"Just confess to him already"
Chan sighed after listening to Jeongin's blabbering about how attractive and amazing Seungmin looked while playing a friendly bet against Jisung and Hyunjin.
Jeongin couldn't keep his eyes off of him and it was so obvious for anyone except for Seungmin.
"I'm scared of getting rejected again." Jeongin looked down, his voice was weak and almost inaudible as the past confessions resurfaced in his mind.
It all ended on a bad note to him. There's nothing to deny that Jeongin always be the first one to make a move but due to getting rejected every time, he suppressed his feelings towards Seungmin. Yet he still fell for him even though he did his best not to.
"Innie he likes you! Can you see how he behaves with you? he is a big softy for you!"
It was now Felix's turn to convince the youngest but all Jeongin can think of are the negative outcomes. He shakes his head.
"What if he's just like that because he knows about my pathetic love story rejections??"
"Maybe or maybe not. Who knows." Minho shrugs, not looking from the game Jisung asked him to look, he's too busy playing on his phone.
"We can't force either of you to confess, Innie. But try to tell him as soon as possible. We just want you to be happy." Changbin suggested patting the younger's shoulder.
Everyone went silent as they saw Seungmin approaching to them with a triumphant smile. The rest of the members could only let out sympathetic sighs and congratulate Seungmin for winning the bet.
Seungmin, isn't new about Jeongin's confession failure so he was always careful when I.N's around, avoiding to hurt his feelings. Or he mistakenly say something that lead to making Jeongin sad. Seungmin can't help but to be worried all the time. But he can't do anything.
Seungmin tried to gave him subtle hints like getting protective whenever The younger got a bit close to others, treats him when he decides to go shopping together, help him in almost everything, or that one time when he almost punched the guy who not only rejected Jeongin but also insulted him. He can't let anyone hurt Jeongin's feelings even more.
One day he was so close on screaming about how he feels towards Jeongin but after seeing his fragile state, Seungmin decided it wasn't a good time. He saw how the younger was struggling with bearing things, how much tears he cried and how many nights Jeongin talks about surrendering on love. Seungmin was quick to cheer him up. He want to tell Jeongin how badly he feel towards him but he didn't want to take advantage of the closeness they have even though he heard that Jeongin had feelings for him.
He sat beside Jeongin and greeted him. Jeongin tried to act normal by ruffling his hair to which Seungmin closed his eyes. And lean on his touch. Others started to leave to do their own businesses leaving them both.
"You did a great job!" Jeongin smiled genuinely giving Seungmin a thumbs up.
"Thanks, Iyen. If it wasn't for your techniques, I wouldn't have won." He playfully nudged his shoulder making Jeongin blushed and embarrassed at the fact that he saw Seungmin's overly excited face close to him.
"Of course... of course, I would share some more. If it's not me then who would? Right?"
"You are so damn precious, Innie"
Jeongin's eyes slightly widened. Seungmin scratched his nape realizing what he said, coughing in hopes that the awkwardness vanishes.
"I have to tell you something."
"I have to tell you something."
They looked at each other for few seconds before Seungmin asked the younger to go first.
Jeongin took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself to utter the three words. He knows Seungmin won't hurt him even though he didn't feel the same way. Atleast Seungmin will never judge him.
"I... I think... I am falling for you Min... no scratch that. I like you." he looked down fidgeting his fingers, his heart beating so much faster.
Seungmin caught himself holding his breath, unable to comprehend the fact that Jeongin confessed to him. He felt his lips stretch into a smirk at the sudden idea.
This might not be the right time but he wanted to have fun.
"I don't like you." He stated and saw Jeongin's face turning pale in seconds.
"It... it's okay if you don't feel the same." his eyes starts to water and tried not to crack his voice. Another rejection again. He thought that it won't hurt when Seungmin said that but he was wrong. It was painful.
"I don't like you, Innie... I love you."
Before Jeongin can even react, Seungmin caught him off guard, cupping his face and attaching their lips.
When the younger didn't reciprocate, Seungmin leaned forward a bit more, gripping his sides. As cliche as it sounded, Jeongin felt butterflies in his stomach and slowly kissed him back. Snake his arms around Seungmin's neck to deepen the kiss.
Such a simple act made Jeongin lose his mind. He didn't know that his lips are so soft. He wish the did it sooner. Seungmin pulled back when Jeongin whimpered softly. He chuckled as he caught him hiding his crimson face by hugging him.
He looked at him, slightly panting and slowly embraced him.Jeongin couldn't wish for the day to be this lucky. They silently walked out of the dance room only to be greeted by the whistles and teasing of the members. Seungmin hugged Jeongin keeping him close to his side defensively.
