Summary
Barbarians Katsuki and Deku arrive at the nearest city in Yuuei to trade for supplies the clan can't make or grow. It's a necessary task, but one Katsuki hates. The city is cramped, and all Katsuki can think of is getting back to the wide-open plains of his homeland.
But the trip back is interrupted when a dragon appears. Katsuki has always wanted to fight a dragon, but since the magical beasts have all but disappeared from the mainland, he never thought he'd get the chance. When it becomes clear that the dragon is targeting them for some reason, Katsuki doesn't hesitate to engage it in battle.
Just when Katsuki gets the upper hand, the dragon changes, revealing itself to be a shifter. When Katsuki and Deku hear why the dragon came after them, they vow to help. And the best way to do that it to take Kirishima back to the clan.
Katsuki isn't sure where the sudden protectiveness he's feeling towards Kirishima is coming from. Love at first sight has always sounded so shallow to him. But what if it's a real thing? It would certainly explain his feelings.
Luckily, Kirishima feels it too, and has his own explanation. Every dragon shifter knows about fated mates. And Kirishima thinks he's just found his.
