"Happy fourteenth birthday," says Lan Zhan, feeling all at once exactly as stilted and awkward as the day they first met, and Wei Ying kisses her.
Halfway through the kiss, everything Lan Zhan has learned about herself and Wei Ying throughout the past seven months comes back to her all in a rush, and she presses Wei Ying up against the wall and scrapes her teeth across Wei Ying's lower lip until she whines into her mouth. Her waist is warm under the tight fabric of the leotard – under Lan Zhan's hands – and all at once Lan Zhan wants to know what it would feel like without –
