I think I just saw a goddess that descended from the Jade Palace. A vision in white has passed by me and I’m such a fool that I couldn’t even speak. I did manage to get a snap but its cause I’m a generous soul who wanted to show to the world the beautiful goddess who blessed Yiling U with her presence.
Ah, I really wish the university isn’t such a big campus now. I hope I can see her again.
EDIT: Fuck. She’s even more beautiful up close and when she speak, angels sing.
EDIT 2: Her name’s Lan Zhan and she’s not a student. She’s an Assistant Lecturer in the History Department and why W H Y didn’t I study history.

Two years ago, I made a post about a goddess that graced our Yiling University with her presence. I thank all heavens that Professor Lan doesn’t like using social media so she doesn’t know how much we all thirst for her. Thank goodness.
For freshies who hadn’t had the chance to gaze upon the goddess of Yiling U (not to be confused with Yiling U’s god aka Professor Shen of Literature Department), please check out our fellow students’ review in the uni’s website (yilinguniversity.co/professorratings/histodept/lan-zhan).
I know you might be doubtful, but Professor Lan isn’t just a pretty face. I mean, yeah, she is one of the most beautiful woman China has to offer and students have a hard time focusing on their studies in the face of this goddess, but can I just say that I took her courses as electives and it was amazing. She’s a strict teacher, but she is concise and she doesn’t leave a student behind.
People, despite the fact that we call her Professor Lan, let us not forget that the woman has a doctorate. Her credentials make her the kid your parents want to have.
Also, damn, her voice.
Apart from her mind, she’s also very talented. Go to bilibili and search “lan zhan guqin” and you’ll see our goddess as a child and teen playing in several competitions and feel terrible about yourself in the face of this prodigy. Prof also plays other instruments such as piano, guitar, and violin – so, continue to feel inferior.
BTW, one of our insiders in the Histo Dept said that Prof Lan is married with a son, but she’s so private with her personal life that no one knows other information. Other profs probably know but they respect her privacy, and we’re begging you all not to prod her if she doesn’t want to share.
And another insider of ours in the Student Affairs office gave us non-Histo majors the courses Prof Lan will teach next sem. She’ll continue to teach the General Education course HIST01 (Introduction to Mainland China History) and HIST02 (Introduction to History of Asia), so freshies, grab those because she only teaches one class for both courses. You’ll either get her or Professor Chu. For electives, she’ll handle HIST106 (Ancient Chinese History) and HIST121 (Ethnic History). Again, grab those because it only accepts 30 students per class.

Professor Lan is new to the Uni. She started teaching this semester and we’re her first students, but I think she deserves to be rated already. We had to prod the network office to put Prof Lan on the roster so we can rate her because the whole university needs to know that this amazing wonderful actual goddess teaches in YSU and she’s History Department’s. Take that, Literature Department! When she walked in the room during the very first day, we all gasped and I think one of our classmates actually cried because they felt so blessed to be in her presence. I think I did too. Apart from her beauty (which is out of this mortal world), Professor Lan is also well-read, she knows the subject well, and she doesn’t hesitate to answer questions. She’s available during her office hours and she takes the time to explain to us if we say we are having a hard time with the topic.

I’m in the same class (HIST100 A) and I can attest that one of us cried at her sheer beauty. She’s really beautiful, people. Professor Lan (full name Lan Zhan) has that ice cold persona outside, but when she talks about the subject, everything melts including our hearts. Professor Shen who? I only worship Professor Lan.

Whenever she speaks, you just can’t help but listen. She knows each student by name. She actually READS our papers because she leaves little comments on each and everyone of our papers on how we can improve our writing and research. She also returns them on a timely manner. Like, I can’t believe this woman ever sleeps because we passed it last week and by the next, she’s giving it back. 10/10 kind of professor. I hope she gets tenured.

Professor Lan entered YSU as an Assistant Lecturer, that means she’s still contractual. She deserves to get tenured!!! Best professor in the department! I’m sorry Professor Chu, Professor Leung, but I’m now part of the goddess’ followers. Yiling U, give our goddess more courses!! It’s unfair to us that she mostly handles major subjects and us poor non-Histo majors can’t be blessed by her presence.

Whenever she speaks, it’s like the gates of the heavens open and hundreds of goddesses play harp in the background. It’s sad we’re not allowed to record lectures because if we were, I’d put her voice on repeat every day. I know someone out here smuggled illegal voice record of the lecture but Professor Lan scolded them about how it would be better if they listen to her now and ask questions if they don’t understand something rather than repeat her lecture on record. She made them delete it but I’m sure one of you has a copy. Send me. Please. [email protected]
