Pocky Day

Summary:

Azzy wants to play a game, but Kadin refuses to lose. A quick work to celebrate the day of pocky.

Work Text:

"What's wrong? Afraid you'd lose to a girl?" A vixen teases her cabbit friend with a smug grin. A single stick of pocky hangs out the corner of her mouth as she leans over the back of one of the living room couches and stares at the lounging hybrid. Her burgundy tail sways playfully behind her and her piercing yellow eyes stare daggers into him, enticing him to play along.

"No, Azzy. I just don't want to play such a stupid game" His pink fur spikes up and his twin feline tails thrash wildly as he huffs in annoyance. "What's the point of playing if I don't get anything for winning?"

"That's implying you'd ever win, Kadin." She crunches down on the stick with only two bites then pulls out another from the box in her hand. "We both know you'd chicken out."

"Just because I don't want to play, doesn't mean I'm going to lose!"

"Then prove it, loser."

"No!"

The fox gives an exasperated sigh. "I bet if I had a different kind of stick, you'd be happy to choke on it then."

"Yeah. I would." He shoots his friend a dirty look. "Why don't you switch then?" Rather than respond, the demon shrugs her shoulders. "Can't I at least get some kind of reward for when I win?"

"If you win." She shoots back with a point of a pocky stick to which Kadin rolls his eyes. "But sure. Anything you want, I'll let you have, but I'll have anything I want if I win. Deal?" She offers a free hand for the cabbit to shake. He doesn't even think about it. Instantly, he's on his feet and walks into the vixen's out stretch hand and shakes it.

"Wait. What about if there's a draw?"

"There won't be a draw." She says with a cackle. "But if there is, I guess we'll just have to fight over the last bite with our tongues. Now saddle up, cowboy." Before he can even whine about the rules, Azzy sticks a tip of one of the chocolate sticks in her mouth and holds it out for the roommate. He huffs once more before taking his end into his mouth, holding his end with only his front teeth.

"On hree." She mutters around the stick. "Hone. Who. Hree!" She bits down on her end and already starts chewing. However, Kadin isn't far behind. Like a chipmunk, he expertly nibbles off and chews piece by piece of the short breadstick. While he's eager to get to the middle as soon as possible, Azzy decides to focus more on the psychological warfare. She reaches a hand up and cups his cheek as she leans forward while chewing. This catches the hybrid's attention enough for him to look up and right into her bright yellow eyes. She breathes out a laugh that tickles his nose and his breath immediately hitches.

「Gotcha.」 Her voice echoes through his mind through their mental link and she takes a massive bite forward. This snaps him out of his flustered stupor and resumes biting with renewed vigor. However, it's too late. In no time at all, Azzy passes the middle of the stick, brushing her nose against the cabbit's before snapping it off and snacking on the rest of her stick in victory.

"Told ya I'd win." She smiles, but Kadin doesn't take the loss very gracefully.

"No fair! You cheated!" His foot thumps on the carpeted apartment floor as he turns his head away from her.

"All's fair in love and pocky, kiddo."

"That's crap! I demand a rematch!"

"Nu. Uh! Deal's a deal!"

While the two bicker, a third challenger enters the living room. A seven foot tall demon with fur akin to the night sky and bright orange eyes and horns walks in with a confused tilt of his head.

"What are you two doing?" This is enough to catch the duo's attention. While Kadin looks at him and growls, Azzy smiles and shakes the box of pocky in her hands.

"Pocky game. It's a mortal tradition." She picks out a stick and shows it to him. "Two people start on opposite ends and race to eat half of the stick before the other person. And Kadin here just lost."

"Because you're a dirty cheater!" Kadin stomps his foot as he cries out, which makes the vixen laugh. Meanwhile, the third roommate looks on with curiosity.

"Can I play?" He asks with an air of innocent curiosity.

"Sure!" Azzy's quick to reply and tosses the box to the nameless demon. "I'm a bit too good at the game, so maybe you should play with Kadin." When he looks to the aforementioned cabbit, the two of them lock eyes and immediately growl at each other, their fur fluffing up in aggression.

"I'm not playing with Half-Breed." The demon's nickname for Kadin only serves to rile him up more as he snatches the box out of the demon's orange claws and pulls out a stick.

"If you don't play, you forfeit. So hurry up and get down here so I can kick your ass at this." He says as he glares up at the much taller infernal being. This seems to be an effective enough taunt as the demon leans down.

"Don't cry when you lose."

"That was one time! And you were way too rough! I told you to slow down, you prick." With that, he sets the stick in his mouth and offers the other end to him. Once both are properly at the starting line, Azzy begins the countdown.

"One. Two. Three!"

A smirk comes to the cabbit's mouth. There's no way he can win this. He thinks to himself. He's brand new! I've got this in the bag. Wasting no time, he begins chomping away, but his cocky attitude is immediately shaken when he realizes that the demon is making massive strides down the chocolate coated stick. The fear of yet another loss shocks his system and he goes into overdrive. Both practically inhale their respective ends and before long, they find that they are shout to snout with a large chunk of pocky left.

I WILL NOT LOSE! The thought reverberates through each of their minds and both simultaneously open their mouths and attack with their tongues. A fierce battle is engaged, hidden behind enrapped muzzles as the duo fight against each other the steal the final piece. Kadin manages to coil around and snag the stick, but when he tries to pull back, the demon grabs him by the back of his head and forces him back into the battle.

Shocked by the sudden grasp, he fails to react to the counterattack and his tongue his shoved to the side as nameless drags the stick from off his tongue and into his own mouth. However, Kadin easily adapts and mimics the demon's attack and pull him closer by wrapping his arms around his neck.

The back and forth goes on for quite a while. Each only taking a fraction of a second to catch their breaths before resuming the intense battle. For a moment, thibgs seem to be in Kadin's favor. The nameless one grows a bit tired and the hybrid takes advantage of this to push the stick to the back of his own throat in an attempt to swallow it whole. Yet, nameless isn't out of the battle yet and forces his tongue forward right into the hybrid's throat.

He chokes for a second, but quickly rights himself. However he's practically helpless as the larger demon's tongue drags along his throat, flicking and searching for the stick which is essentially just paste at this point. Tears well up in the cabbit's eyes and he melts in the demon's arms as he swallows the tongue again and again. Eventually, the battle ends and they seperate as each fighter gasps for air to fill their burning lungs.

"I… I… win!" Kadin rasps out between gasps.

"Bullshit." The demon wheezes back. "There's no way you swallowed that thing so fast."

"Azzy?" Both turn to the vixen who was watching with extreme focus. Her tail swishes madly as she shrugs.

"I couldn't tell." She gives them both a sinister smile. "Maybe you should play again?" They both cut their eyes at each other, still heaving before nameless raises the box again.

"Let's take this to the bedroom." There's a subtle twitch in the demon's pants that doesn't goes unnoticed by the cabbit.

"Deal." He nods as his nose flares and his tails flick to and fro. "And this time, slow down when I ask you to." He races off to his bedroom, with the demon close behind as he huffs,

"No promises."

All the while, Azzy walks behind them, snickering to herself. She loves Pocky Day.
