Work Text:
Enid secretly bought Wednesday a phone when they were in town during Outreach Day.
The only problem was no matter how hard she tried Wednesday always came up with an excuse, as to why she didn’t need one.
‘I don’t believe in social media.’
‘Technology corrupts’
‘I have no use for a smartphone’
She even tried to give her without saying anything. She left the phone on Wednesday’s bed one day and found it in her backpack the next morning.
Wednesday wasn’t someone in her time, she was old fashion. The girl didn’t even know what TV was for crying out loud.
Enid glanced over at Wednesday, who was writing on her typewriter with Thing on her shoulder.
It’s now or never she thought.
She stood up from the bed and walked over towards Wednesday.
“Wednesday, can we talk?”
Her roommate showed no sign of hearing her.
Very mature.
“Willa, can we talk?”
Wednesday sighs before turning around to face Enid. Thing jumps off her shoulder and scurries over to her bed.
Jackpot.
Wednesday always hates it when Enid calls her Willa, or any other one of her nicknames for the dark haired girl.
“I’m worried about you, every time you go out I’m afraid you won’t come back. You almost got killed last time!” Her voice was raised at the last sentence.
Enid saw Wednesday’s eyes softened for a split second before reverting back to the there cold gaze.
“Please, just take it.”
Enid stretches out her arms signalling for Wednesday to grab the phone from her. Wednesday hesitantly reaches out and grabs the phone.
“I already put my number in your contacts, call me if you need help.”
“What is a contact?” Wednesday looked so confused Enid couldn’t help but laugh.
“Don’t worry, I’ll teach you.”
Enid spent the next two hours explaining to Wednesday how to use a phone. It’s more complicated then it seems, in Wednesday’s opinion.
