“Are you sure about this?” Xisuma asked, Grian smiled and just nodded

“Why not! It’s fun, and plus, we have unlimited respawn, it will be fun to be paired up and possibly interact with others we don’t talk to much,” the avian reasoned. The admin and the avian kept talking and Xisuma finally agreed,

“Just for season ten, any seasons after this, no mixing around with what you do for your life games,” Xisuma sighed and Grian cheered, X smiled and the two continued to talk so everything was set up and safe for the upcoming season.

The notification of the plan for season 10 was sent out to the participating hermits, and on the notification it was mentioned that a new hermit will be joining them. Everyone was excited for a new member and they were excited to see who it was and how they were going to mix with everyone.

It wasn’t long till season 10 had started.

“Everyone, welcome to Hermitcraft Season 10!" Grian yelled, raising his arms in the air.

“During our break Xisuma and I had a bit of a talk. We talked because since this is the tenth season and since it’s double digits, I wanted to introduce something that some of us have done previously. Xisuma and I have decided to have a soul bound feature!” Grian said with a smile, and a series of groans could be heard from some hermits,

“However, only a few have opt out because of personal reasons, and we have unlimited respawns,“ Xisuma explained and everyone nodded.

“So we’ll active the command soon but please meet the newest hermit,” Xisuma said. Nothing happened.

Doc wanted to say something but noticed someone behind Xisuma,

“Uh…X…who’s behind you?” He asked and Xisuma laughed and moved aside to reveal the newest member.

“This is Nerissa, she’s a allay hybrid, she has selective mutism. Please treat her nicely.” Xisuma said and Nerissa jolted when everyone said their greetings, they scared her and caused Nerissa to hide behind X. Everyone awhed at the cuteness which caused a dark blue hue to appear on the allay’s cheeks,

“Okay, everyone go off and get started, I’ll run the code in the next half hour.” Xisuma said and with that everyone went off, Nerissa stayed behind X, holding his shoulders, the admin laughed and gave Nerissa a pat in the head.

“Let’s get started,” he said and Nerissa nodded as a small nearly unnoticeable squeak left her lips.

Nerissa stuck with Xisuma who was exploring the seed with Ren, Cleo and Gem,

“So X, how do you know Nerissa?” Gem asked as she observed how the new hermit clung to the admin,

“Oh, Nerissa and I are family friends, my family and Neri’s family were business partner and we met during a meeting they had,” Xisuma said and Neri nodded. Gem smiled,

“That’s cool dude, to be friends with a fairy hybrid, bonus for her being adorable,” Ren said, a laugh escaping his lips, Xisuma laughed,

“Neri is cute, but she’s more of a little sister to me,” the admin explained. While the group talked Nerissa wondered off because she saw a small patch of flowers, it was a mix of cornflowers and Lilies, she started picking flowers.

It wasn’t long till Nerissa saw something appear above her head.

Nerissa was confused, she was going to ask on her comm but it was already been talked about

||Tango> Ahhh….so it’s the same as double life

||Grian> Yup!

||GoodTimeWithScar> We would hit people to see who we were linked with

||Rendoy> Someone hit me!

||Docm77> we’ll wait…

||Rendog> TwT unfortunately, Cleo, Xisuma, Gem or Nerissa

||Nerissa> Can confirm

||Nerissa> did not take any damage

||Docm77> I took damage…4 times

||Rendog> I found my soulmate!

||Nerissa> …Doc how did you take damage? Four times?

||Rendog> because you hit me…wait

||Nerissa> waiting…

||Xisuma> uh…where are you Neri?

||Nerissa> a meadow biome! It’s also near a stream!

Nerissa put her comm away and decided to live in the meadow, it was a lovely place to build her starter base, the area was full of living flora and fauna and it had a very beautiful river that wrapped around the meadow and the nearby mountains. Nerissa was quick to collect some oak wood from the nearby trees and build a bridge, and she liked having a simple start and building up from nearly nothing. From a young age, Neri knew she was a builder. She could never understand red stone like Xisuma, she was to much of a wuss to go mining with her older siblings, she never had any interest in whatever black market stuff her late father did and she never knew what her mother did. Nerissa kept building.

