Chapter Text

Kurogiri was once again cleaning the whole bar today, not a speck of dust or dirt will be left behind. He was, at the moment, making sure all the tables were off the ground so he could clean it better. He also put the tables in the air as he scrubbed the floor by hand and it would make it so much more clean in here. His quirk can be so helpful in times like this. Letting his mind fly as he was getting the bar as clean as possible. Today was the day the young master would receive his quirks and may just wake up as well but Kurogiri doubts that. The Bakugo's will be told that the young master will wake up soon but that they can’t come so they don’t overwhelm him, when he dose wake up that is.

They would get to know that the young master might lose some or even all of his memories. It would be another hard hit but the older Bakugo's will be able to handle it and they might even be happy about it. Yes, the young master could not remember his past life or his mother. Yes, he could forget them or everything in general but he would be free from that pain for a bit. He would be able to focus on himself but not much. After the young master learns that he had a mother his brain will try to find answers but nothing will come back and it will just hurt more for a short time.

The loss of having something but never truly getting to experience it, the loss of the possibility. If the young master gets his memories back, that is a huge if, he will probably be upset at himself for forgetting for so long. Kurogiri will have to help him through that because no one else around them could really understand what it felt like to suddenly remember your two bes- “Kurogiri?” His head shot up to look at Tomura near the stairs. The young teen was looking up at the air for some reason as Kurogiri himself only now realized that the floor was almost done. “Yes Master Tomura, do you need anything from me?”

Tomura just kept looking up and then quickly moved his eyes between from where he was looking then back to him. Kurogiri was trying to read the teens silent question but couldn’t tell what it was. “Is there a spider or mouse somewhere, I know how much you hate those pests.” Tomura just shook his head and looked between Kurogiri and what he was fixated on again. He then started to hear Master Hisashi’s footsteps get closer to the stairs then down them. A loud yawn was heard and Hisashi came down with blurry eyes, scratching the back of his head as a pen outline was on his cheek.

“Why are we just standing by…. The…. huh…” Master Hisashi was quick to gather himself as he looked into Kurogiri’s eyes then to the ceiling. Was there some elaborate joke going on that he didn’t know about at the moment. “Did you know?” Tomura asked a question that seemed to be addressed to Master but Kurogiri couldn’t tell what the rest of the question was supposed to be. “No…. no to be honest I didn’t think it was possible because it never showed up but I guess we just needed to wait for longer then I first thought.”

“Do you think it might have been a mental block or maybe this is just subconscious right now.”

“We also have to account for the fact that the colors are extremely light but not white and blue, Tomura.”

“Right right…. No blue or white but also not black and purple ssssoooo….” Tomura threw a look to Master Hisashi and Kurogiri was slowly getting more and more worried about what weird conversation they were having. He can’t tell if it was about him or not and that was definitely not helping with his nerves. “Everyone has been very emotional for a long time, maybe I was right and an influx of emotions was the way to help with the blocks?”

After Master Hisashi mentioned something about emotional influx, Kurogiri finally noticed the wisps of lilac and storm cloud gray. Kurogiri was light purple and gray, not black and dark purple. That didn’t make his breathing pick up, nope, it didn’t make Kurogiri absolutely frightened at the implications of that at all, everything is normal and fine an- “We should probably stop acting like he’s not able to understand us.”

Master Hisashi nodded his head. “Yea- Hey Kurogiri, I’m sure you have finally seen that the mist you have isn’t black right now, yea?” He tried to stay composed and together but he felt like the gulp he took while he nodded his head was as loud as thunder. He didn’t want to move or disrupt this event because this could help him, could help them, maybe he could finally remember something, anything

“Good… good…” Hisashi’s eyes shot back up but zipped back down to him in a matter of seconds. Kurogiri was about to look up but was stopped by master Hisashi getting his attention. “Hey so, I think I should tell you that you're using your quirk.” He nodded his head again because he was, he knew this. Kurogiri was using his quirk to hold up the furniture that wasn’t bolted down so he could scrub the floor. “Y-you know that, good. Slowly and carefully look up and try not to freak out.”

Kurogiri took in a big breath and it seemed so did everyone else in the room. Tomura was tense and trying his best not to run over to him and Hisashi looked ready to stop something from happening. After collecting himself a little bit more, he looked and… and was shocked…. That there were lilac clouds holding up the furniture. Not portals just porting the furniture in the air while he worked. The light purple mist became solid so that it could actually just hold the furniture, not just toss it around for a bit but… but.. “I-i don’t have a cloud quirk.”

