When reviewing the film, famed and beloved film critic Barnabus Silas (known to his fans as "BS") had this to say regarding Goncharov: "Goncharov is less of a film, and more a series of quick instances - so quick, you barely percieve that there is a story happening in front of you. And yet, once it's over, you link all of those pieces together - the boat scene, the apple Katya bites into, the five second clip shown of Goncharov's wedding - and begin to understand. Goncharov is one of those rare films you watch backwards." I wanted to envoke this spirit while tackling one of my favorite but often overlooked aspects of Goncharov's plot: Katya's inability to concieve. Well, what if she could?
