Chapter Text
You looked down at the paper in your hands, still in disbelief about it. Your grandmother, who was only 62, had passed away in her sleep. You held her obituary with shaking hands as you and your lawyer went over her living will and testament. “Ah here we are, she left you her whole estate, money included. She left everyone else…a single paper clip.” Your mother naturally was in jail at the moment, otherwise she would’ve had a complete fit over this, but you smiled softly.
“So when could I move in?” Your lawyer hummed. “Give me a few days to get everything sorted, you should be good to move in immediately. It is yours after all.” He replied.
Sure it wasn’t how you’d like to get a house, but it was better than the roach infested apartment.
“Thank you so much, keep in touch, let me know if you need anything from me.” He nodded as he took his leave, leaving you alone in your small studio apartment. You glanced down at the obituary again, it had been a long time since you saw the house last, you hoped it was in good condition still.