Grian was walking around a mangrove swamp with Impulse and Tango, the three had checked if they were linked and they weren’t but since a mangrove swamp can be big and dense they decided to stay with each other while exploring.

“Who do you think you’re paired up with?” Tango asked, making small talk,

“I hope it’s not Scar, I did double life with him, and I don’t think I’ll be able to do a full season of hermitcraft with him.” Grian said jokingly. To be fair, he wouldn’t mind being paired with Scar as the two were close and he did it before so he could do it again not to mention he was Scar’s human shield and killer in 3rd life. Now that he was thinking back on it he would do anything for Scar, he wouldn’t say he’s a simp but he’d definitely risk his life for him.

“Grian!”

When he heard his name he turned around and before he could say anything he felt the ground disappeared from under his feet, and in that moment everything felt like it was in slow motion, he felt himself falling slight and he saw Impulse and Tango run towards him. Grian saw their lips moving but he couldn’t understand what they were saying.

For Tango and Impulse the whole thing was happening very quickly. Tango ran forward to try and catch Grian,

“Impulse!” the blaze yelled,

“I’ll need help,” and Impulse gave him a nod, Tango ran for Grian and managed to stop him from falling by wrapping his arms around his waist. Impulse helped by holding Tango.

“Uh…hey?” Tango said, awkwardly,

“Hi…” Grian replied. In the end Tango and Impulse saved Grian from falling and having his first death. The trio talked about it and then started joking around.

“Ahhhh, I’m going to fall!” Grian said dramatically as Tango wrapped his arms around Grian, using his hands to support Grian’s back, as he dipped him,

“I’ll save you!” Tango said and the two looked into each other’s eyes in a over dramatic way that made Impulse laugh.

“My hero!” Grian said as he hugged Tango and gave him a kiss (platonic) on the cheek. As the three continued to joked around they didn’t notice a certain person watching on the other side of the ravine. Scar.

Scar watched as Tango held Grian in a dip position, as if they were dancing, and continued to watch as Grian threw himself at Tango in a hug and kiss the blaze’s cheek. He turned around and walked away before he saw anything else happen. His heart ached, he knew that they were randomly put as soulmates during double life, but he couldn’t deny that he had feelings for the younger ones. He thought that Grian reciprocated his feelings, all of the time they spent together on the different LifeSMP sub-servers, the time they spent on the 100 hour hardcore server and their time on Hermitcraft, but after seeing how he and Tango were together he must of gotten all wrong.

Scar walked for what seemed forever that he didn’t know where he was, Scar looked around and decided to check his coordinates,

“Where am I?” He said to himself as he took out his Comm, he ignored the chat messages and checked,

“-3672, 274” he muttered, he decided to ask if anyone was near him.

||Xisuma> I’m not sorry

||Rendog> with Doc, sorry Dude

||Grian> I’m quite far but I can travel there

||GoodTimeWithScar> Don’t bother if you’re far Grian

||Nerissa> oh, I am! I’m -3693, 279

||GoodTimeWithScar> oh, I’ll be right there

||Grian> I’ll come that way too

||GeminiTay> Me too! I’m a few blocks way

||Xisuma> I’ll come to check on Neri

||Nerissa> Sumaaa! I’m fine you don’t need to baby me :T

Scar turned off his comm and started to walk to the coordinates Nerissa gave him, while walking he couldn’t get his mind off Grian, why was he going to go to the place? Why wasn’t he bringing Tango? Why wasn’t he staying with Tango? Many questions raced through his mind.

“Scar!” Some yelled,

“Ahhhhhh!” Scar Screamed and turned around to see Gem standing behind him.

“Oh-h-h-h…Gem…you scared,” he said and the deer hybrid laughed,

“Want to see if we’re soulmates?” Scar asked and Gem gave him a smile,

“Sure!” Gem said and Scar hit Gem and he didn’t take damage,

“Awhh, we aren’t soulmates,” Gem said and Scar gave her a pat on the back,

“It’s okay, we can still hangout,” Scar said and the two continued their way to Nerissa’s location.

