Both were the only person the other wanted to live with, until suddenly one became two within the walls of an apartment they were lucky to call home, filling the space with their belongings. Those objects gradually lost their individual meaning and became shared: toothbrushes found in the same glass, shoes left side by side after returning from a shift, and when they embraced, losing themselves in each other without knowing where one began and where the other ended.
Yolanda’s fingertips traced the lines of Trinity’s tattoos. Trinity paid a secret devotion to the moles on Yolanda’s brown skin, showing it by leaving soft, wet kisses on each of them.
And before they even realized it, they understood each other without the need for words, only a glance.

“It was a trip to celebrate him and now we’re stuck in fucking Nebraska until a new pilot gets here. Coincidence?” Trinity stared at them both, raising her eyebrows for dramatic effect.
“Well… it’s not Dennis’s fault he has bad luck,” Victoria said with a shrug.
