Izuku Accidentally Kidnaps his Homeroom Teacher

Summary:

Aizawa sat defeated in the rain outside of the UA gates. Even if he found a way inside, how would anyone recognize him as a cat?

He may as well go home with Izuku.

//Or:

Shouta Aizawa gets to look inside Izukus home life. It’s not pretty

Work Text:

Aizawa hid his relief when the bell finally rang. It was a Friday, so all his students quickly ran off to enjoy their weekend.

He made his way to the staff room to finish some paperwork and kiss his husband before leaving for his patrol.

Normally, he would go out later in the day as his quirk was more useful at nighttime, but he and Hizashi agreed to adjust their schedules slightly for a date night tonight.

The streets were much quieter during the day, but all crime had been going down a bit lately.

The Dragon, as the news had dubbed him, was the newest villain. He had a fire based quirk and his hobbies included arson against anyone available. He’d burned down anything from government buildings, to known villain bases.

It was funny, how one bad guy would scare the others away.

Shouta hadn’t been called in to help with the man at all, but the heros were certainly having a hard time with him, and he imagined he would be asked to step in soon.

Aizawa impatiently checked the time as the hours crawled by. Daytime patrols were always so uneventful.

The time was passing quickly however, and he had a little under an hour until he was dismissed.

He instantly became alert when he heard a scream. Aizawa leaped into action, running across the roofs like it was second nature, which it was.

He spent only a few moments assessing the situation when he came to the sorce of the cry for help. A man had a younger girl, maybe seven or so, pinned against an alley wall, one hand covering her mouth, the other reaching for-

Well it didn’t matter what he was reaching for. Aizawa swooped in, swiftly knocking out the man before he could even react, and turned to face the girl.

She curled away from him, clearly untrusting.

“Hey there. My names Eraserhead, I’m a hero” he crouched down to her level and attempted a smile.

“Yo-you don’t l-look like a hero” she deflected.

She had a point of course, his jumpsuit didn’t exactly scream savior the same way All Mights did.

“It’s a disguise” he said, only half lying.

“O-oh” she shuffled and uncurled a bit.

“what’s your name?” He asks.

“Kasumi” she replied.

“Do you know where your guardians are Kasumi?” Before the girl could open her mouth to respond a women came running down the alleyway.

“Kasumi!” The girl ran to who Shouta assumed was her mother. The woman picked her up, backing away while she assessed the situation.

After a moment of consideration, she concluded Aizawa was a hero and relaxed, “Thank you” she said.

Aizawa nodded silently in welcome.

“Say thank you to the hero Kasumi” the mother gently encouraged her daughter.

Kasumi barely hesitated before climbing out of her mothers arms and running to give Shouta a hug. He returned it softly, hiding his smile in his scarf.

A wet patch was growing on his shoulder were Kasumis tears soaked through, but he couldn’t bring himself to be upset.

He scaled the building back up to the roof once Kasumi was safe, and began to make his way back to UA.

Because of the dorm systems implemented at UA, many of the teachers were encouraged to stay on campus as well to keep an eye on the kids. Along with free housing, they got a pleasant salary raise and both Shouta and Hizashi agreed to move in.

So instead of going to their apartment, now reserved for breaks and some weekends, he went to UA to shower before his date.

He was outside the gates when he felt something… change.

His body felt like it was asleep, a tingly feeling covering his skin. The floor grew closer and Shouta realized with a start he was shrinking.

As suddenly as it started, it was over. Aizawa looked down to a set of paws and tried to calm himself down.

It only took him a few moments to realize that he was a cat. Was this the effect of a quirk? Who’s? Would it wear off soon?

A million thoughts ran through Shoutas mind as he pawed at the UA gate. The bars were just close enough together he couldn’t squeeze through.

If he could find Hizashi, he might recognize him. But his husband would be waiting for him in the building.

He sat down dejectedly. He would just have to wait until someone opened the gate and he could slip through.

A few minutes into his wait it began to sprinkle and he let out and annoyed meow as the water began to soak his fur. It was a strange feeling, and Aizawa didn’t enjoy it.

There wasn’t anywhere he could get cover under around though, so he would just have to wait.

It didn’t take as long as he thought it would for somebody to leave UA. He was surprised to see Midoriya opening the gate. The kid usually left for the weekends, he always assumed he left right after classes though, never waiting this late to leave.

He filed the information in the back of his head as he attempted to slip through.

