Chapter Text
The scene was set. It was the biggest day of N's life. Not only was he celebrating his upcoming wedding with V, but it was Uzi's 17th birthday. The day couldn't be more perfect. Unfortunately, due to the Worker Drones not really having a church, the biggest building, I.E the school, was chosen to hold the wedding. The gigantic sports hall would host the main event, serving as the wedding isle, alter and party. N had put extensive efforts into making this the best day of both his and V's life, going the extra mile to give it the finishing and finalizing touches that he knew would keep V happy. His suit was fastened, skull cufflinks attached, hat equip and his hair tidied, N was ready for this.
Mostly.
1 hour before the wedding;
"Crap.. What if V doesn't like the decoration... What if she doesn't like the suit... What if she doesn't like the people!"
N rocked back and fourth on his chair with Thad trying to keep him calm, he had too much bubbling through his mind and he was going into a panic overdrive. "Chill N. You'll kill it out there."
Although Thad kept reassuring him otherwise, N still had that overall bad feeling, nervousness and dread and he just didn't know where the source was coming from. Sure he was suppose to be happy, but it was increasingly difficult to stay happy with the amount of thought he was processing. "Thad... I'm.. Really nervous... What if I mess up with talking? I don't want to look like a fool..."
Thad hooked his arm around N's shoulders and gave him a smile. "Relax N, nerve is completely normal. You have every right to feel nervous, but I am confident that you will get out there and show the colony that you are going to be the best husband ever. You got this man."
N smiled back. "Thanks Thad." He sighed.
The minutes ticked by, feeling like an eternity. N tried to keep himself occupied by distracting himself, using old memories of the fun he has had with Uzi and V. It made him feel grateful that people cared about him in the end. Originally he thought he would never get V's love, never achieve any form of friendship with Uzi and yet here he was, marrying the girl of his dreams and having his all time best friends boyfriend as his best man. How the time has flied since the day he broke into the colony, it seemed like only yesterday J hated his guts and almost killed him. In reality it was over a year ago. How time flies when you are having fun. Being distracted in reviewing older memories, N lost track of time and hadn't realized that V was due to arrive in 5 minutes.
"Yo N! The wedding is starting! Come on, V arrives real soon!" Thad burst in.
N was caught completely off guard, falling off his seat and quickly picking himself up. "Coming! Coming, Coming!" he repeated, gripping his hat as he ran towards the door.
The lights beamed on him, in front, sitting on a large array of chairs was almost the whole Worker Drone population from the bunker. N got really nervous and was visibly shaking, Thad taxied him to the alter. There he stood, thousands of Worker Drones staring at him, he knew little to none of them. At the front row, he could see J, Jayla, Luger, Beretta, Amber and Dawn and two reserved seats for Uzi and Thad. Suddenly the lights began to dim, the organist began to play. The hall doors opened up and standing in the doorway was V, dawning a black dress and veil whilst holding fake black and yellow flowers. She slowly walked up the isle, with Uzi by her side, towards the alter where N stood. The both of them looked each other in the eyes the whole time. V took several steps towards N, standing in front of him. From the side, Khan approached the alter and held a book. "Khan? You're a marriage officiant?"
"I sure am. Its the side-job I did before the Disassembly Drone's drove us underground."
He took his eyes off of Khan and locked them with V's again.
"Do you? Serial Designation N, take Serial Designation V to be your bride?"
"I do."
"And do you? Serial Designation V? Take N to be your groom?"
"I do."
"Are there any objections? Speak now or forever hold your peace."
With no noise to be heard, no hand being raised, Khan made things official. "You may kiss the bride!"
N latched onto V's head, dragging her in for a kiss, the two met, V's arms raised to clutch N's head. They held their kiss for 6 seconds before they finally finished, the crowd of Worker Drones erupting with cheer. "We did it.. We finally did it." N said.
"This is the greatest day of my life, you have brought so much colour into me. I love you." V replied.
"I love you two." N followed up, pulling her into another kiss.
Before anyone could act, N suddenly heard a whistling. His eyes became fixed to the open doorway, V turned to look, as did the Worker Drone crowd. The whistling got louder and louder until a missile flew through the door, barreling towards N and V. "DUCK!" N screamed, jumping onto V and sending the two to the ground, narrowly dodging death. The explosion caught the fuse box, the lights began to flicker. The Silhouette of a Disassembly Drone appeared in the doorway. He walked up the isle slowly, laughing and clapping as he did so.
"Bravo N.. Bravo... You actually accomplished something.."
Everyone was speechless, Uzi was terrified, N didn't know how to feel. He was back.
M lifted his arm and pointed it at the crowd, firing a missile at short range, detonating a group of Worker Drones. With that sudden explosion, the Worker Drones were on their feet, running out the building. In short time, only Thad, Uzi, J, the 5 kids, N and V remained inside. "Its not very nice to keep your brother uninvited to your own wedding N."
"You are NOT my brother! Not anymore!" N snapped.
"Also! How the F##K are you alive!?" V snapped.
Suddenly, J's eyes narrowed, her hand flew towards her mouth and she gasped. Both N and V turned to look at her. "J.. What is going on."
"The failsafe... The failsafe!"
"What failsafe."
J removed her hand from her mouth. "The company gave all squad leaders a failsafe, if we died our memory would be transmitted to a small parasite inside our body, purposed with locating and corrupting a Worker Drone to help reconstruct their body."
"Oh yes.. That reminds me.. I'm here to uphold apart of my favor."
He flung his arm out to the side, launching a rocket to the right of N, V and J. At first it seamed like he missed entirely, until N's eyes followed the rocket and found its destination.
Out of the explosive cloud, the top half of Uzi's body struck the ground. Her eyes twitched as she slowly leaked. "UZI!" Both Thad and N screamed at the same time.
