Work Text:
“Kurt, are you okay?”
“No. I'm not okay, okay? I love you. I still love you, and I know everything was completely messed up before, but everything's fine now. So will you... will you, will you go to the wedding with me? I mean, unless there's... there's somebody else.”
“There's no one else.”

After a super quick and messy but very intimate round of make-up sex, on the kitchen floor; not even making it to Blaine’s bedroom, with Blaine in the midst of packing up the apartment, sheets were not even on the bed, had they made it that far. They did manage to find a box with a blanket and pillows as they laid, cuddling on the floor. Blaine was on his back and Kurt was cuddled up to his side, absently drawing pictures with his finger on his chest.
“Marry me, Blaine,” Kurt murmured into Blaine’s shoulder.
“Excuse me?” Blaine responded with shock evident in his voice.
Kurt sat up bringing Blaine with him, “Marry me. I made the biggest mistake telling you months ago that I didn’t want to marry you. I was frustrated and scared and I took it out on you. I regretted it moments later, but I was too proud to admit I was wrong. And you know I came back here, to get you back. I want to marry you, and I want to do it now, tomorrow, in 6 months, or even 5 years from now. I know it is you and has always been you.”
“Are you serious? You’d marry me now?”
“In a heartbeat.”
A few moments passed in silence, the air thick with uncertainty. Blaine brought his wrist up and looked at the watch situated there, “we have about 5 hours until we need to be at the wedding. What if we shower, put on our suits, and find a courthouse in Indiana, and just get married?”
“I love your spontaneity; but what about our friends and family? My dad? It will kill him to know I got married without him.”
“We can tell people and have a ceremony and party later. I just want to be married to you. We spent too much time apart, and I want this to be about us.”
“Oh god, I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but let's get married!”
“You're the one that asked this time,” Blaine said as he placed his hands on either side of Kurt's face.
“Yeah I did. What are you gonna do about it,” Kurt whispered as he wrapped his arms around Blaine’s shoulders.
“This,” Blaine responded by kissing him, much like he had an hour earlier when Kurt ran back into his arms.
Kurt broke them apart a few moments later, “if we’re gonna do this, we need to not get anymore distracted. We can save some time and water, if we shower together, just no hanky panky.”
“You always have the best ideas.”

They quickly showered, with little distraction. Kurt was adjusting Blaine’s bowtie when Blaine let out a gasp and walked across the room to a box of his things.
“If we’re gonna get married, we need rings. Luckily I kept these, just in case,” he answered as he pulled a blue velvet box from behind his back, “I had hoped we would come back together” he said as he opened the box and two silver rings gleamed in the sunlight.
Kurt picked one ring out and got down on one knee, “Blaine Devon Anderson, will you marry me, in a little more than an hour, depending on traffic?” he asked with a smirk.
Blaine let out a chuckle, “Yes, yes I will.”
They shared a quick kiss before Kurt placed the ring on Blaine’s finger and Blaine placed the other on Kurt’s.
“Let’s go, Mr. Hummel-Anderson.”
“Right after you, Mr. Anderson-Hummel.”
They laughed, “We’ll figure that out on the drive.”

