Summary
A summer evening at the Manor. As is tradition, Harry stays for dinner after dropping Albus off to spend the week with his best friend. Afterwards, he and Draco retire to the library for a brandy and their usual catch up. Conversation turns to their old Professor and Harry tells Draco about Severus Snape's relationship with Lily Potter. Draco cannot help but notice the painful parallels between Snape's sad history and his own unrequited feelings.

There was another long silence before Harry spoke again, very softly. “Draco, have you ever been in love?”
Draco looked up, eyebrows raised at the rare use of his given name and the intimate nature of the question. Harry gazed back, brilliant green eyes searching his face.
“Oh yes, Potter,” he said lightly. “Once. I took far too long to realise it, so rather missed my shot there. If I ever had one.”
