Come on, we're (watching) superheroes! What's the worst that could happen?

Summary:

Day 11- Companion + “Cuddling in a blanket fort”

Canon Caelum and Canon Freelancer: Caelum and Freelancer spend time together while they wait for Gavin to go through his first day of his new class. As per usual, the two of them watch movies and cuddle.

“Okay, so you want to start at the first one?” They turned to find him hugging a pillow to his chest. He nodded excitedly and scooted closer to them even though he could see just fine. “Cool, cool. Umm, okay so be warned that there’s a lot of violence in this movie. You cool with that?”

He nodded and slouched. “Yeah that’s fine! I feel like I’ve seen worse.”

“Well, my fine little companion, sit back, relax, and enjoy my beloved childhood.”

Work Text:

“Try not to burn down the house, okay you two?”

The Freelancer rolled their eyes with a grin and they chuckled. They pulled him in for a kiss and giggled against his lips. “You’ve left us alone together for longer, Gav. We know how to watch movies without committing arson.”

“What’s arsenon?” Caelum asked curiously, running up to them excitedly with a grin on his face.

Gavin and Freelancer looked at each other and nervously laughed. The Freelancer let go of his shirt and wrapped their arms around Caelum’s shoulders to distract him. “It’s umm…” They looked to Gavin for help.

“I should probably get going!” He said to distract Caelum, and it worked.

Caelum frowned and went to give Gavin a hug before he left. “Promise you’ll be back as soon as possible? You promised we would all watch Megamind with the popcorn you bring back.”

Gavin chuckled and patted Caelum’s head with a smile. “Yes yes, I promise you we will. I would never leave you hanging, little buddy.”

He grinned and waved at Gavin when he walked out. The Freelancer smiled and waved at him also, getting ready to shut the door behind him. “Have fun, Gavin. And if you don’t understand anything, feel free to text me! Lasko is great at explaining things but if needed, I’ve sat through that class before.”

“I appreciate that, Deviant.” He kissed them, exhaling deeply against their lips so he could soak in all their comfort.

He smiled at them one more time, expressing all of his nerves to the two of them, before he turned and walked out the door.

The Freelancer sighed as they shut the door behind him. They could see just how nervous he was. They could pretty much feel how nervous he was about his new class.

Gavin was a person who was capable of retaining plenty of information in one spot. He had told them he had done it many times before. But Gavin had people rooting for him and what he wanted.

That could be much scarier than the class itself.

Disappointment.

“He knows you could never be disa-dis-disap-pointed in him, don’t worry silly.” Caelum grinned at them and reached out to take their hand. “He’ll do fine! Now come on, you said we could start with uhhh…”

“The Incredibles?” The Freelancer said with a smile.

“Yeah! That one! I’m excited to see the baby that you always talk about.” He pulled them towards the living room enthusiastically.

The Freelancer looked at the middle of the room and their eyes widened when they saw a huge pillow and blanket fort in front of the couch. “Wow. Caelum did you do this?”

Caelum grinned and his cheeks flushed. “Well yeah! I figured we deserved to have a nice place to watch these movies. You can’t watch movies without a comfortable place to watch them! That would mean you aren’t enjoying movies to the fullest.”

The Freelancer laughed and ruffled Caelum’s hair, making him giggle and swat their hand away.

“Thanks little buddy.” They said, grabbing his hand so they could pull him into the fort. It was a little strange laying down on the floor at first, but they turned on their laptop and did their best to get comfortable anyway.

They would do whatever made Caelum happiest.

Caelum decided to ditch the pillow and laid down next to them, huddling up to them eagerly. They put a pillow under his head and wrapped their arms around him from behind.

“Come on, we’re watching superheroes! What’s the worst that could happen?”

The Freelancer kissed his head and smiled widely at him. “You would get along fine with Elastigirl.” They whispered to him, resting their head on the pillow with him. They laughed when his fluffy hair tickled their nose, and they decided to rest their chin above his head.

“Elastigirl…” Caelum whispered.

“Elastigirl.” They repeated.