“I can’t believe there were 6 other couples in front of us today. We are so late, and that would have definitely made a scene. Santana is definitely gonna kill us now.” Kurt said as Blaine pulled into an empty space in a corn field.
“She won’t kill us. She’s too distracted by her wedding to realize we are fifteen minutes late. And really the wedding hasn’t even started yet. She’ll get over it. I’m just happy to be married to you. I love you so much,” Blaine said as he grabbed Kurt’s face and gave him a sweet kiss across the car console.
“So what if people notice the rings? What do we tell them?”
“We will stick close together, I’ll keep mine in my pocket,” he said as he took the ring off, “and when people ask about your ring, we will just tell them we're back together and picking up where we left off. And once the wedding is over, and everyone is happy and probably intoxicated, we can tell everyone.”
“I love you so much, Mr. Hummel-Anderson.”
“I thought we agreed on Anderson-Hummel, you know alphabetically?”
“I know, I just wanted one more tease before we have to shut up about it, because you know I want to shout it from the rooftops, that we are finally married.”
“Soon, Mr. Anderson-Hummel, soon.” Blaine smirked back as he reached across the car to kiss his husband again.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the window of the car.
They jumped apart and saw a disgruntled Mercedes.
“Took you guys long enough. Well at least you're not in the back seat this time. What is it with you two and hooking up at weddings.” she sassed at Blaine, as he climbed out of the car.
“It's not a hookup this time, Mercedes,” Kurt said as he climbed out of the passenger seat, showing her his left hand and the ring on it. “Blaine and I are back together, for good this time,” he said before giving her a hug.
“Finally! I am so happy for you both! Looks like another glee wedding is in our future!” she said as she looped her arm through Kurt’s as he looked over at Blaine, who beamed back at him.
Blaine followed the two of them into the barn, as Mercedes filled them in on the pre-wedding drama they missed this morning, which included something about Tina wanting to propose to Mike.

Kurt and Blaine soon found themselves mingling with Burt and Carole. Kurt could tell his father was nervous but excited to be officiating. He just kept babbling on and he didn't notice Kurt placing his left hand over his father’s in comfort. Carole however did, “Kurt you’re wearing your ring again!”
“Oh, um, yeah, we're back together,” he said pointing between them, “and we’re, um, picking right up where we left off,” he said, grabbing Blaine’s hand with his other hand.
Burt and Carole nearly burst into tears as they each grabbed one of the boys in a huge hug.
Eventually Burt was so overcome with emotion and Carole needed to drag him away before he started crying, again.
“Imagine how he will react when we tell him we’re actually already married,” Kurt murmured into Blaine’s ear.
“As long as it's tears of joy and not anger, I think we will survive.”
Blaine placed a kiss on Kurt’s cheek and they turned their attention to the small ceremony space, where guests were starting to find their seats.
Kurt was pointing out the lights and decor he helped arrange the night before, when Sue Sylvester appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
“Klaine, will you come with me, please? We have a bit of a situation,” she urged.
“Nice try, Sue, but we're not gonna fall for an elevator in a barn trick.”
“Oh, no, Porcelain, don't thank me for forcing you back into the arms of tiny Sal Mineo. Listen, I swear to you on Will Schuester's future grave, this is a legitimate Brittan-emergency.”

“Kurt, Blaine, the whole time I was planning this high-end barn wedding, all I could think about was you guys, and not because you remind me of the pig and the gay rat from Charlotte's Web, but because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you guys, okay? I looked up to you as a couple in high school. You showed me there was a place for me and Santana, too. I mean, you taught me how to be brave. And when you guys called off your wedding, it just broke my heart. Because it felt like my dream had died, so I want my dream back,” Brittany said as she was standing in her bridal suite.
“Okay. I still don't get what you're talking about, though,” replied a confused Blaine.
“Yes, you do, just think about it,” came from a shocked Kurt.
“What Brittany is saying, Blaine, is that out of our love for your love, we have conspired to deceive and manipulate and, yes, imprison you briefly all to reach this moment. We have two tuxes, do we have two grooms?” came from an insistent Sue.
Kurt and Blaine shared a look that said a million different things.
“While we appreciate this Brittany, we all know Santana wouldn’t agree with this. Us crashing her wedding,” Kurt said with an agreeing Blaine beside him.
“Think again. Turns out, I’m like the godfather on wedding days,” came from behind a dressing screen in the corner of the room, as Santana emerged. “ Whatever my bride wants, my bride gets.”
Once again Kurt and Blaine shared a look, which ended when Blaine dug into his pocket and pulled out a ring.
“We can’t join in on your wedding, because we're already married,” Blaine said as he slipped the ring on and they both held up their left hands. Both beaming with pride.
“We did it this morning, and no one knows. We hope you aren’t mad,” Kurt said unsure.
Brittany and Santana looked at each other and then Brittany let out a high pitched squeal as Santana rolled her eyes with a smile. Brittany ran over to Kurt and Blaine and roped them into a group hug. After a few moments Brittany managed to rope Santana in as well, as Sue gave Kurt and Blaine awkward pats on the back.
“I know I technically don’t get my dream now, but as long as my dolphins are happy, I’ll be happy,” Brittany said as she broke up the hug. “We still get to share our anniversary. We should make a pact that we celebrate together every year. We can-”
“Hold up, Brittany,” Kurt interrupted, “let's get you two married first, before we start planning anniversaries.”
“And maybe not every year, maybe every fifth year?” suggested Blaine

