Chapter 1: Day 1: Horror

Summary:

Inspired in slasher movies

Chapter Text

The blasting of the speakers was going to leave him deaf.

Enrico couldn't stand to stay a second more in the house. He already could feel a creeping headache, he was just surprised that he hadn’t gotten one yet. Maybe standing on a corner far from the rest was a good decision after all, it was entertaining, to a degree, seeing and listening how much they all fucked up from his own watching spot.
This kind of parties could be summarized by being a bunch sweaty bodies moving against each other in tandem with the thunderous music, screaming, laughing, encouraging each other to dance or drink more and do stupid things in general.

Of course there were others similar to him, away from the rowdy crowd where the ones that were said “not fitting in the mold” could be found drinking in their little groups and chatting over the noise. He did get close and even talked with some of them when his boredom was more than unbearable. It was easier for him to let out a tone and look of interest than to find the rhythm of a song that he had never heard or will hear in his life.

Enrico looked around again.

Was there something new? Was that a new couple making out on the couch? All of them were so into it that it looked like their lives depended on it. It was so uncomfortable but alcohol made everyone more foolish than they used to be. He wrinkled his nose not wanting to start thinking about what else many of them were doing in the empty rooms of the house. Foul fools. Like most frat parties tended to be full of, but this was someway worse, more chaotic and distasteful. He guessed it had to be that Halloween was around the corner, preparing a taste for what was to come.

He took a sip of his drink and got instantly reminded that it was a cheap beer. Offered to him by a shy looking girl, most likely dared to start a conversation with him but she just gave him the drink and ran away. He tsked, looking at the offensive liquid before leaving the cup on a nearby table.

It was all his brother’s fault.

Domenico dragged him to his friend's frat party with the excuse of doing him a favor since “he needed to relax” and “socialize more”. Empty concerns that he spat just to bug him. At the same time, trying to flex that he had plans that Friday night. Pucci could have just ignored him if only Perla hadn't passed by the kitchen and agreed that “It was a great idea because you have been so stressed lately” he appreciated her concern. And as much as he could with both of their insistence, at the moment he was taken aback, he couldn’t resist Perla’s puppy eyes and he was weak enough for them to work this time, in the end, he accepted.

Now he was stuck in the house.

Domenico was nowhere to be seen and until he couldn’t find his insufferable brother he was stuck there. To top it he gave him his phone and wallet before he left him because “I am just going to the bathroom real quick. I don't want to lose them by accident. What if someone steals them, Enrico?! ” he said…when they arrived. It has been three hours and he has looked everywhere without even a single sign of him.

His younger brother had been avoiding him on purpose all this time and he had to admit that he was really good at sneaking and hiding but he would better not think that he could pull the same trick two times ever again. It would be his mistake, this proved to Enrico that he needed to become a better seeker, there won't be second chances for him to be fooled like this.

He felt a chill running down his back, grounding him from his thoughts.

He felt like someone was watching him, again. Being observed by a creep was something worse than being his brother's bag. It was the third time that night that he felt observed, all of this because he looked stressed, this wasn’t in the slightless relaxing. Enrico looked at the crowd to someone that might be looking his way. Someone that he hadn’t seen yet in his whole time sulking around the house. To finally find the one who had only contributed to his headache of the day.

This time was different, a bit unexpected but he finally saw something. There was a flash of cat-like amber eyes locked on him before disappearing again into the sea of people. Pucci narrowed his eyes, frustrated for losing them so soon. He had the intention to look for them and ultimately catch them but when he was about to move, someone grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around.

“Enrico!” Very unfortunate timing for the reason of his current predicament had decided to make himself present “Can’t believe you are still here! Thought you left or somethin’! Have ya heard anythin’ juicy with those big ears of yours?” Domenico said with a mocking smile on his face and an empty plastic cup that he threw away to the side, for how he smelled it wasn’t the first one he had.

Pucci wasn’t surprised in the slightless by his attitude , pretty much ignoring the fact that he was the one who in a blink of an eye was gone. And the nerve to come and ask him for gossip as if he knew any. Even though he heard many. His brother was acting like a pesky brat again “Should I even speak to you after dragging and leaving me here alone?”
“C’mon! Don’t act like a grumpy old man. It ain’t a big deal, just tell a little somethin’ to yer younger brother! I will repay ya, I swear! Scout promise and all!” As much time as he spent being a boy scout (which wasn’t much practically getting kicked out in a week or so) he managed to do the scout sign wrong.

He sighed. Even if Domenico denied this in the future he had heard enough about him to have blackmail for months, there was nothing to lose “This girl… Jennifer. Broke up with Clay because he was cheating on her with her mom and his brother knew but he kept the secret” disinterested and unfaced, he paused when a girl got too close to offer his brother a drunk smile and a beer. Domenico smiled at her but he was still hanging on Pucci’s words. Something that he enjoyed, when his brother paid solely attention to him because of his not so secret love for gossip. It seemed to add that he seemed to know about the ones that he was talking about. When the girl gave up on getting Domenico to focus on her, she finally left. Pucci continued.