Before he was through the gap though, two hands gently lifted him up.

“Woah there, I don’t think you can go in” Izuku closed the gate and quickly let Aizawa down before crouching to his level.

“What’s your name little guy? Do you have an owner?” The kids eyes searched around his neck but found nothing.

Aizawa made a noise of annoyance.

“I can’t just leave you here, it’s freezing” Izuku seemed to consider for a moment before coming to a decision.

“You have to be very quiet if I let you come home with me” he narrowed his eyes at Aizawa and Shouta meowed.

He would have to spend the weekend with Izuku and fix things on Monday. Hizashi would worry himself sick but there wasn’t much he could do at this point.

Izuku carried him all the way to his apartment, around a twenty minute walk, but with the rain it felt much longer.

Izuku didn’t have a coat on or an umbrella and Shouta would be lying if that didn’t make him upset. Teenagers always seemed to avoid coats in his experience and he couldn’t figure out why.

When they enter the lobby of the apartment complex, Izuku set him in his backpack gently, with one more reminder to be quiet (Izuku did know most cats don’t understand him right?) and put his bag back on.

Normally, Aizawa would discourage his students from going against the wishes of their parents, but for something like this he could make an exception. Izuku’s only trying to do good in this situation.

He heard the click of a lock and assumed they’d arrived at Izukus apartment.

Aizawa hadn’t actually been to the boys home. During the inspection an emergency arose while he and Yagi were heading to Izukus. Yagis timer was up for the day, so Aizawa went to help and Yagi did the inspection.

He reported everything to be great, and Aizawa didn’t think much on it.

He wishes he could have gone now, if only he would have a better idea of the place he’s walking into.

He can hear the TV on, some sports program he assumes. A grunt came from the person he assumed was on the couch in front of the TV as Izuku came in.

“Oh, the little heros home” the voice was mocking and unkind and it made Aizawas skin crawl.

It was a man’s voice, but Izuku lived with his mother. And the mocking tone certainly didn’t add up.

Izuku didn’t move from his position by the doorway.

“Well? Nothing to say?” The voice called.

Aizawa pressed his head into the kids back after realizing Izuku was shaking. Something bad was going on here. Some form of abuse. Why hadn’t Aizawa noticed?

“Come here” a sudden change in the tone of voice made Izuku jump and hesitantly, yet quickly, follow the command.

The next few actions are hard to decipher. All he knows is the whimper of pain Izuku let’s out and the cruel laugh of the man and then Izuku is shoved back.

The boy retreats quickly to his room and Shouta hears the door click behind him. He sets down the bag and Aizawa pushes his way out in an instant.

He scans his kid up and down, trying to determine where he was injured. He quickly realizes the biggest issue is his oncoming panic attack.

Izuku was breathing shallowly, his arms brought around his chest and squeezing as he backed himself into a corner.

Shouta let him be for a moment. He seemed familiar with the experience (and that made Aizawas anger boil) and had a routine down. After his breathing evened a little more though, Shouta made his way over.

He curled into Izukus lap, letting the boy pet him in an attempt to provide as much comfort as possible. He tried his best to purr at a consistent rate and regulate Izukus breathing.

Eventually he calms down and his breathing evens out. Aizawa let’s out a sigh of relief now that he wasn’t in danger of passing out.

Izuku stands up and he’s reminded of the burns on his arms. He hopes the kid is going to treat them, wrap them with gauze - heck - he’d be happy if the boy put on a long sleeve shirt to prevent infection but no.

No instead he pulls his homework out of his fucking backpack.

Shouta let’s out a quiet yowl in protest. Of course his golden problem child would think of his homework in a time like this.

(In the back of his mind he registers that Izuku is not acting like this was something strange. He acted as if it were simply routine. Come home as late as he can, get burned, have a panic attack, do homework. Just another Friday)

Izuku ignores him and sits at his desk as he pulls out a worksheet. Shouta scans the room and eventually finds a first aid kit on a higher shelf.

There’s nothing wrong with having a first aid it. Injuries happend to his students even while there outside of school. The majority of them have work out routines and everyone gets a cut or a bruise from mishandling equipment every now and then.

It was concerning how large this one was. Then again maybe he just wanted to replace it less often.

Shouta sat in front of the shelf and tried to decided if it was too high to jump up. After a moment he decided that would be a horrible idea.

Instead, he jumps onto Izukus desk and sits on his homework.

Midoriya tilts his head, “What?” He asks.

