Work Text:

Izuku wasn’t a person to get mad over anything, seriously, you could stab the kid and he’ll apologize for not being good enough to stay alive.

And that’s exactly why when Izuku came into the classroom looking like he could commit murder and arson at the same time nobody tried to bother him. Bakugo was staying quietly in his seat without even calling Midoriya ‘nerd’ or something like that.

Denki and Kirishima didn’t come running to him to show a new trick they found, they were just looking with concern in their eyes at him.

Iida wasn’t even looking his way, understanding that the boy needed his space.

So, mad Izuku was never a good sign. The One For All user was writing in his notebook without muttering, which in case you didn’t know was very weird, he was looking like he didn’t sleep in days and had forgotten to eat for years.

Nobody tried to bother the boy.

Soon the bell rang and Aizawa entered the class, looking as tired as usual, he looked at everyone in the classroom pausing just a bit at the sight of Izuku.

“Good morning class” The teenagers started asking Aizawa right away questions about today’s lesson, making the underground hero sigh.

“Today you will make an essay with a free subject, which means you can write about anything you want with the condition of it being at least 2 pages long” Aizawa could see Iida starting to write right away while Denki just looked confused.

“Anything we want Sensei?” Tsuyu asked.

“Mhm”

For a while Aizawa paid no attention to his class, looking over the tests that they took yesterday. Midoriya’s one was a perfect score as always, he still, was a problem child though.

He put the tests down deciding to go and see what his kids were writing about.

Iida decided to write about Heroes Laws, Tsuyu about animals, Denki about Greek mythology (Which was a surprise for Aizawa) Uraraka about clothes and fashion, and Bakugo about cooking (Again, a surprise for Aizawa).

Aizawa was just about to go back in his seat when he realized something, Midoriya wasn’t writing anything. He stopped behind the kid, Izuku didn’t seem to see his sensei slowly leaning behind him to see what was he doing.

Izuku was drawing random shapes on the desk not even getting his pen or notebooks out, he didn’t even notice that Aizawa was pretty much straight up staring at him in his right, he wasn’t even conscient about everything that was happening around him, which made the older worry.

“Midoriya?” The kid flinched as he finally noticed his teacher next to him.

Izuku looked around him only now realizing that his other classmates were half done with their essays when he didn’t even take his notebook out.

“Sh-I mean sorry Sensei!” Izuku turned to his teacher “I must’ve not paid attention, I apologize!”
He somehow managed to get both his pen and notebook at the same time from his bag.

Aizawa didn’t answer and just waited for the teenager to start writing something, but Izuku just seemed to be frozen in place with his hand slightly shaking. The whole class was now staring at them and for sure that didn’t help Izuku with his anxiety and mood.

Uraraka raised an eyebrow in his way that only made Midoriya shrink more into his seat, barely holding his pern. His vision was getting blurry which only meant one thing, tears, and God didn’t he wish he would be in his dorm so he could cry in peace.

“Problem child come with me, I need you to help me with some papers” Shouta grabbed Izuku by his arm and almost dragged him out of the classroom but not before screaming “Iida you’re in charge!”.

As soon as Izuku was out of the classroom the tears started rolling, he stopped walking and choked on a sob.

Aizawa looked at him with concern in his eyes, the kid, his kid wasn’t okay. He was quick to be by his side trying to calm him down “Midoriya, hey, can you hear me?” The teenager barely managed to nod before slowly going into a crouching position.

“Hey, hey, none of that, come on, up we go” Aizawa was almost going into a crouching position himself with how much his student was leaning on him.

“Kid, let’s just make it to my dorm, it’s just a minute away plus we’re in the middle of the hall” Izuku understood what Aizawa meant and got up on shaking legs.

“Sensei…” Shouta didn’t know what to do, he wasn’t the best at comforting people and he for sure didn’t know how to help Midoriya. They slowly walked down the hall until they to Aizawa’s apartment, Midoriya took his shoes off and straight up fell on the couch.

The older went to take a glass of water for Midoriya, he was full-on sobbing now so of course, he would need water after he was done.

“It’s alright kid, you can tell me what’s wrong” Aizawa placed the water on the table next to them and went to sit down next to the boy, he grabbed Izuku and half put him over his lap. “Do you want to tell me what’s wrong?”.

He could feel Izuku nod in his chest ”I-It’s just” his sentence got interrupted by a sob “too much” Midoriya put his arms around Aizawa’s neck “Everything I-is too much today” he finally managed to say.

“Was it because of the lesson today? Or did you get too much homework? Or just felt tired after training?” The kid shook his head, everything was fine today, he himself didn’t know why he was feeling like this, having a breakdown over nothing.

“It’s alright, sometimes we just feel like this, there is nothing wrong with that” Aizawa was in full panic mode, he didn’t know what to do but he just felt like he needed to protect and help his problem child.

Izuku looked at him with teary green eyes saying only one word that shocked Aizawa.

“Da…”

Did Midoriya just call him dad? Did he hear that right?

Aizawa placed a hand in Izuku’s hair, playing with him while slowly bouncing his knee “There there, it’s okay Zuzu” Izuku only held him tighter “Da, it hurts” and god knows that they were words that broke him to hear coming from his kid.

“I know kiddo, you’ll get better” He took both him and Midoriya to his queen-sized bed, getting comfortable on the pillows.

“Because Da is here now”.

And Izuku believed him.
