Fili put the report down, “this is my life's work,” he held his breath for a second, “they said I couldn’t do it, but here it is, proof that I am not going insane! That this wasn't in vain!”
Fili took the camera and put it on the tripod in front of the pod that housed his life’s work. It was far from finished, only in pre-installation. The ‘brain’ looking more like a glowing brain-shaped lava lamp.
“That right there will prove them wrong, AI is not just an assistant or workers, they can be something more. All natural code, emitting its own energy, the engineers and fabricators said it was a fool's game to go through with my design. This is not a waste of resources or my intellect, this is a breakthrough beyond what anyone would have thought!”
Fili abandoned the camera on the tripod and walked over to the pod. He gently put a hand over the protective casing, grasping it and lifting it from the pod. There were wires he needed to be careful with, still connected to the ‘brain’. “I know that you are thinking you just don’t know it yet, I’ll bring you back,” he said to it softly.
"I promised didn't I?"