Shouta meows and sniffs his arm, hoping to get the message across.

“Are you bored?” He begins to stroke Shoutas head. Which did feel really good, but that’s completely besides the point because no Aizawa was not bored he wanted to help his fucking kid.

“I get it, I’m sort of bored too.” Izuku sighed and gently pulled Aizawa into his lap.

Shouta stood stiff for a moment in the boys lap before leaping out. The kid needed to treat those wounds.

He took his chance and leaped up the shelf to reach the first aid kit. He missed of course, but it did keep Izukus attention on him, which is better then nothing.

Aizawa was suddenly startled as a door opened and slammed shut. He moved toward Izuku on instinct before remembering he was very much useless in this form.

Izuku looked startled as well, but also relieved.

“I think that means he’s gone, wanna go get some food?” Izuku stood up and was making his way toward the door.

Shouta let his annoyance at Midoriya show as he followed him out. The burns on his arms had to be bothering him, how was he just ignoring it?

He finally gets a good look at the apartment as he follows the kid into the kitchen. It’s nothing completely out of the ordinary. Really if it weren’t for the beer bottles lying around and the smoke in the air he wouldn’t think anything was wrong.

The kitchen looks normal too, Aizawa notes as he steps in.

But then Izuku opens the fridge and he notices the lack of food. Certainly not enough for a teenager over a weekend. Not to mention a teenager in need of constant calorie consumption due to his quirk.

Midoriya pulls out a cheese stick and a piece of lunch meat. He places the meat on the place and slides it to Aizawa, who had jumped onto the counter.

He sniffs at it before taking a bite. He was starting to get hungry.

“You sort of look like my teacher, Aizawa-Sensei” Izuku commented, “I’m gonna call you Eraser, ok?”

Shouta didn’t respond, but he can’t say he was unhappy with the name. He was unhappy with the amount of food Izuku was eating, but he supposed he would get the kid out of here soon enough and he could make sure the kid got all the food he wanted.

They head back to Midoriyas room and Shouta finally manages to get Izuku to wrap his wound when he latches onto the boys leg.

It wasn’t the cleanest patch up, but at least the risk of infection was down and some of the pain should decrease.

Shouta stationed himself on the desk as Izuku pulled out his laptop to begin his homework. He feels restless as Izuku pulls out various folders and worksheets. He wished he could do more then wait.

Midoriya logged into his laptop and hesitated before going to YouTube and clicking on the latest news.

The headline is something about the Dragon committing another crime. Aizawa clenched his jaw slightly because he should be there helping, but then takes it back because if he wasn’t here how would he know Izuku needs him.

Izuku visibly deflated as he read the news and Shouta feels bad. The kid seems to think stopping every bully and villain is up to him for some reason. He takes everything to heart. It’s admirable, but will only make things more difficult for him down the line.

He seemed very upset with the news actually. Tears were beginning to stream down his face and Aizawa took the initiative to close the computer screen.

Izuku sinks into himself and let’s out an audible sob. Shouta pries his way into the boys lap and pressed himself against Izukus chest to comfort him. It seems to work a bit as his breathing evens out.

With one last burst of energy, Izuku let’s put a frustrated noise and brings a fist to his head.

Immediately, Shouta is trying to pry the fist away. Thankfully Izuku doesn’t try again and seemed worn out from so much.

After a while longer Izuku moves back to his homework. Aizawa wonders why he had such a strong reaction to that. He always wore his heart on his sleeve, but that just seemed… odd.

He was missing something.

————————————

A couple hours later the front door slammed open, making Izuku and Aizawa both jump. Shouta had stayed in Izukus lap for the most part. Trying to keep himself occupied while Izuku did his work.

As loud footsteps approached the door Midoriya tried to usher him away. Aizawa went to the closet, making sure he still had a good view of the room but was also hidden.

As much as he wanted to stand in front of Izuku and protect him, his presence as a cat would only do him harm at the moment. He would have to bide his time.

Most transformation quirks like this worked on daily schedules. He would likely turn back after either 12 or 24 hours pass, but it could be much longer. He would cross that bridge when he gets to it.

He trained his eyes on the door as it opened and Aizawa finally saw Izuku Midoriyas father.

He was tall, much taller then Midoriya was - but then his mother had been shorter. He was big too, muscles were bulging grossly from his body.

His hair was black, unlike Midoryas, but his eyes were as vibrantly green as his sons. His jaw was set in a sick smile and in his hand-

In his hand was the dragon mask.

