Sora thinks this mission is stupid. All he’s supposed to do is to watch for other strong duelists. Yes, the mission is important for the war and Sora’s honored that the Professor trusted him with this, but it’s so, so boring!
Whatever, Sora’s been hearing of an “elite” duel school, so hopefully going there will help.
Oh help it did. Apparently there’s a summoning method the Professor didn’t tell him about called Pendulum Summoning. And the “first ever user” is currently using it right out in the open for anyone to see. Perfect.
But how can Sora catch this guy's attention? It seems he’s already gaining so much. Hell, Sora doesn’t even know his name-
“YUUYA!”
Holy shit, what is happening in this duel? Four kids are falling off a digital building. Sora could use this as a way to get Yuuya’s attention by saving his (probably) friends, but that would make him look like some weirdo that’s watching a duel that’s probably supposed to be private.
Oh, his special magicians saved them. They seem to get over that extremely easily. These standard people are freaks. Yet again, Sora is literally the one spying on them, so he can’t really say that right now.
“Yuuya’s gonna Pendulum summon!”
“Pendulum! Pendulum!”
Okay, are they cheerleaders of friends? Actually…he can work with this. All of Yuya’s group are cheering and since there’s like four people there, they won’t notice Sora cheering, right? He’ll just say he’s a fan of Yuuya if they ask anything about him.
“Pendulum! Pendulum!”
Maybe he can just pretend to be a fanboy. He’ll say he’s a fan of Yuuya, get close to him like that, and then will get close to Yuuya’s other friends that are also probably powerful, and then complete the mission! Score!
Alright, Yuuya won the duel so now he’ll just walk up and say he’s a big fan and-oh the guy he dueled is being annoying. He looks annoying. Therefore, to get rid of him quickly, Sora just takes a lollipop out of his pocket and throws it at the guy. Although being a waste of a lollipop, it was actually a really good hit! Sora’s impressed with himself!
And now he walks up and starts his masquerade.