Grain had gotten to the location a bit before Scar and everyone else, he looked around and saw the allay building, Grian saw a bridge and used that to cross the river,

“Nerissa, hello,” he said, Nerissa turned around, gave a shy wave and she was quick to hide behind a tree. Grian smiled and just admired what Nerissa had already built. It was a rustic victorian styled cottage,

“Wow, this is good, I like the mix of rustic and victorian,” Grian mentioned, a faint blush dusted Nerissa’s cheeks while a smile appeared, she liked the praise she got as she didn’t get much praise when she was younger. Grian kept looking around the build that he didn’t notice more people coming.

Gem and Scar soon arrived,

“Neri!” Gem shouted as she ran to the allay hybrid, Nerissa jumped and blushed at the physical contact, Scar stood there and waved to Nerissa, he turned and saw Grian,

‘I guess he did come after all,’ Scar thought to himself.

“Scar!” Grian yelled and ran into the older one’s back and hugging him from behind, Scar’s eyes widen and he remembered back to what happened at the ravine.

“What about Tango?” he asked,

“What?” Grian questioned as he stopped hugging Scar,

“Aren’t you and Tango an item or something?”

“What? No! Tango is in a relationship with Jimmy, Impulse and Zed!”

“Huh? But the ravine…the dip and the kiss in the cheek…” Scar was visible confused. Grian laughed,

“Tango saved me from the Ravine and Impulse, Tango and I were joking about it.” the avian explained.

“I am however waiting,” Grian said and Scar looked at him,

“Waiting for what?” he questioned. Grian looked at Scar and walked towards Scar.

“I’m waiting for a certain person to…you know,”

“Ask me out,” and with that Grian gave Scar a light peck in the lips before running off a bit, and Scar stood there confused,

“Oh- you pesky bird!” Scar said and ran after the avian.

“They seem to be happy,” Gem said and Nerissa nodded and gave Gem a light hit, they both took damage. Gem gasped and Nerissa blushed,

“Oh my gosh…We’re soulmates!” Gem squealed and hugged Nerissa, the Allay blushed and hid her face in Gem’s neck,

“Now what’s going on here?” Asked a voice, Gem turned around and saw Keralis,

“Well…” Gem said dragging out the word,

“I don’t normally brag but…i got the cutest soulmate,” Nerissa buried her face deeper into Gem’s neck.

Season ten was definitely going to be interesting-

“Noooooooo!” Everyone turned around and saw Grian sitting in Scar’s lap with Scar rocking side to side,

“Hehehe….we’re soulmates again,” Scar said looking up at everyone,

“I hate you….” Grian said,

“No you don’t,” Scar said back and kissed Grian’s cheek.

Season ten was definitely going to be interesting.

Chapter Text

Nerissa went back to building the house, with the help of Scar, Grian and Keralis started a small farm and Gem was collecting materials, it was t long till Xisuma came,

“Hey sorry I’m late,” the admin said, the moment Nerissa heard Suma’s voice she bolted to him and gave him a hug that caused him to hit the ground and taking some fall damaged,

“Ow…” both Xisuma and Keralis said at the same time and Nerissa just looked between the two and pointed between the two of them, Keralis noticed and smiled,

“Sheshwamy! We’re linked!” Keralis said and Xisuma nodded, still having Nerissa on him,

“Neri…can you get off of me?” Xisuma asked and the allay did, Keralis helped up his soulmate and the two talked. Nerissa continued on the build till she died. Scar looked at where she disappeared only for her to pop up again next to a bed,

“Uh…who died?” Xisuma asked and he processed to check his comm.

||ImpusleSV> Noooooo! Gem! Nerissa!

||Grian> Flashbacks to how Tango and Timmy found their soulmate

||TangoTek> DONT TALK ABOUT MY BOYFRIEND LIKE THAT!

||ImpulseSV> Yeah! Don’t talk about our boyfriends like that!

||Zedaph> what? Oh, Yeah!!!!!!

||Nerissa> I’m fine

||Nerissa> uh…@GeminiTay?

||GeminiTay> at spawn…I lost the iron

||Nerissa> it’s okay, Suma can make an Iron farm

||Xisuma> She can’t do red stone

Xisuma put his comm away,

“I’ll go get Gem and bring her back here,” Xisuma said before walking to spawn, the other four hermits stayed in the meadow and kept building and farming.

