Chapter Text
Not to brag or anything but Ava had been in too many toxic relationships to count. She had been used, abused and cheated on that by now she could spot a red flag from miles away. She never thought she'd find out Melissa was in the same situation as she had been many times.
The night before Ava found out about Melissa's relationship she had been so hyperfixiated on watching the new season of Love Is Blind to leave work. When Ava woke up she realized she had fallen asleep at her desk.
Ava dug through her desk drawers to find her fabulous outfit she kept in there if a hot supply ever showed up to sub at the school.
She headed to her secret washroom to change. On her way there she heard someone cursing in the girls bathroom. Ava quietly opened the door to find Melissa standing at the counter touching her face. She looked closer and realized that Melissa had a black eye. "Fuck! My eye hurts!" Melissa hissed. She looked like hell.
Ava didn't make a noise. She didn't want to scare Melissa off. Instead she watched Melissa with a dumbstruck expression on. her face. She quietly left before Melissa could see her.
Ava headed downstairs to her washroom to change into her clothes. She couldn't get her mind off of Melissa and her black eye.

Through the day Ava's mind kept wandering to Melissa's black eye. The more she thought about it the more signs pointed to Melissa being a victim of abuse. She was shocked that a strong woman like Melissa had been through the same thing Ava had been through before.
When the bell went for lunch Ava headed out to MAC cosmetics. She picked out a cover up that fit Melissa's skin tone. She picked up lunch on her way back and grabbed Melissa a bagel and coffee. When Ava returned back at school Melissa wasn't in her room. Ava let out a sigh of releif as she entered Melissa's room. She placed the bagel, coffee, and cover up on the woman's desk. She left before Melissa returned.
Later, when the day was over and Ava saw Melissa, her eye was alright and she had the coffee cup in her hand. Ava didn't say a single word.
