Day 13 - Running a bath

Work Text:

“I’m glad I’m not physically pregnant or I would have to be careful even about this,” I groaned.

Nicodemus indulged me with a smile. He started the bath for me because I had trouble with such simple tasks these days and was spooning bath salt into the hot water. I had enchanted that myself although I had always been shitty with healing magic so it was mostly just Epsom salt and eucalyptus.

It would be a few more days and Bonea would be out of my head – quite literally. I was already fond of her, and I knew neither Lasciel nor Nic would let anything happen to either of us in the process. She was too valuable, and they liked me and my big mouth too much.

In the meantime, my head felt like it was going to split open. I eased myself into the giant tub that managed to accommodate even my long limbs and tipped my head back against the edge.

“Wanna get in and take my mind off the headache?” I asked, waggling my eyebrows at Nic.

He shook his head in a fond but exasperated manner, and crouched behind me, sliding his hands onto my shoulders.

“You should rest, Harry,” he informed me, as he started to knead my muscles. It immediately relieved some of the tension, but I still pouted.

“I’m not made out of glass. And I’m not actually pregnant, you do realize?”

Nic chuckled.

“Two more days. You’ll survive that, now hush.”

I did, but only because his hands cupped the side of my head gently and he started massaging my temples, fingers sliding over my hairline. It felt heavenly, so I forgave him for turning me down.

“But after that…?”

I mumbled.

“Yes, Harry, after,” he promised, his voice making me shiver with anticipation.

The lower part of my anatomy started to become very interested so I cleared my throat awkwardly.

“Hey, you want to be the godfather? I think it would be funny.”