Aizawa sat stupidly as he watched the Dragon in his kids doorway. His brain was trying to process everything, all of the clues leading to this moment.

Izuku Midoriyas father was the Dragon.

Izuku Mjdoriya was living with the Dragon.

His kid was being abused by the Dragon

And he couldn’t reveal himself. There was absolutely nothing he could do because he was trapped in this goddawful cat body. If he tried to protect his student he would only make it worse for both of them.

“Gonna arrest me little hero?” The Dragon snared.

Midoriya did not respond. He looked down, holding back tears as he clenched his fists.

“I’ll even give you a confession, I’m the dragon, I just burned down one of the largest buildings in the city, and if you arrest me, I’ll go willingly” the adult seemed to take joy in teasing the child.

Izuku still sat.

The dragon laughed, “some hero you are, can’t even arrest me when I’m right in front you!” He laughed again and this time fire flew out of his mouth.

“Nothing to say boy?” He entered the room, causing Midoriya to tense up.

Aizawa hid his hiss when The Dragon roughly grabbed Izukus burned arm.

“Ah!” He attempted to escape the man’s grip but without his quirk he wasn’t near strong enough.

“Go on, say something” The Dragon prodded, righting his grip on Midoriyas arm as he moved closer.

“S-Stop it” Izuku replied weakly.

The Dragon hit Aizawas student in the face, holding back no force as he backhanded him. Aizawa dug his nails into the floor to stop himself from attacking.

“Pathetic” The Dragon finally let go.

He started to walk away, presumably to his own room, leaving Izuku shaking at his desk.

The door was still open so Aizawa quickly darted out of his hiding spot and shut it before running over to the kid, who was beginning to hyperventilate.

He was crying as Shouta leaped onto his lap and started to purr, trying his best to regulate his breathing. He wished there was a way to guide him through a breathing exercise, but without being able to talk this was the best Shouta could do. Izuku wrapped his arms around Aizawa and carried him to his bed.

Aizawa stayed with him, letting the boy cry into his skin as Aizawa fought back tears of his own. He had failed, failed to notice how horrible Izukus living situation was. He had failed to be someone his student could trust, someone he felt he could come too.

Izuku tended to go home every weekend, and almost always over breaks. Why hadn’t he requested to stay on campus? Aizawa had told his kids he would generally let them as he thought sending them home every weekend was overkill for some students. Todoroki, for example, asked and Aizawa granted him permission immediately. Heaven only knows what that boy went through with his father. Was Izuku being forced to come back? But then the Dragon clearly wasn’t happy with his sons presence.

He decided he would set it all aside, as soon as he had thumbs again he would contact some more hero’s, get the place surrounded, and get the kid out.

“He’s right you know” Izuku whispered, “I’m selfish. I’m-I’m basically killing all the people he is” he sobbed and Aizawa nipped at his hand, trying to let him know that line of thought was wrong.

“I- I just don’t know what to do. Who would I even tell? And then what would happen, they’d kick me out of UA and then I’d be in some shit foster home” the kid curled around the cat.

“I’m so lost Eraser, and now I’m talking to a dam cat” he let out a wet chuckle.

Aizawa hesitated for only a moment before rising up and licking Izuku gently on the nose. Izuku scratched him behind his ears and Aizawa decided something right then and there.

He would not be failing this kid again.

Aizawa had an emergency foster license. And clearly the kid needed someone he could trust to stay with. As far as he could tell the boys mother was out of the picture, and this would ensure Izuku stays within the UA school district and make sure he didn’t end up in some ‘shit foster home’.

(And maybe he knew that UA would make sure he’s able to stay at the school despite his living arrangements.)

(And maybe he knew that he and Nezu would preform extensive backround checks on anyone who would take care of a student)

(And maybe Aizawa knew plenty of foster parents who would be ecstatic to take care of the boy)

(And maybe Aizawa was being selfish, but he and Hizashi had always wanted a kid and he’d be dammed if he’d let Izuku get hurt again)

Midoriya fell asleep after a while and Aizawa stayed awake, unable to bring himself to relax. He sat on Izukus chest, the boys hands curled in his fur, and kept his eyes fixed on the door.

Morning came without incident and Izuku woke up with the sun.

“Hey Eraser” Midoriya smiled.

Aizawa meowed back.

Izuku got up and Aizawa stood in the corner while he changed. The child was definitely an early riser, and he wasn’t surprised to find out he woke early on weekends too.

