COLD OPEN)
~INT. WOODSTONE MANSION - KITCHEN - MORNING~
JAY: Hey, babe! Good morning. (Gives SAM a forehead kiss) Have you checked the website yet?
SAM: Yeah -- we're all free.
JAY: Dang it! I knew we should've sacrificed those lamb chops like Thorfinn said to.
SAM: Oh please. I thought we agreed that those were too old and weirdly purple to treat the "mighty Norse Gods" with. They wouldn't have been pleased anyway.
THOR: She is correct. Lamb was gross
(MARK walks in)
MARK: Hey all, I'm gonna head out early so I can pick up my wife from work. We're heading to Broadway this weekend to see "Six the Musical."
JAY: Really? I didn't know she was caught up with all the new show tunes.
MARK: Yeah, her friend recommended it, so now I gotta go sit through it. (He turns around) Really hope it was worth $240...
(Mark exits)
JAY / SAM: Bye Mark!
PETE: (Mockingly) ByE MaRk! Ugh, I am SO glad he's gone now! Now we can all have the house to ourselves.
ALBERTA: Aw, that's a shame. I would've loved to visit Manhattan again. (sigh) Imagine the new kinds of shows I could see and perform in -- and get discounted tickets for. Hehe.
PETE: (nervously) W-Well I'm sure there's a bunch of cooler movie musicals on our TV upstairs than any live show!
ALBERTA: Well, true, but can you really beat the atmosphere and romantic tension of a live performance!? (sigh)
(Alberta exits)
PETE: (under his breath) Romantic tension? Musical atmosphere? Hmm...
(Thor slowly leans in closer to Pete and accidentally surprises him by speaking loudly)
THOR: WHAT DID YOU SAY, SMALL MAN?
PETE: Nothing! Nothing at all! Hahahaha -- Oh look! It seems like I got a thing in the, uhhh, living room! (nervously raises voice) WHY, YES, HELLO LIVING ROOM...
(Pete exits. Sam, Jay, Thor, and Sasappis share a look of confusion)
SAM: Well, since it seems like we're free for a few days, how about a --
SAM / JAY: A date night! / Date night! Woo!
THOR: What is "date night"?
SAM: Ooh! A date night, Thor, is when a couple dedicates a special night, or so, to do something romantic together.
JAY: Yeah. Ah, wow. It's been ages since we've had one, babe! We should head to the store so I can cook us up a special dessert --
SAM: -- And I'll get the wine & popcorn!
JAY: Still a weird combo.
SAM: Hey -- (pouts) Who's date night is it?
JAY: (sigh) Sam-cakes.
SAM: That's right, Jay-bae. (giggles)
(Sam and Jay kiss. Then she notices Thor and Sasappis still in the kitchen)
SAM: Oh, sorry, guys. Don't wanna bore you two for the rest of the day.
(Sasappis sees Pete talking to himself in the living room)
SASAPPIS: Oh, don't worry about us, Sam. I'm sure we'll find something... (he glances at Thor and raises his eyebrows) *fun* to focus on.
