Sometimes Peter remembers the smell of Terran rain when he hears water and the sound of TV in the night, McDonald's golden arches through the back windshield, dogs chasing the postman, contrails in the sky. Now he says, can you believe some planets are using communication devices with cords still! Now he thinks, what a strange color for a sky. Now he remembers the sound of phaser fire, the first time he ever saw a binary star system, and, very faintly, the ugly white of a hospital room.