“I’m going on a run, do you want to come with me?” Izuku politely asked the cat who meowed at him.

“Is that a yes or a no?” Izuku opened his bedroom door and Aizawa walked out, waiting patiently a few feet away.

Midoriya usually ran for two hours at the dorms, but he might’ve chosen a weekend day as a rest day or to cut down a bit. (He better have, because Aizawa would enforce a rest if he didn’t.)

Then again, he probably wanted to stay out of the house as long as he could to be away from the Dragon.

Izuku walked through the apartment, seemingly unconcerned, and Aizawa followed. He mapped every detail from the rooms carefully, any information could be useful later on when they start planning the rescue. Because Aizawa would be getting his kid out and he wouldn’t risk a run in with the Dragon.

They took the elevator this time. Izukus hand shook as he pressed the button.

For a moment, Aizawa thought Midoriya was going to start crying, but he wiped his face and stood up straight.

It was still dark outside and Aizawa found himself yawning. He never understood early risers.

Izuku began to run, slower then he would have but Aizawa suspected he was slowing down for him. It was actually nice out, the air seemed almost fresher in the morning though it was chillier.

There was still the issue of that cat. Aizawa assumed it was Kasumis quirk, but there was no telling for how long he would stay a cat, or if he would turn back at all. He couldn’t do much in his current form, so if something didn’t happen soon he’d have to leave and find another way back.

He started to slow down, his stamina as a cat was much less then it was as a human. Izuku noticed at some point and they ended up walking for a while.

The sun was starting to come up and Izuku and him ended up on a beach. They sat on the sand together and watched and for the first time in a while Aizawa felt at ease.

They were walking back when Aizawa felt it. He wasn’t sure exactly how, but he could tell he was about to turn back.

Without a second to loose he darted away from Izuku. Luckily, he was following behind a bit so it might take him a few minutes to notice.

He ran to an alley, quickly checking for any people, and ducked behind a dumpster. Before he knew it he was growing.

Luckily his clothing and accessories all transformed with him, including his phone. Immediately, he whipped it out and called Hizashi.

“Shouta!” he picked up on the first ring, “Are you ok? Where are you?”

“Sorry Hizashi, I’m alright. I don’t have much time to explain but I need you to meet me at UA. I can explain more there but I need to help a student of mine first” Aizawa felt bad about missing dinner - it would have been the first time they’d be going out to eat in months - but he couldn’t focus on that now.

“Ok, I’m heading there now, I love you Shouta”

Aizawa smiled as he made his way up a roof, “love you too Hizashi”

They hung up and Shouta made his way to UA as quickly as possible. It would take hours to make a plan, and longer to execute it. This was a delicate situation that would probably stretch days long if some people had their way. He would make sure Izuku got out of their as soon as possible though.

——————————————————————-——

It took a while to explain everything over and over, and longer to gather the people needed, but eventually everyone was together.

It wasn’t until about midday that they started planning, and Aizawa was getting anxious. What if something had happened? What if the Dragon decided he wanted to get rid of Izuku, or what if-

“Coffee?” Hizashi offered.

Hizashi always knew what to do. He accepted it gratefully, it was made the way he liked it.

“He’ll be fine for a couple of hours, it’s better to come prepared then come fast Shota, you know that” Hizashi laid his hand on his husbands shoulder.

“I know, I just” he made a frustrated gesture, “I just don’t know how I missed this, he’s been living like this for who knows how long and he didn’t trust me enough to come to”

“Shota, you can’t blame yourself for that. You know now and that’s what matters, your getting him out now and that’s what matters”

He suddenly remembered his plan, “Hizashi, about after he’s out… do you think-“

“I think our guest bedroom had been empty for far too long” Hizashi smiled and squeezed his shoulder.

“Alright everyone!” Midnight had quickly taken charge of what was now known as the ‘Operation Rescue From The Dragon’ or ORFD.

“We’re going to have four groups, Aizawa will go in first to retrieve Izuku, group one will surround the building in case of an escape, group two will move in as soon as Izuku is removed from the bulding and group three will be backup. Group four, be ready to assist in anything that might go wrong.”

Midnight began delegating other tasks and such and answering questions as people began to ready themselves. The hero’s would arrive in pairs as to not give themselves away. It would be a smaller operation all things considered, with only about 14 hero’s including Hizashi and Aizawa.

