promise to take care of Mr. Himbleton. I know you like him you know." the blonde said weakly a small smile forming on her dry lips.

"You are gonna take care of that abomination yourself, I won't go near that thing." Wednesday chuckled and Enid could hear it and oh what a beautiful sound it was to hear. Wednesday Addams smiled for her. She wished she had more time, more opportunities to make the girl happy, to hear her laugh and smile for her. But she was aware that her vision was getting blurry, she knew that she would not be conscious for much longer but she had to say one last important thing.

Enid coughed again, alarming the smaller girl who was looking at the girl coughing up drops of blood all over herself.

"Wednesday I think I know who the killer is...and you know him too." Wednesday stopped breathing for a moment confused by the words the injured girl was saying.

"Who is it?"

No answer

"Enid? Open your eyes who did this to you?" the girl shook the blonde a little.

"I'm sorry." Enid mumbled out the words barely conscious to to say another word. She was slipping, the world around her going darker with each second and before she knew darkness had welcomed her.

Wednesday could feel it too. The girl was loosing too much blood, Yoko needed to be her in the next few minutes or the blonde would be gone forever. The thought of Enid never opening her eyes again terrified the girl. Her eyes started to burn unshed tears hanging on for dear life.

"I'm sorry too for the things I said. I care you know. I don't want you to go. So please stay."

A lonely tear dropped down the girls face. Her own vision getting blurry and slowly turning black from all the blood she also had lost. Enid did not answer back. And before the smaller girl embraced the darkness she heard the distant screams belonging to a certain vampire.

_____

Opening her eyes was never this difficult before for the girl. It felt like someone had glued her eyelids together. Managing to open them she was blended by the bright lights. Out of reflex she shut them tight again.

"I think she is waking up" a voice said she couldn't decifer at the moment.

Finally finding the strength to fully open her eyes she could see the vampire standing over her.

"Hi grumpy kid, how are you feeling?

"Like I came back from the dead" Wednesday replied with a hoarse voice.

She scanned her environment looking at the empty white beds next to her. She was in the school hospital. She was looking for a particular girl with blue and red streaks in her hair but she couldn't see anyone.

With swift move the girl straightened her posture sitting apprupty startling the vampire.

"Where is she?" the girl asked panic all over her face. Why isn't she here? She should be here this is the infirmary of the school where was she?

Before Wednesday could fall deeper into panic the vampire had begun to calm her down.

"Hey don't worry just take it easy okay calm down it's gonna be okay"

This was not the answer she wanted. This was not a clear answer to the questions she didn't even want to ask. The thought hurting too much. But she didn't see any other way out than to be direct as possible.

"Is she dead?" she asked as stoic as possible but the vampire could see through the noirette. Eyes getting red with every second Yoko stayed still, her trembling hands gripping on the bed sheet. To say that seeing Wednesday Addams like this was disturbing would be an understatement. Not wanting to torture the girl anymore she answered quickly.

"She is okay. She is alive believe me that pup is too stubborn to let go like this. She is just in a really rough shape and had to be placed into a more suiting section of the academy. The ones who are specially trained for werewolf injuries and illnesses."

Wednesday let out a breath she didn't knew she was holding. Exhaling slowly trying to calm drown her nerves.

"How bad is it, her injuries I mean." Wednesday warily asked.

"She got stabbed in the abdominal area which did miss her vital organs there. One stab in her chest which unfortunatley pierced her lung and it seems like she inhaled Wolfsbane, I'm guessing that the psycho used it against her so her airwaves are injured as well. But the doctors said that she would make it. They were surprised to hear that she never turned before" Yoko sat down next to the girls bed taking off her glasses to show her crimson red eyes.

"Why?" Wednesday asked surprised. What did Enid not turning have to do with anything?

"Well usually her wounds should have been fatal they said" Wednesday didn't even want to entertain the thought of Enid possibly dying.

"But she seems like a fast healer and although she was stabbed with silver she was healing much faster than most werewolfs which is quite unusual. They suspect that although she has difficulties in some areas in her werewolf transformion, it could be that other specialities like healing, seeing, hearing could be better developed since she is only relying on those with much more intensity than others."

Wednesday was getting dizzy from all the information.

Enid was alive. She did not leave her, she stayed with Wednesday. That's all that mattered.

"Yoko, was anyone else getting treated while we were out. Especially for claw marks?" she asked

"No, not that I'm aware of" the vampire answers confused.

"Why?"

The girl did not answer instead she swung her legs to the side of the bed and tried to get up but the vampire was faster and for Wednesday dismay stronger than the girl and with a swift move Yoko laid the girl back to bed.

"No absolute not you are not going anywhere. You lost a lot of blood the knife almost cut your carotid artery, I'm surprised you didn't ask about yourself first." The vampire exclaimed.

"But I get it you girlfriend comes first after all am I right?

Wednesday cheeks grew red, perplexed by the sudden assumption.

"I don't love her" she hastily exclaimed trying to explain what she felt for the blonde.

"I never said you did." The vampire smiled her canines showing. Wednesday wanted to punch the smile out of the girls face.

"She is not my girlfriend" she tried again this time trying to be more calm and collected.

"Well maybe it's time she she get that title don't you think?"

"But don't worry some birds told me that a certain wolf could beat you to it"

Overwhelmed with the whole situation Wednesday closed her eyes. Her headache was getting worse with every second she stayed awake. She needed sleep.

She stared at the ceiling thinking about everything that happened in the span of hours. She never came that close to the killer till now and ironically it was Enid herself who was the reason. Although if she knew that things would have ended this way she would have desperately tried to avoid it even if it meant that she would never get to catch the killer at all. If Enid was in safety then all well was good on earth.

"Visit time is over I better get to go see the little wolf, see how she is doing. She is not awake yet and the doctor said that she would be knocked out for a couple days but I better go look for her too." the vampire said while standing up to leave.

"Yoko" Wednesday called softly already feeling herself get incredibly sleepy.

"Thank you for saving her." The vampire had a smile on her face.

"Of course" she replied.

"Can I ask you a favor?" Wednesday timidly asked.

"Sure what is it?"

"Can you stay with Enid until I am able to stand up it should not take more than a few hours. But don't leave her side for one second. If I'm correct on this she might be still in danger I need someone to protect her while she is vulnerable."

A slight worried look took over Yokos face but she collected herself again "Yeah of course don't worry Addams I will not leave her side for a moment until you come back for your girl." and before Wednesday could say a word back to the vampire she was gone in a blink of an eye. One day she swore she would stake that blood sucker herself.

But she also made a mental note to herself, to remember the vampires gesture. The vampire may not know but she had given her a gift that she would remember for her whole life. Enids life.

Now she had a new mission. Keeping Enid close to her so when the next time the killer striked she would be able to protect her. There was no doubt that the killer would strike again particularly because the werewolf seemed to recognize the person behind the mask. She had said that she knew the killer and Wednesday did too. It had to be someone they both had a mutual connection to and this could be anyone on Nevermore or close by. Preparing herself to wake up in few hours she rested her eyes again overtaken by the meds that were still in her system and fell to a sleep. Protecting the blonde being the only thing on her mind.

Thank for reading this story I did not know if I should post something considering that I don't really think that I'm any good but writing more could be more beneficial to my writing so as always constructive criticism is welcome. Also I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this story.

ps: bonus question who is/are the authors/poets I used throughout the story and title? There are two. Did you recognize them?

pss: Do you know who the killer is? I tried to leave some hints on who it could be so everyone could theorize. But I think its quite obvious.