He didn’t have a cloud quirk. He had a coordinates quirk that would allow him to see the place of whatever coordinates he thought of. He also had a warp quirk that would allow him to warp to any spot that he could see, he didn’t have a cloud quirk. Kurogiri only had two quirks, not three. He… he…. The clouds…. The ruble… Some people were standing in front of him but they were blurry. Black, yellow, purple were standing near him but why was everything so blurry. He was supposed to go somewhere, he was doing something. Yellow and purple weren't there, he was with black. They were doing something, walking somewhere? There were clouds but Kurogiri didn’t have a cloud quirk. Black liked the clouds, so did yellow and purple but black looked scared. Why was black so scared, there was yelling? No it was loud rumbling and screaming, ear piercing screaming that was begging for something. Gray was all around him but Kurogiri knew he didn’t have a cloud quirk, it was ruble he was under the building again. He was trapped again and black was screaming for him to get out of somewhere. He didn’t know how he got here, he’s supposed to be with master and Tomura. Kurogiri hasn’t seen black in years and black didn’t know where he was. Was the master, tomura, and the kids okay? There were kids right. They were going to be crushed, he was going to be crushed. Black was was a kid, black was a kid, was Kurogiri save black or a group of kids. He was using his clo- NO NO NO NO KUROGIRI DOESN'T HAVE A CLOUD QUIRK HE DOESN'T HAVE A CLOUD QUIRK HE DOESN'T HAVE ONE HE NEVER HAD A CLOUD QUIRK HE WAS COVERED IN MIST AND NOT CLOUDS HE WAS KUROGIRI THAT WAS TRYING HIS BEST TO SAVE AIZA- “KUROGIRI!!!”

A burst of air was finally able to make it past his mouth as he eyes bulged open. Kurogiri started coughing as something gray and light purple started to move around in his peripherals. He was laying on the ground curled up into a ball and Hisashi, master Hisashi was standing close to him while cuts littered his face and clothes. “There we are, you're finally looking at me.” he was the only person he could see, everything was still a little blurry. “Your breathing is still a little off, In 1 2 3 4 …. hold 1 2 3 4 5 6 …. Out 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8..” Kurogiri stuttered through the breaths as he tried his best to think about what had happened but it was so fuzzy.

“Can you tell me 5 things you can hear?” He looked up at Hisashi, breath stuttering for a second but then tried his best to slowly look around. “Y-you.” Kurogiri’s voice rasped out. “Th-the bar taps.”   “That’s good, anything else.” His eyes skid across his somewhat blurry vision and sees gray, he can’t tell what it is but he can hear it. “Som-omething is swishing by us.” He continues on. “Tom-tomura’s breathing is a b-bit raspy.”   “It is, you only have one more.”   “drunks…. D-drunks outside walking around.”

“That’s good, can you name 4 things you can feel?”

“The fl-floor…. My clothes.” Kurogiri stops for a second as he releases a normal feeling that is not there from a portion of his body. “M-my mist.” He can tell that his face and most of the top half of his body is mist free. “That’s great, can I get one more?” He moves his fingers a bit trying to think of something. Focusing on the feeling of touch let’s Kurogiri finally notice that he’s- “T-tears… I can feel my tears.”

“That’s perfect Kurogiri, can you name 3 things you can see?”

“You…” His eyes land on quickly moving mist? Or are those clou- “The gray-ish mist moving around and.” He watches as the mist brushes by a table that’s on the ground but his eyes focus on something else. “A b-broken table leg.”

“Ok, Two things you can taste.”

“Dirt…. I haven’t been drinking a bunch of water lately and I just got done cleaning, so some leftover chemical taste.” Kurogiri starts to move into a sitting position, should the mist go back or stay how it is.

“One thing you can smell.”

“The cleaners I used to clean the floor again.”

“That’s perfect Kurogiri. Do you want touch, space, or proximity?” Hisashi was holding his arms out as an invitation but he doesn't know what he wants. Kurogiri kinda wants a hug but thinking about touch sends a feeling of ants crawling down his back. He blinks a few times and notices that Tomura was standing by the stairs the whole time, he looks…. Scared. He looked back up to the impossibly tall man and held up 3 fingers while saying proximity. Hisashi then proceeds to plop onto the ground while just looking at him.