Luckily Midoriyas apartment was near a woods, so they would be able to set up a base of operation and emergency medical station a few yards in. If all went well, the Dragon wouldn’t know what hit him.

A few hours after that, everything was set into motion.

Aizawa arrived in the second pair with Hizashi around 8pm. Midnight had arrived just before them.

Nothing started until around 8:30 when all of the hero’s were ready. Really it was impressive how fast things had gone.

As soon as Shota got the go ahead he began scaling the building to Izukus bedroom window. His earbuds buzzed with affermatives and questions as he reached the window.

He had his goggles on, which were recently equipped with heat sensors that indicated Izuku was alone in his room.

Aizawa hauled himself up until he was in view of the window. Izuku was faced away from it but with a few taps he turned around with a look of confusion.

Lots of emotions flooded through the boys face as he spotted his teacher in his window. He stood frozen for a moment before opening it in and awkwardly inviting the man in, gazing nervously to his door.

“Aizawa Sensei?” He whispered.

“Midoriya, we’re getting you out of here alright?” He placed a comforting hand on the boys shoulder.

“Ou-out of here?” He seemed surprised.

“Yes, we know the man here is the Dragon, we need to leave quickly” he started to guide him to the window.

“Wait- what’s going… what’s going to happen to me? Am I in trouble?” Because of course he thought he was in trouble for being abused.

“No, your not in trouble, you’ll-“ he paused then.

Maybe Izuku didn’t even want to go home with him. He hadn’t even thought of the fact that Aizawa was his teacher. It could be considered inappropriate. Besides, was Aizawa even equipped to take care of a teenager? A teenager recovering from abuse while trying to become a hero? Someone could certainly do a better job then him and who was he to deprive Izuku of-

Midoriya must have taken Aizawas reluctance to answer wrong. His eyes widened in fear.

“Aizawa… I- I can’t not go to UA-“

His earbuds crackled, “Shouta get out of there!”

Aizawa pushed the boy closer to the window, he could clear things up when they were both safe.

Luckily Midoriya sensed his urgency and stopped talking, instead looking to Aizawa for instruction.

Aizawa opened his mouth to talk but in that instant the door slammed open. Shouta pulled the kid behind him as the Dragon entered the room.

Surprise covered his face quickly followed by anger. He stepped further into the room, his mouth curling in disgust.

“As soon as you can, get out” he whispered to Midoriya, who stood frozen behind him.

“What the hell is this?” Izukus hand wrapped around Aizawas wrist as the man began to talk.

As much as he wanted to tear the dragon apart, his only goal was to get Izuku out safely. If he talked into his mic, the man could get scared and attack rashly, so he’d have to hope the rest of the team knew to come in.

Without another word the Dragon moved to attack.

Aizawa erased his quirk as he attempted to blow fire at them. He was smart though, and only stumbled a moment before turning to a direct attack.

The man was much larger physically, and though Aizawa was skilled he wouldn’t be able to hold on for long. His best bet would be to keep his quirk erased as long as possible and keep him distracted long enough for Izuku to get out.

The Dragon lunged at him and he dived away, pushing Izuku in the other direction. Luckily he seemed more interested in Aizawa then Midoriya and he turned back to Shouta.

The parried for a moment, Aizawa staying in the defense, trying to buy time for Midoriya, but his eyes were getting dry and he couldn’t hold him for much longer.

He spared a moment to glance at the boy. Midoriya stood frozen where he was, staring at the fight with wide eyes.

“Run!” He yelled, his attention slipping for a moment.

In that moment the Dragon got a hold of him. His hands wrapped around Shotas neck and pushed him against the wall. Aizawa defiantly kept his eyes wide open.

He made a choking sound as his lungs began to run out of air but still kept the Dragons quirk erased. He wanted to yell out at the boy to run again, but his focus was slipping, in a moment he would be unconscious, and maybe soon dead.

His throat burned and tears threatened to fall from his dry eyes. The hand on his neck squeezed tighter as his struggles died down.

And then the hand was off as a fist reached for the Dragons face.

Aizawa fell to the floor and for a moment did nothing but breathe, his body so focused on his lungs. But then he stood again when he saw the Dragon with Izukus neck in his hands, the boy in the same position he was in only moment ago.

Izukus hands were going limp around the Dragons wrist as his eyes began to droop. His mouth was open in a desperate attempt to find air. Without hesitation Aizawa placed a kick square in the Dragons back. The man lost his balance for a moment and fell to the side.