“That was a beautiful ceremony,” Blaine said as he watched people mingling during the cocktail hour. “I especially loved the work in progress part. We should steal that for our vows.”
“I think we should tell my dad and Carole,” Kurt responded anxiously.
Burt and Carole were off to the side having a conversation with Mr. Schue and Ms. Pillsbury. The couple made their way over to the adults, as Blaine slid his ring back on his finger.
“Hey, Mr. Schue, Ms. Pillsbury, would we be able to borrow my dad and Carole for a second?”
The two teachers nodded and left to go join in with the rest of the wedding guests.
“Hey bud, what's up?”
“Blaine and I did something this morning, before we got here. Please don’t be mad. It was very spur of the moment.”
The two boys held up their left hands and the string lights hanging above them reflected off their rings.
They could see tears welling up in their parent’s eyes.
“We want to have a ceremony like this one, well maybe not a barn in Indiana, but something back in New York. Maybe in the summer or something. We know we are it for each other,” Kurt said in a rush.
“Like you were talking about earlier, taking every moment we have in life, and taking it for everything. We just couldn’t stand to be apart any longer,” Blaine continued.
“I’m not mad. I get it,” Burt responded, as he took Carole’s hand, “I’m so happy you both found each other again. This is going to be one heck of a ride, especially for you two, but I know you both will get through it, together. I love you Kurt, and Blaine you know you’ve always been another son to me. I guess now it's legal.” Burt said as he was barely keeping it together.
Carole was crying now, as Blaine handed her a handkerchief, which she took and then pulled him into a hug, while Burt did the same with Kurt. Eventually they switched partners.
“We are not done talking about this, but I am so happy for you two, and so proud of you. You know they would both be so proud of you guys.” Burt said as he looked up to the roof of the barn.
“Okay before he starts crying all over again, Burt, let's go get you another drink. Congrats you two. Enjoy the rest of the night,” Carole said as she dragged Burt to the bar.
“Well that went well,” Blaine said as he grabbed Kurt’s hands and kissed him.
“Yeah now we just got to tell everyone else,” Kurt said with a chuckle.
“I think I might have an idea of how to do that.”
“I knew I married you for a reason. There’s a brilliant brain under that gelmet,” Kurt joked as he wrapped his arms around Blaine’s shoulders.
“And here I thought you married me for my dashing looks and how good I am in bed,” Blaine joked back as he wrapped his arms around Kurts waist.
“Those too. Those too” Kurt said as he kissed his husband, before they went off in search of the brides to tell them Blaine’s idea.

“And for the first time in public, I present to you Mrs. and Mrs. Lopez-Pierce”
Santana and Brittany came through the barn doors hand in hand, as the DJ began playing an instrumental version of “Landslide”.
Kurt and Blaine watched from the sidelines, Kurt behind Blaine, with his chin hooked over Blaine’s shoulder, swaying to the music.
When the song was over, Santana took the mic from the DJ, “Brit and I would like to thank all of you guys for celebrating our special day with us. We love and appreciate you all. But we are not the only ones to be celebrated today. Two of our friends also got married today, and they didn’t get a chance to do their first dance. So they asked us, if for a few moments, we would share the spotlight and allow them the honor of their first dance.”
The crowd starts murmuring wondering who the other couple could be.
Brittany took the mic from Santana, “So, Kurt and Blaine, the dance floor is yours.”
Blaine led Kurt to the dance floor, as an instrumental version of “Come What May” began to play. They sang the song to each other, only loud enough for the other to hear.
As the song came to a close, they shared a sweet kiss, and were soon joined on the dance floor by Brittany and Santana, “I’m just gonna tell you guys, there isn't a dry eye in this barn. So don’t look at anyone, or you're gonna lose it as well,” Santana whispered to the husbands.
The two grooms and brides shared another hug, and were soon joined by their friends and family in one giant hug in the middle of the floor. Everyone was crying and laughing.
The DJ then asked everyone to take their seats, as dinner would soon be served.