Kurogiri didn’t know what to say or do so they just existed near each other for a little. The clearly still stuttering breath from him, the calm deep breaths from Hisashi and the light almost hard to hear breaths from Tomura who was still by the stairs. At one point Hisashi cleared his throat and Kurogiri just slowly looked over to him. He had a somewhat concerned expression which was weird, Master Hisashi usually never shows worry toward him. “Kurogiri…. Aren’t you getting tired?” His words confused the mist man as he just stared at him, why would he be tired? Emotionally tired understandable because he did just have some type of emotional breakdown for some reason. Kurogiri could tell that Hisashi was asking that as a physically tired though, not emotionally. “You look a bit confused, your mist is still down if you didn’t notice but…. Kurogiri, you are still holding up some of the chairs and tables.”

“Huh?”

“The tables and chairs.”......”You threw some of them onto the ground with your quirk once you noticed you were holding them but you're still keeping some up.”

At this revelation, Kurogiri looked up and was once again filled with this weird emotion that he couldn’t quite understand. As soon as his eyes landed on the lilac clouds, they dissipated more until it was mist once again and all the furniture fell to the floor. When the furniture hit the ground it sounded like bombs going off with how quiet it was, Kurogiri saw how Tomura flinched at the loud noise. He didn’t know how he did that. He wasn’t supposed to be able to do that, that wasn’t his quirk. “Kurogiri, look at me.” His head snapped up and then he felt the air that moved around his head and noticed that it was not his normal mist. Quickly the mist engulfed his head again, hiding the face that no one can find because the commission or someone high up, hid his files. They hid the only thing that could help find him again, he's blank.

“Kuro…. You're okay now?” He didn’t know the answer to that question. He was supposed to be Kurogiri, Tomura's babysitter, master Hisashi’s friend and butler type person Inko’s non-blood brother. He took a big gulp of air and then shuttered while he just shrugged his shoulders. “That’s okay Kurogiri, you are allowed to not know.” He wrapped his arms around himself while Hisashi held his hands in the air wanting to help more but not really knowing how to. “Do you need to go lay down?”  Kurogiri needed to work, they were going to the doctor today for, he needed to help with the young master, he needed to- “Now now, stop that Kuro. I think you got my mumbling habit because you don’t need to work. We are going to the doctor today but it’s just an in person update, he’s also going to learn of the quirks I’m going to give my son.” He looked up to Master Hisashi as so much was running through his head, he needed. “You can rest, you are allowed to rest.”

Kurogiri looked at the one that for some reason cares so much. Why did he care for him, wasn’t he just an experiment. He was supposed to just be an experiment but then he came out wrong. He…. he wanted to sleep. Kurogiri nodded his head as he tried to stand up. He stumbled a bit and Hisashi grabbed his arm, helping him stand more. Quiet words of reassurance were told to him as Tomura slowly approached them. “A-a-are you okay giri?” Oh, oh his voice was trembling. Kurogiri forgot how much the sound of furniture breaking triggered the young boy, he must have thought about his old father for a second. He could only nod his head because he doesn't trust his voice at the moment.

“Y-you aren't hurt?” Now Kurogiri didn’t know how to answer that one so he just shrugged his shoulders. Tomura looked a little upset, well more sad than upset, at his answer and got a determined glint in his eyes. “Th-then we need to get you to bed.” Hisashi started to help him as they went closer to the stairs and in turn closer to Tomura. When they reached the stairs, master tomura started to help get him up to the second floor as well. He wishes he was stronger. He always breaks at one point, the last time he was down for almost a week. No movement, no thought, no food or water no pain, just him and the black void in his room or his mind. It’s pleasant to just sit there in nothingness, it was where he originated from.

They got to his room and Tomura opened the door for them. Hisashi and him walked in, soon he was on his bed and the desire to sleep became stronger. The want for the void forever calls, will the young master have this urge to? Was this just something that Kurogiri dealt with or is the last bit of his humanity knowing that he’s supposed to be dead. Is this what every Nomu with sentience is going to feel, why is he worrying so much about this. It’ll only be him and the young master that has to deal with this long ache for nothing but the deepest and thoughtless void.

“Good night Kuro.”    “Night Giri.”

Hu? It was only morning. He felt so tired though. Maybe a quick nap will help him. Kurogiri sunk into his bed and he let the void consume his last waking thought. He hopes it’s a good night.

—-------------------

That was a lot…. Hisashi didn’t think that would happen today but both Tomura and Kurogiri have been very emotional. It would make sense at one point that Kurogiri wouldn’t be able to stay stable and use a part of his quirk that is always dormant. High emotions are when they see his lighter colors, so of course he would be able to make clouds at one point too. It was a logical conclusion but it just never crossed his mind until he woke up today and saw Kurogiri holding up tables and chairs with light purple clouds.