Aizawa rushed to Midoriyas side as the kid fell to the floor, gasping for breath. His ear piece was buzzing with questions before Hizashis voice finally cut through.

“Cover your ears!” He yelled.

Aizawa quickly placed his hands over Izukus ears as sound flooded the room. Luckily, Aizawas earpiece was equipped with sound resistance so while the noice was loud, it wasn’t deafening.

Hizashi entered the room along with half a dozen other hero’s and Aizawa let himself relax. It was over.

He turned to Midoriya, finally releasing his ears from his grasp. The boy looked overwhelmed but none of his injuries seemed immediately life threatening.

The two of them had matching bruises on their necks, which could very well become an issue, but with all the healing quirks nowadays he wasn’t concerned about any lasting damage.

Izuku was staring at all the commotion. The hero’s were quick to take down the Dragon and he began yelling a slew of insults as he attempted to escape.

Specifically, he was shouting a handful of slurs and other creative insults at Izuku. Aizawa quickly placed himself in front of Izuku, who was trying to hold back tears.

“Are you ok?” Izuku asked him before letting out a cough.

Izuku was asking him.

Aizawa laughed then cringed as his neck began to burn.

“Sor-“ he was cut off as he began to have a coughing fit.

“Shouta!” Hizashi had found them both and had Recovery Girl following behind him.

“Are you two ok? We should have come in earlier!” Hizashi looked between the two of them.

“We’ll be ok” Shotas voice scratched, “Chiyo? Could you heal Midoriya?”

“Certainly, come here boy” Recovery Girl began to fuss over Izuku, giving Aizawa and Yamada time to talk.

Hizashi gently touched Shotas neck, “Chiyo can heal you after”

Aizawa smiled, “I’ll get healing later, I don’t want to fall asleep any time soon”

Yamada frowned but didn’t say anything else, “have you told him?”

Shouta looked down, “Not yet. I was just thinking- I mean- what if he doesn’t want us you know? I’m sure there are better people out there and I’m his teacher-“

“Shouta, I think the fact that your his teacher makes you the best out there for him. Think about it. What he needs is someone familiar, someone he can already trusts, someone he knows he doesn’t have to be scared of”

Aizawa nodded, starting to see Hizashis reasoning. They shared a moment together as recovery girl fussed over Izuku, and then Shouta moved his attention to the kid again.

He seemed overwhelmed, which was understandable. But the boy was also very drawn in on himself. His gaze was downcast as if he were ashamed.

“Izuku?” Shouta layer a hand on his back to comfort him. He can only imagine how difficult this would be.

“I’m sorry” Izuku sobbed.

“Don’t be sorry Izuku, you didn’t do anything wrong” Aizawa moved closer, pulling the boy into a hug.

“But, but I could have-“ his body wracked with tears as Shouta gently shushed him, rubbing comforting circles on his back.

“Shh, you did nothing wrong Izuku. I’m sorry I didn’t help you earlier, I’m sorry you couldn’t come to me. Your safe now though, ok?”

Izuku just nodded into his chest, his tears slowing only slightly.

“Aizawa” Shouta turned slightly, still keeping Izuku in his arms, at the call of his name.

“Let me heal you, just the throat, we wouldn’t want to risk any permanent damage” Chiyo reasoned and Shouta relented, offering his forehead for the Healing Heroine to kiss.

“Alright, are either of you feeling dizzy? Any headaches or ringing ears?” Izuku peeled his head out of Aizawa to shake his head, and Shouta shook his as well.

“Alright then, I think you both should be free to go, try to get some rest and take it easy. If anything comes up, let me know” Chiyo made her way around the room then, healing a handful of other mild injuries.

“Uhm…” Izuku pulled away from Shouta slightly as he began to fidget with his fingers.

“Where- what’s- where am I going to go?” He asked it hesitantly, as if afraid of the answer.

“You’ll come home with Hizashi and I” Shouta explained.

Izukus mouth formed an o as he thought longer.

“Uhm, for how long?” He eventually lasts.

“Well… forever I suppose” Izukus head snapped up at this.

“Really?” He whispered, as if saying got too loud would make it not real.

“Course little listener, we’re happy to have you” Hizashi ruffled his hair.

This seemed to break another dam and Izuku found himself buried back in Shoutas arms. Aizawa rocked him back and forth, quietly comforting him.

“It’ll be ok, Izuku” he shared a look with his husband as he whispered to Izuku.

“I promise”
