Yes

Chapter Text

"You know what my dream is? I'm going to run my own circus and be the most famous imp eve and do what I wanna do!"

That dream stuck. It's what the imp kept in mind for almost his entire life and what kept him going for two decades to come. When the circus life hadn't been so kind or whenever life rears its ugly head, Blitzo knew who to go to, the one demon he could depend on.

"Watch. I'm going to make you proud!"

"You already had."

That warm voice, her comforting arms and words of encouragement were all he needed to get through the day.

All those rehearsals, the crowds cheering, and the moving and moving.

Blitzo straighten his suspender straps as he packed the last of his belongings inside the saddle. Really, the one items he'd deemed essential were merely a toothbrush, some coins, a blanket, one change of clothes, cigarettes, ready made meals and a lots of horse figurines.

He was too confident in himself.

The dead silent of the countryside as the early sun was beginning to rise, Blitzo dusted off his steed as he boarded. Lucifer knows his dad will throw a bitch fit if he sees him leaving without permission. Best to leave when he isn't looking or better yet passed out drunk under the sink.

By the time his hangover was over, it'll be too late for him to chase after him. Not that-

Blitzo glanced down. Damn it all. His father might as well drink to forget he existed. It would've been so easy.

Sighing, he held the reins tightly as his trusty Spindle walked at a steady pace, away from the neighborhood of tents and towards the town gate. That's where Blitzo gently pulled the reins taunt, taking the time to look over his shoulder.

A part of him pushed for him to continue and another deep inside suggested to turn around.

Silence rang.

Blitzo looked forward, tracing his fingers over the skull shaped choker around his neck.

"Wishing can only take you part of the way. You have to help it out with some hard work of your own."

Nodding firmly, Blitzo gripped the reins, directing Spindle forward.

"Come on girl, we're going to Pentagram City!" He exclaimed, forgetting his brief sadness, replacing it with excitement as the slightly rocking strolling turned into brisk walking. Sounds of his horse clomping on the dry dirt as she walked down the wide empty street, Blitzo took a deep breath of dry air in, closing his eyes only briefly before opening them to turn around again.

He saw the tents growing farther apart and the empty broken roads growing ever so close.

I know it's crazy
But I am not afraid
A country imp
In a different world
Tryin' to find my own way....

His grip on the reins tighten as the brownish yellow road turned infinite and what he recognized as familiar turned unfamiliar the more distance grown between him and his home.

More excitement rose in him as worry faded with each second and each feel of the upcoming moist breeze brushing pass him. He could feel it steeping in with every step.

I know that I can be
Whatever I can dream...

The sun rose high and the path grew tighter as Blitzo and his steed pass through a path of tightly packed trees in a forest. Upon looking at the map he'd managed to sneak home without his father looking, he saw the quickest way to the big city was through the forest north out of the country.

Spindle whinnied, bowing her head low.

"Alright paperclip! Time for a break!" Blitzo exclaimed, shielding his eyes with his hands as he looked up. He hopped off his horse and led her to the nearest and widest shade he could find to set up camp. He dug through his bag, spreading out his blanket as his horse settled down on the grass.

All for one
It's true
I'll show you what I can do
Tough heart
Clear mind
Fighting for what's right every time

Who knows the wonders that could be waiting in this big city? Clearly the best breeding spot for business despite his imp status. Unlike the tiny size of small towns and villages, Blitzo sought his opportunity to where there's more important, specifically the rich and important who could invest in his business, making it wildly successful.

Yes. Blitzo smiled the more he thought of it. Millions, maybe billions of money to buy a big office, maybe a whole ranch of horses. Business will boom and he'll show him. He'll show everyone.

He'll-

Pressing his back against his horse, Blitzo brought his hands behind his head, closing his eyes for a bit.

"Blitzo?"

"Yes mama?"

His mom's hands were soft, caressing around his face. Unlike the harsh roughness of his father's voice, his mother's was much softer and one he awaited to every morning.

It seem every time she delicately walked into the room, Blitzo couldn't help but smile. He pondered if everything his father instructed him to do, for his 'mom' was truly for her.

Then he woke up.

He found self amusement at the thought of how angry the ringleader might be the moment he noticed he was gone. Better yet, how he'll eat his words of his son not making it beyond performing non solo acts.

"Forget it son! If it weren't for Fizzarolli carrying our showbiz, you'll be on the streets."

Oh right...

Spindle seem to noticed her rider's halt in place as she nudged against him, snapping him out of it. To which, Blitzo merely shrugged. After all, who was he or anyone to say he couldn't run the solo act? He was in his thirties, his former childhood friend also pursued the solo act, so why not him?

Why not me?

What did-

I'm strong now
And that's how I know it won't be long now

The imp stood on top of the saddle once he spotted the end of the forest path which sloped downhill revealing another much clearer path to the big city. A cozy looking village with the starry castle just in the distance, visible and stood tall.

His eyes glimmered. Pictures didn't do the real thing justice, seeing the big city towering over his small countryside. Not even his family tent reached the height of the houses lined on the streets nor did a castle stood high and proud.

Wasting no time, Blitzo gripped the reins and his horse rushed forwards.

"Pentagram City! Let's go girl!"