Nerissa and scar had finally finished the exterior of the house,

“Should we add a second level?” Scar inquired, Nerissa looked at Scar and tilted her head in confusion,

“We could build other houses, or build underground or..wait!” Scar yelled and everyone looked to him, even Gem and Xisuma looked to Scar when they got back,

“Do you and Gem want us here? Like this was originally Nerissa’s starter base, then she found out Gem was her soulmate so I would guess they’d stay here together and Grian, Xisuma, Keralis and I kind of just appeared,” Scar explained, everyone started conversing and Nerissa just stood there. She wasn’t good at communicating and she had a lot of thoughts running through her head, she didn’t want everyone to leave, she was okay with everyone here but she didn’t want it to feel like she was forcing them to stay. Nerissa saw Xisuma looking at her and she rushed to him,

“What are you thinking?” he asked, and everyone looked to the two and Nerissa’s mouth moved but no one heard what she said, Xisuma smiled and gave her a head pat.

“Nerissa is fine with everyone here but she doesn’t want us to feel forced to stay here,” Xisuma explained and everyone gave small smiles,

“We’d love to stay here!” Scar said cheerfully,

“Yeah! Who would eat all of these crops Keralis and I planted?” Grian asked showing off the somewhat big garden he and Keralis planted,

“I like the idea if being here with everyone,” Gem perked up and everyone collectively agreed they would stay in this area,

“….so…do we add a second level or do we dig down?” Scar asked, Nerissa laughed, went over and started to try and explain what to do next.

It was now nightfall, and the house was done, it was a double story rustic victorian with three bedrooms, two storage rooms, a place to do smelting and a mini kitchen with a place to eat. Nerissa and Scar were proud of themselves and Gem had just finished on doing so exterior with some trees and bushes and a path.

“This is so nice!” Keralis said and Scar thanked him, Nerissa wanted to attempt to say thank you but ended up signing it, Xisuma translated the sign,

“You two are very welcome, now lets get inside away from the mobs,” and everyone went inside.

“Are we going to sleep with our soulmate?” Grian asked and everyone nodded and went to the room if their choice,

“Oh! Also you can either choose to sleep in the same bed or separate beds, Nerissa and I put two beds in the chests so you can choose.” Scar said,

“You’re sleeping in the same bed as me mister,” Grian said and Scar just laughed.

Nerissa and Gem were in their room, they decided to put two single beds together and sleep next to each other, they were comfortable with the arrangement,

“Would you like to change first?” Gem asked and got a nod from Nerissa,

“Okay! I’ll go wait outside!” she said and walked outside of the room and waited. She knew she could go back in when she heard the door open and saw Neri’s head pop out, Gem went back in and when she saw what the Allay hybrid was wearing she squealed,

“Awhhh! So cuteeee!”

Nerissa was wearing a while skill nightgown that was two times her size and her wings were visible, she blush and quickly left the room so Gem could change.

When the two were dressed in their pjs they got into bed, Nerissa was going to sleep on ‘her side’ but Gem asked is they could cuddle and Nerissa loved cuddles. So the two spent their first night in tangled in one another’s arms.

As for the other soulmates, Keralis was just laying in bed wide awake, didn’t really needed sleep but he liked it so he would sleep sometimes, as for Xisuma, he was a voidwalker, and voidwalkers are normally time blind as they grow up in the void. So the admin was slightly wake but he was drifting off as Keralis was drawing circles on his palm.

For Scar and Grain, they were sleeping like logs, Grian was on top of Scar using his wings as a blanket of them both and Scar was just sleeping soundly hugging the avian.

Wonder what’s in store next for our soul bounds.
