At every stop sign, Giles glanced over at the elaborate flurry of blooms and cringed. He considered tossing them out the window. But Jenny saw the credit card statements; she would ask. How could he explain that he’d binned a very expensive flower arrangement because he feared her reaction?
He’d be better off claiming a head injury. Or a demon attack. Or an affair.
