“Ranboo,” Techno interrupted. Not particularly gently, either, bringing Ranboo’s rambling to a halt because, well—they were here. Unchanged. Ranboo was talking himself into a panic where there need be none. “Are you askin’ me how I knew I was a dude?"
Ranboo felt the shame shiver over him, cowering beneath that feeling of being in the spotlight, a thousand judging eyes on him, waiting, expecting. It was such a loaded question, and such a simple one despite that, and still Ranboo couldn’t bring it past his lips because it felt wrong. He’d set the words aside in his head, lined them all up in one neat little row, but even now, after hyping himself up to take that first step, he felt frozen in his tracks, rooted to the ground by his feet, unable to turn around and run despite wanting nothing more than that. Techno was looking more intently, now. Silent, because he knew a struggle with words when he saw it and knew Ranboo needed time, but firm in his expression, I’m here, you know I’m here, take your time, we’ve got all day.
Lip wobbling, Ranboo got himself to nod.