"Whoops... MY BAD!"
Out of pure rage, N drew his blades and deployed his wings, charging directly at M, he simply moved aside and let N tumble to the ground. J grabbed Uzi and Thad, and quickly shot out of the room, although M didn't care, he only cared about killing N. Behind him, he heard V charge at him whilst screaming bloody murder. All he did was smirk. "Alright.. Lets see if I can remember the li... Aha!"
As V came into range, M simply spoke. "Wherefore holla fine young mistress. Thou art eyes, those gents art quite quaint and full of grace."
She came to a sudden halt, her visor began to glitch intensely. "GAAH! AAAAH!" She screamed, clutching onto her head as she struggled.
Soon, N finally picked himself up from the ground, he locked eyes with V standing next to M. V's eyes were lovehearts and M was pointing at him. "Kill him." He said.
V's eyes went from two hearts into one heart with a black X in the center. Blades shot out her hands and she sprinted N. "V?!"
This wasn't V anymore, she was completely under M's control. V unleashed a flurry of strikes, keeping N occupied as M watched in amusement. As much as he wanted to avoid fighting, V wasn't holding anything back. "V! ITS ME! ITS N! YOUR HUSBAND!"
She did not listen, N kept his guard up, not throwing a single strike and not trying to attack. M watched and laughed at how pathetic N was being. Their blades grinded together in a struggle, since when could M use L's technique? As far as he knew, L was the only one with the ability to control drones (Exclusively females for a strange and unspecified reason). Without much else to think of, N tried a last ditch idea. He pulled away his blades and flung himself at V, locking her in a hug.
"V! I LOVE YOU! PLEASE! I KNOW YOU ARE THERE!"
Following the hug, her visor began to glitch again, the black crossed heart faded away, her normal eyes returned. "N..?"
He smiled, seeing how V was back. Suddenly she coughed up oil all over his face, she was shaking. He looked down and to his horror saw a blade plunged through her body. It was swiftly withdrawn from inside her and she collapsed to the ground. "How annoying... I was actually enjoying that show."
N immediately, charged at M with drawn blades, lodging into his shoulders. He swiftly sliced both his arms off and kicked him away. But M stood up, he stood up as if it were nothing. Liquid nanobots swiftly streamed down his arms as they almost instantly repaired. "Wha... What?!" N yelled.
"You never destroyed my teammates bodies, only their cores. I now have 3 nanobot reserves inside me N... You. Cant. Kill. Me."
N gritted his teeth. "Then I'll die trying!" He snapped, drawing his blades once again. He charged at M, slicing his head clean off, it immediately grew back, his grin just as shit eating as usual.
"What did I just say..."
M grabbed ahold of N's neck, throwing him at the ground, he drew both his blades and slashed at N, he narrowly dodged. N deployed both his claws, throwing himself at M in a raging fury, missing every strike as he sloppily attacked. All the time N missed, M was laughing at N's failures. Just then, a wrench hit the back of M's head, he turned around, completely forgetting about N and managed to get a chunk of his scalp torn off. M launched his foot behind himself, sending N flying as he looked for the source of the wrench. That is when he saw Thad. Enraged, the young Worker Drone sprinted at M holding a baseball bat. M threw his blades at Thad, but he slid under his legs, managing to get an off-guard hit on the back of M's head. As M composed himself and turned, N battered himself into M. "GRAB V!" He yelled as he took M with him.
Thad sprinted towards V, hoisting her over his shoulders and running out with her, all the while oil spilled down his back. When M and N hit the back wall, crashing through the large wedding cake, M jumped up in rage, drawing his missile launcher and aiming it at the corner. "THIS ENDS NOW!"
He fired a thermite rocket at the corner of the room, flying towards the gas main piping.
Outside;
"CLEAR!" Khan shouted, shocking V with several volts to get her running again.
V sat up, looking around. N wasn't here. She quickly patted herself in the belly, the large hole was all patched up and she was safe. The same could not be said for Uzi.
"No! No no no no no! UZI!" Thad panicked.
"R..Relax... I'm... I'm going to be fine.... Ow.. Everything hurts.."
Several engineers sat besides Uzi, patching her up and making sure that she stayed alive. With the robot equivalent adrenalin wearing out inside her, she quickly realized something.
"MY BABY! IS IT OK?!"
The chief engineer gave her a head shake. "I'm... Terribly sorry... It would have been killed in the explosion, along with the lower half of your body."
Without a single tear dropping, she hugged Thad tightly. The second they hugged, she broke down into tears, flooding Thad's shoulder with her sorrow.
"That does it.. I'm going in..."
He picked up the nearest pipe and began to walk towards the school, a sudden fireball burst from within the school, the windows shattered and the doors flung off their hinges, a shockwave hit the crowd of Worker Drones as a large explosion within shook the entire colony. The Gas main had blown, breaking the school to the point of near collapse. That did not stop Thad however, he marched into the blazing building, fearless and angry.
"What the hell... What happened?!" Lizzy screamed, running up to the site of the destruction.
"LIZ!" Doll screamed running and crashing into her. "OH GIRL WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE PAST COUPLE DAYS! I MISSED YOU I MISSED YOU I MISSED YOU!"
"What.. What happened Doll..."
"N and V's wedding was crashed by a Disassembly Drone... Uzi was almost killed... N is still in there with the Disassembly Drone."
"Oh god... Oh god I didn't want it to come to this!"
"What?"
"Doll this is my fault! I caused this! All because I was jealous!"
"Lizzy the hell you talking about girl?"
Doll didn't believe Lizzy, but she couldn't live with the guilt, knowing that she caused this much destruction because of a grudge.
