Work Text:

Enid strolled into the Weathervane, the place was nearly empty, except for an old couple sitting in one of the booths.

She looked around and spotted Yoko sitting in a booth near the corner, drinking a Coca-Cola with a straw.

Just the person I wanted to see.

She walked up to the counter, rang the bell, and waited for someone to answer.

A few seconds passed before a barista came to take her order.

“What can I get you, Enid?” Tyler inquired.

“You know, the usual.” Enid decided.

Tyler playfully rolled his eyes.

“Coming right up, might take a while.”  He advised walking into the back room.

“Take all the time you need.” She called after him.

It’s a good thing Tyler was working today, he was the only one who memorized her order. She didn’t want to spend an extra twenty minutes explaining her order, only for them to get it wrong.

Enid’s go-to order was a strawberry milkshake with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel, and strawberry drizzle on the sides, with extra whipped cream and topped with sprinkles, strawberries, and three cherries on top.

On some days she would even order sugar cookies, the owner makes the best desserts.

It’s a simple order, she doesn’t know why they kept getting it wrong, even the owner has trouble remembering it.

I got this. Just ask her. Enid psyched herself up as she walked towards Yoko.

“I need dating advice,” Enid said as she slid into the booth across from the goth vampire.

“You want dating advice from me?” Yoko pointed to herself with a bewildered look on her face.

“Well, Wednesday and I-“

Yoko quickly looked up from her Coca-Cola and directed her focus on the werewolf before her.

“Wait,” Yoko raised her hands to silence Enid. “Hold on.”

“Your dating Wednesday Addams?” Yoko’s eyebrows rose high in surprise as she shot a glance at Enid.

"Um, yeah? Didn't I tell you?" Enid stopped talking and looked up at her.

"Um, no." The vampire shook her head.

"Oh." The blonde seemed to be panicking a little. She could’ve sworn she told Yoko.

“Say it,” Yoko said bringing Enid out of her thoughts.

“What?“ She looked back up at Yoko.

“Say you’re dating Wednesday Addams.” She repeated.

“Why?” Confusion was written all over Enid’s face, you could hear it in her voice too.

“I want to hear you say it.”

“I’m dating Wednesday Addams.” She admitted.

“Feel’s good, doesn’t it?“ Yoko grinned at her.

“Yeah.” Enid breathed out, smiling to herself.

It did feel good, sure, she repeated the words in her head before. It felt different saying them out loud, a good different.

“Now, why do you want my advice?” The undead girl questioned her.

“Well, you’re dating Bianca.” The werewolf said as if it were the obvious answer.

Shaking her head slowly, Yoko sighed, “Just because I’m dating Bianca, doesn’t mean I know how I did it.”

“How did you and Bianca start dating?” Enid asked emphasizing ‘did’.

“Do you really wanna know?” Yoko smirked.

“Yes.” Enid’s eyes were filled with anticipation.

Everyone at Nevermore wanted to know how the siren and vampire got together, however they were terrified to ask.

This is Enid first chance to hear how they got together.

The whole thing was one big puzzle.

As far as everyone knew, one time Bianca and Yoko disappeared all day, no one seen them. The next day they were talking and laughing, as if they’d been friends for a long time.

The following week after that, they were seen kissing in the halls, making them official.

“I was running in the hallway because I was late for class, and when I turned the corner I bumped into her, knocking her out. I spent the next period in the infirmary, waiting for her to wake up.” Yoko told her.

“Wait, really?!” Enid's eyes widened.

It’s hard to believe Nevermore’s perfect couple started dating because a vampire couldn’t control their own strength.

“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, we may never know.” The vampire states nonchalantly, taking a sip of her drink.

Damn, I guess Wednesday has another mystery to solve.

Tyler came to their table and sat her drink down in front of her.

“Thanks.” Enid smiled at him.

The barista gave her a quick nod before walking away.

“There’s no way that could be healthy,” Yoko said in disbelief.

“Fast metabolism, remember?” She said taking a sip of her milkshake.

“I’m surprised your teeth haven’t fallen out by now.”

“Another perk of being a werewolf.” Enid grins, showing off her pointed teeth. “Strong teeth.”

Yoko gave her a quiet snicker.

Enid took a long sip of her milkshake.

Perfect.

“That good, huh?” Yoko teases.

“Yeah, how’d you know?” She asks.

“You’re doing your happy food dance.” Yoko replies.

“My happy food dance?” Enid said confused.

“You do a little dance every time your food is good,” Yoko replies.

Enid stops what she was doing and looked at herself, she was indeed dancing. Her body was moving side to side, she hadn’t realized she did a happy dance until Yoko pointed it out.

“Huh,” The blonde sighs.

Did I always do this?

“Look, the best advice I could give you is, to be yourself. If you spend too much time pretending to be someone else, she’ll never know the real you.”

“I'm not pretending.” The blonde defended.

“Are you?” Yoko questioned.

“No, not with Wednesday” She said honestly. That is true, Enid never had to put her walls up with the dark-haired girl.

Wednesday never cared what anyone thought of her, Enid on the other hand was a different story.

But it was different with Wednesday, Enid didn’t have to hide under a face with her. Wednesday was blunt she told it as it was, not what others want to hear.

Wednesday was different and Enid loves that about her.

“Then what are you afraid of?”

“What if” Enid pauses “What if she doesn’t like me?”

“Enid if she didn’t like you, she wouldn’t have gone out with you.”

That’s true, Wednesday wasn’t one to openly show her emotions. If Wednesday didn’t like her, she would just avoided her in the first place.

“It’ll be fine, I promise.” The vampire reassured her.

“Yeah, it will.” Enid got up and slide into Yoko’s side of the booth.

“Thanks Yoko.” Enid pulls Yoko in for a hug. “You’re the best.”

“I know,” Yoko says giving her a pat on the back.

Enid smiled as she left, knowing exactly how she was plan the date.

Notes:

Not gonna lie, I'm starting to ship these two.
