Chapter Text
"Sirius..." Remus sighed, heartbroken and slightly frustrated. "We've been over this. I'm sorry, but... I have too much on my mind already. I'm a sodding werewolf, for Merlin's sake! And I don't want you to have to deal with my problems, the mess of a person I am. I can't, I'm sorry." He was staring at the floor intently, he knew he couldn't afford to look into Sirius' eyes; he'd break down to pieces.
Sirius left out a soft, sad chuckle. "Remus. Silly, silly Remus. Moony. You just don't understand. You keep on repeating the same excuse, but you're not paying attention to what I am saying. So just... Try to listen to me now, will you?"
He took a deep breath. "Remus, love, I don't care that you're a werewolf. And just in case you need me to spell it out: I Do Not Care about the dangers it involves --that you could hurt me or turn me. That's a risk I'm willing to take. Because -and this is what I think you don't get-, for me, it's worth it. You are worth it. You are so kind and sweet and caring. So fucking smart and so fucking gorgeous, it's almost unbearable to look at you, Moony. And I am so lucky, so, so lucky to have found you. You fucking changed my life. Everything was a mess, and maybe still is, but I feel so much better because of you. You make everything better, but you don't notice it, you don't want to believe it. And you think that you would fuck up my life, instead of understanding how much you improve it."
Remus let out a tiny gasp. He gazed at Sirius and opened his mouth, attempting to speak.
"No, Moons, just, let me finish, ok? Please." Sirius grabbed Remus's hand into his, squeezing it gently. "I love you, Moony. So much, so fucking much. And I need you. And I want us to be together. So, unless you don't love me back, please, be my boyfriend. And if you honestly don't love me, if that's the real issue, then I will leave you be, and I will learn to live with that. I'll try. But if you do love me, and I'm quite confident you do, please, do not say that you won't be with me just because you're a werewolf. That would hurt much more than any injury. We're both broken people, love, I know we are. But maybe we can be whole together. So, give ourselves a chance to be happy, will you? I think we've earned it."
Tears were running down Remus' face. Sirius hugged him tightly, making him feel safe and warm and protected. "Ok, Sirius Back, " Remus whispered, "I will be your boyfriend."
