    After a mission had went wrong, Ghost continues to struggle with his feelings regarding the incident. He can’t get Soap’s face out of his head and the look he had in his eyes when he shielded Ghost away from the enemy. It was his fault, he was the reason someone got hurt and he couldn’t help but do what Simon Riley did best to cope - run.

    He just wanted to forget Soap and everything he felt towards him before he became even weaker, before he reached a point he couldn’t come back from.

    He wasn’t worthy of anyone’s sacrifice especially not from someone like Soap who deserved so much more than the corrupted and flawed man Ghost was.

    Soap, however, was incapable of just letting Ghost walk away from him - from them.
