I might not upload for every day, but I will try my best to complete the 30 days. I’m not by any means good at writing, if I make a mistake feel free to correct me. The same thing applies if you feel offended by anything I write.

Work Text:

Despite her best efforts, it was getting pretty late, and Enid couldn't help but worry more and more as time went on. Enid had planned to surprise Wednesday with a date. She planned a candlelit dinner on the balcony.

There were blankets spread over the floor and candles sitting on the balcony ledge.

Enid had spent hours cooking and coming up with the perfect dinner, the perfect date. She made the brunettes favourite dessert, dark chocolate truffles, with just a drop of poison.

You wouldn’t believe the amount of trouble it took to find, with the recent murders surrounding the town it made acquiring the poison almost impossible.

It had been perfect, the keyword here had.

Wednesday had taken a trip to the towns library and was now twenty minutes late. She was never late; in fact, Wednesday has a habit of arriving at least fifteen minutes early, unless she was torturing some innocent bystander. Even then she was ten minutes early.

Enid didn't like it one bit, usually she would have just brushed it off. However, this night, it was too much. There was another murder just that morning. A nevermore student had been found in the forest—a werewolf. Enid had not known him; he was a shy, quiet boy. He kept to himself, someone you could pass in the hall and not recognize.

His death made Enid feel guilty, even though she knew there was nothing she could’ve done for him.

Minutes had passed, and Enid was growing anxious by the second. She was pacing around their shared dorm, trying to keep herself from panicking. It was not working.

What if something happened and Wednesday was hurt somewhere, or worse, she had been murdered? No, Wednesday can take care of herself, a voice in her head said. Not against a monster, not by herself, said another.

It took a minute of debating before Enid ultimately decided to go and look for her. She put on her coat, slid on her shoes, and made her way towards the door.

As she opened the door, she was faced with Wednesday, who had her arm stretched out towards the door knob and looked as if she was about to open it herself.

There wasn’t a moments hesitation before the werewolf threw her arms around her roommate, grabbing her tightly and burying her head in the crock of her neck. Wednesday’s body went stiff. She did not react immediately because the sudden act of affection surprised her.

"Wednesday! Thank god, you're okay!" Enid mumbled into Wednesday’s neck. She had a look of bewilderment written across her face.

"Of course, why wouldn’t I be?"

Enid pulled back from Wednesday and looked at her.

"I was worried. I thought the monster got to you."

"You were…" She paused, "worried about me." She said carefully, eyebrow’s furrowed as if the very thought of Enid’s emotions confused her. In hindsight, they probably did.

"Was I—of course I was worried about you? You’re investigating murders! Something could’ve happened to you!"

"You don’t have to be; I’ve done nothing to warrant your concern." Despite Wednesday’s blank expression, Enid could’ve sworn she saw her flash a worried look.

"Wednesday, I will always be worried about you. You’re investigating murders, for crying out loud. A monster is on the loose; anything can happen. You could’ve-"

Enid cut herself off by yawning. She failed to notice how tired she was or how late it was getting. She was too busy concentrating all her energy on a certain brunette to realize it.

"You’re tired, you should go to bed." Of course, Wednesday was trying to change the topic.

"Okay, but we are talking about this in the morning." Enid tries to give her a stern look, in all truth, it probably looked like an angry cat.

Enid turned and headed for the bathroom to get ready for bed. By the time she got back Wednesday had already changed into her pyjamas. She was standing in the middle of the room, staring out at the glass window.

The once freshly lit candles, but were now burned out and surrounded by hot wax, sat on the balcony ledge, and the dinner Enid worked so hard and long to prepare was cold.

The blonde stood behind Wednesday, wrapping her arms around her and resting her head on her shoulder. The young Addams’ wore an impassive expression. Enid knew Wednesday like she knew the lyrics to every TWICE song ever made. In short, Wednesday was not going to let herself live this down. She was going to torture herself for this, almost as much as she tortured Pugsley or Thing. Enid was not going to let her.

Enid faked a yawn. “Come to bed, Willa. It’s getting late, we have a test tomorrow.” She tugged gently on Wednesday’s sleeve and led her to her bed.

To her surprise, Wednesday said nothing when she slid under the covers, making herself at home. Wednesday laid on her back with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Sweet dreams, Willa."

"Nightmares, Enid"

Pulling the girl closer in her embrace, the two fell asleep in each other's arms, the candle-lit dinner completely forgotten.
