Work Text:
Edyn Tidestrider thought she knew what pain was, she thought pain was as simple as getting stabbed in the stomach, or stubbing a toe (or a fin??) even.
How wrong she was, however.
When it came to Edyn Tidestrider, pain was seeing her little brother be banished from their own home. Pain was seeing the look on his face when he realized there was nothing Edyn could do to stop the Elders from banishing him.
Pain was sitting here, waiting for Gillion to call. The inevitable hope of hearing his voice again was plaguing, it was sickening. She wrote that letter to Gillion before she left but yet still had so much to say.
Pain was knowing that she probably wasn’t going to hear from Gillion any time soon, considering the circumstances surrounding the both of them at the minute.
Pain was looking up at the sky, hoping Gillion was looking up at the sky too and thinking of her.
Pain is knowing that she had given Gillion the burden of worrying about her, even though she had already told him not to, she knew that him being Gillion, he definitely would.
Pain was missing him, wishing she could hug her little brother, even if it was for one last time, one single moment. She missed him more than anything in the entire world.
Pain was a lot worse than Edyn Tidestrider had originally thought it to be.
