Chapter Text

“Are you just going to keep up with this pining or are you going to finally make a move?”

“H-h-huh??”

Because of the little scare Suletta almost slammed herself into the wall, something that would´ve been surprising considering she had been walking in the middle of the hall. Recovering from the surprise she saw the one responsible for startling her. Guel stood on the side of the hall looking at her with a neutral expression on his face; if someone had told the mercurian girl a few months ago that Guel Jeturk would become part her friend list she would have never believed them, but her life had been nothing but full of unexpected turns since she first set foot on Asticassia.

“I’m talking about Miorine and your never-ending yearning.”

Ah yes, there was also that unexpected turn of events, her crush on one of her closest friends: Miorine Rembran.

“Ah, I-umm…well, I’m not- she-…I don’t know what you are talking about.”

Guel’s eyes narrowed, he might be a bonehead sometimes but he wasn't blind, despite that Suletta was trying to act normal around Miorine it was still kind of obvious that what she felt towards her was deeper than friendship…and he could see that she was not the only one that felt that way, but that was not something for him to say.

“Look, it was kind of fun to watch in the beginning, but now you’re just running away from the situation.”

Since Suletta had become aware of her feelings things had been a little…different. Her heart and stomach seemed act on their own, doing flips and flops every time the white-haired girl was near accompanied by the urge to hold her hand. When challenged to a duel she felt the need to fight with all her strength and more, the need to finish it as soon as possible. The quick glances towards her when she thought no one was looking (several members of the Earth House noticed and let her know they were rooting for her, to the pilot’s bashfulness). The need to keep Miorine happy and safe from any harm that may come her way.

But…she would constantly remember their deal; she would keep the Holder status so Miorine could have the chance to escape to Earth before her 17th birthday, the chance to accomplish her dream. At the beginning she expected that it would be hard to say goodbye to her friend, now she knew that when the moment arrived, she would be devastated. Miorine surely didn’t even feel the same, so she just kept quiet about it. Fully convinced that she was now stuck in an unrequited love. Guel watched as Suletta’s face fell with a dejected look, let out a small sigh and walked towards her.

“What I’m saying is that you should stop making yourself suffer, ‘If your run, you gain one. If you move forward, you gain two’ right?”

She had used that phrase countless times, most times to help someone else. Those words of courage that her mom gave her; if she ran, she could avoid a possible rejection but if she moved forward, she would get this off her chest…maybe, and just maybe she would find a surprise.

“…Y-you think I might have a chance if I take the risk? Nika told me that people’s wishes could change and adapt overtime but if I have a chance, I do not want to make her choose between Earth and me.”

“Who knows, but there is a way to find out and that is-”

“Moving forward”

Suletta now had a small smile on her face, she was starting to feel a little nervous thinking how she could make Miorine know how she felt. Her reference on romance seemed to be a little outdated according to other members of her house, she would need backup, as much as she could get.

“Can you help me?”

Guel looked at her, expecting to see something that indicated that she was joking, Suletta just kept a slightly determined look on her face. She was serious about it. He grimaced a little remembering his actions when the mercurian first arrived.

“You know I’m not an expert on this, right? Remember how I acted a few months ago, I’m not exactly… wingman material.”

“You can’t just say all of this to me and not be willing to help.”

They just stared at each other for a few seconds before Guel let out a small chuckle and nodded.

“Alright… Where do we start?”