Kurt and Blaine ended up at a table filled with their former classmates, Rachel next to Kurt and Sam on the other side of Blaine. Of course everyone wanted to know the events that led up to the two husbands getting married, because last they heard both were seeing other people yesterday. They told them about Blaine breaking up with Dave the prior afternoon, after he realized he was still in love with Kurt. And Kurt talked about how the advice Walter gave him that morning, had him literally running back into the arms of Blaine. They left out a few details, but they ultimately decided they couldn’t bare to be apart anymore, and the thought of weddings in the air, they just decided to go for it. They promised they would have a ceremony and party in the near future. Very low key, opposite their wedding they had started planning a year ago. And hopefully less dramatic.
***
Eventually the discussion shifted to smaller discussions around the table. Blaine was currently talking with Sam, which left Kurt beaming at his husband with the biggest smile on his face.
Kurt felt a squeeze on his knee and turned to face Rachel, who looked like she was gonna burst into tears at any second, but also had the biggest smile on her face. Kurt pulled her into a one armed hug, because his hand hadn’t left Blaine’s all throughout the meal.
Rachel wiped a tear from her eye, “You know he would be so proud of you right? One of the last conversations I had with him, all he could talk about was being your best man. Your mom would be so happy too.”
“I know. I’ve felt both of them here with us all day.”
Rachel looked across the table to Sam and then across the room to Burt and Carole.
Kurt followed her eyes, “You know they’d be okay with you dating other people. They both found their second loves, so why can’t you? You’ll alway be part of the family, no matter what.”
Rachel blushed and ducked her head.
Kurt felt a tug on his arm, and turned to look back at his husband. Kurt leaned over and kissed him and whispered “I love you.” Blaine smiled in return and kissed him back.

The dance floor opened back up, Blaine led Kurt to center and they barely left each other's side for the rest of the night.
It wouldn’t be a glee wedding without everyone taking turns singing their favorite songs, turning the night into the ultimate karaoke event.
Santana and Brittany invited Kurt and Blaine up to sing the final song of the night, with them.
“On behalf of our inspirational brides, my husband and I…” Kurt began.
“Whoa, that was weird to say..” Blaine interrupted with a chuckle.
“Uh, we would like to say thank you. Thank you, thank you so much to all of our family and to all of our friends for showing us, by example, that real love is worth waiting for.”
“And worth fighting for.”
“Once again we’d like to thank our lovely brides for allowing us to crash their reception for a bit.”
“This is our last song, after we are done, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here,” Santana concluded as “Our Day Will Come” began.
***
After the song ended, the four wedding participants were escorted out to their cars surrounded by their friends and family. Sam had snuck Blaine’s keys from him earlier and moved his car closer to the barn. They reached the car, and before getting in, Blaine grabbed Kurt in a kiss and even managed to dip Kurt, as their friends and family cheered. He brought Kurt backup right and opened his door for him. Kurt got in as Blaine ran to the driver’s side and got in as well. As he started up the car, Kurt grabbed him in one more kiss over the center console.
“Ready for the wedding night? They say the marriage isn’t legal until the consummation,” Kurt joked as he situated himself in his seat.
“Well what are we waiting for?” Blaine joked back as he put the car in drive.
They smiled at each other. Blaine honked the horn twice as they drove off into the night, starting the rest of their lives together.