Hisashi was able to get Tomura to calm down at one point, he explained that Kurogiri was okay and that they would still go see his brother. The brother that was still asleep and not going to wake up until Hisashi was sure about everything he was doing. He didn’t want to mess up his son after he woke up, he’ll just wait to give him more quirks later on and the handful they have now is perfect. Besides the fact they are going to see his son today, they need to also get food to eat, answer any call that Mitsuki will throw their way and lastly making sure the doctor stays in line.

Hisashi is certain that the doctor stayed in line like he always does and if he didn’t a new blood stain would be on the floor but it’s always good to keep a reminder in the present mind. “Dad, can I have grape juice?” He looked over at Tomura as he tried to climb onto the top of the table without the assistance of a chair. Hisashi just squinted at Tomura as he failed at the objective of simply swinging his leg a little bit higher.

“What are you doing?”

“Trying to be taller.”

He looked at him for a little longer before shaking his head and going to the fridge to look for the juice that Tomura asked for. It’s not like he isn’t tall either, Tomura is actually decently tall but he’s mad that he’s not as tall as Hisashi himself yet. The growing 12 year old will get taller but for now it’s dinner tables to be taller than him, Hisashi guesses. “If you're done standing on the table, I have your juice for you.”

The sound of a body hitting the floor and a loud ‘ow’ soon after almost makes Hisashi laugh his ass off at whatever is happening behind him. “.... Next time please… calmly get off the table.” He turned around to see Tomrua standing straight up with a wide eye look and that almost got him as he slowly handed the cup to his…… very chaotic son. “After we are done….”

“You want to laugh.”

“I know I want to laugh but I-”

“I’m specifically trying to make you laugh.”

Hisashi huffed out the air as a smile slowly started to form. “I guessed that by wha-”

“If air was solid and could be eaten, would a creep pay more money so they could have their darling's breath?”

That’s what killed him. He’s suddenly sputtering and laughing as he leaned onto the table. “HAHAHAHA HHAAA W-WHAT?!?!”

You heard me.

Hisashi could feel tears forming in his eyes at the randomness of what was just said to him. Tomura just stands there with a blank wide-eyed look, calmly drinking his grape juice. He looked back up and quickly went back to laughing as Tomura's face just made this whole ‘joke’ funnier. “Sooooo… After food we…dad?” Hisashi doesn't say anything as he just tries to get his breath back. “Oh wow, I actually just broke you.” He finally was able to sit down in a chair after a little bit more laughing and his pre-teen son just staring at him. Hisashi is kinda shocked that Kurogiri didn’t wake up from all the laughing and the body falling but that man must be more tired then he originally thought.

“You did say earlier that we were still going to see my little brother.” Hisashi nodded his head after finally being able to get a proper breath. Whipping the tears from his eyes as Tomura has a shit eating grin on his face.

“Yea, we are going to be going to see your brother.” He let out one final breath of air and stood back up. “But I need to make us something simple to eat before we start walking there.”

An incredulous look was thrown his way as he walked back over to the fridge, now looking for lunch meat for some sandwiches. “Walk?” Hisashi rolled his eyes as he got the lunch meat out. “Yes Tomura.” He grabbed some bread and then looked back at his son's face, it honestly almost made him laugh again. “We are going to walk there.”

“Why in the fuck would we walk?!”

“Hey! No saying that word.”

“You never cared beforehand, better not start caring now.”

Hisashi gave him a deadpan look and then went back to making them some food. “We are walking because Kurogiri needs to sleep, we both need to get more sun-”   “-And apparently you just want some heroes to jump our ass-”   “-No…. I’ll use a quirk to have a disguise on, no one will notice me and I'm pretty sure All Might won’t randomly be walking in the red light district.”

“Oh yea, with your luck he would be.”

Hisashi shot a fake glare at Tomura and set the sandwich in front of him. “Eat.” He sat down but quickly got reprimanded for not making one for himself. He then made one more, sat back down and was welcomed with a bit of a good sandwich. They both ate quietly as they thought about how ‘Izuku’ would look by now. The last time Hisashi saw him he was a light gray-ish drown and breath… at least. He also wasn’t bleeding at that point too so that was another plus but with him being in such a rushed state, Hisashi didn’t look at his son's body as much as what he usually would to make sure he was safe. This little visit is going to be just as emotional as this morning with Kurogiri’s quirk making clouds for the first time in forever. Why does everything have to have so many emotions? Inko was better at dealing with all those, not him.

Hisashi Shigaraki was not an emotional person, ask his dead brother and his wife. Both of them will say he sucks ass at it.