“He wanted to hook up with Clay’s sister”

“Wait really?” Domenico grinned from ear to ear and bursted out laughing when Pucci just gave a short nod to confirm that yes, he was serious “Haha! That’s sick. You know, I should keep ya around more but not right now. I’m a busy man and just came by to get my stuff so… ” With a quick move he tried to take his phone and wallet from Enrico’s hands only for him to be dodged and almost losing his balance.

Enrico glared at him “ ‘Get your stuff?’....Were you, by any chance, planning on leaving me here?”

His answer was a sly smile “Well, ya see, I gotta go. As I said, I’m a busy man. If ya wanna be my co-pilot on a street race yer more than welcome to come with me”
“I would do with being dropped near our house” he crossed his arms making sure Domenico’s things were well hidden. He didn’t want to let him go that easily.

“Too bad, not on my route, but you can always walk to the house you know? It's just gonna take like an hour or so… Close enough”

Enrico's eye twitched. Once again his brother has managed to upset him in record time, he always did the same. Doing whatever he wanted while he was the one having the responsibility to deal with his messes and their outcome. He wasn’t exactly the responsible brother by choice but with Domenico he just simply didn't have much of an option and that stood out. He was going to give him an earful about it like always but apparently he was predictable enough to be interrupted before even opening his mouth “Ugh y’know… there’s a bonfire near by the lake, just go to the backyard and walk all the way straight, ain’t a moron to get lost. More silent and in general just chill… I was told. Y’can wait for me there if ya want”

And that… That was the best he was going to get from his brother. He dropped his shoulders and sighed in resignation while Domenico grinned in triumph. In a second he had already taken his things from him “Anyway, see ya gramps” he rushed away as fast as he could, just leaving the sound of his laugh behind him and getting out of Enrico’s sight. Even if he wasn’t in the house anymore he swore he could still hear it mixed with all the noise of the party. So mocking, so infuriating-
But sometimes that’s just how siblings were.

Now he was seriously thinking of finally leaving. Maybe asking for someone to pick him up, but who would do it without spreading the word? Gossiping about the good twin going to a party while his parents weren't home was not the look he wanted to give. Especially to his parents, who would eventually be told about it if that was the case. Second option was walking, but he couldn’t, he didn’t wear shoes to walk long distances or being at a tacky frat party, either way, it was out of the picture. It was annoying that in the end his brother gave him a good alternative, and if he was going to stay (god knows until what hour in the morning) then at least would be somewhere more tolerable. The bonfire was the better option for him in the end, at least if his brother was right and there wouldn’t be that many obnoxious drunks. If not, he also heard about a nearby lake, staying there would do, in either case he would find a way to spend his time and probably suffer in silence. In the end it seemed to him that it was just going to be a long boring night.
Enrico must have looked miserable because he catched someone approaching him with the corner of his eye. This time he didn't have the energy to put on a kind tone or small smile to give the stranger to decline whatever they might want from him. So when he turned around he was surprised to find two piercing amber eyes that he swore he had seen before.

“Is the party boring?” Those amber eyes came with a smooth voice. The owner was a tall guy with blonde hair, black eyebrows and long lashes. Skin unblemished and pale, even though he could see three moles lined like piercings in his ear. He looked way too tidy, as if he just took a family photo or a fancy dinner way too much for a rowdy frat party, maybe even more than himself. It was possible that he was just a snob that liked to stand out. Whatever the reason was, Enrico couldn’t understand how he couldn’t spot him in the crowd all this time with how much he stood out.

He shaked his head a little and caught on the cheesy line the blonde gave him “I have seen better” Better in the sense of elegant celebrations in expensive restaurants or venues with real alcohol. But that wasn’t important at the moment, he wanted to know why he had been stalked all night “You know… I was starting to wonder if I had something on my face by the way you have been staring at me”

“So you have noticed…” He didn’t sound in the slightless embarrassed by his behavior but rather smug “I just moved a few days ago”

Enrico raised an eyebrow “Really now?”

“England. As you see, I’m very new around here. Still adapting to the culture” His accent did collaborate with his story despite how lame of an excuse it was “And you just have been sulking in the shadows. One might say you have been cheated on” that made him snort.

“Believe me, I’m not the one being cheated on” he said looking to the side at a girl that came with her girlfriend who was now making out with the third person of the night, for what he had seen “Dragged against your will then?” He looked back to the blonde who now had his arms crossed and smirk on his face “Pretty much”

“Of course. I agree with you. Even if this is my first party here my expectations were high” Did he get the memo that it was a frat party? He shouldn’t have hoped for much but Enrico was a little curious “Hmmm. Any ideas?” The smirk became a mischievous grin “Several. I’m giving it half an hour to get better”

“Dreaming is free” Enrico said dismissively.

“It surely is. If it doesn't then, I might do something myself”

“Many have tried, so far it’s all the same. What makes you different?”

“You will see” He sounded very confident for someone making such a promise, it was yet to be discovered, after all, it was a matter of time. He knew that for some this might be a good enough party, it only meant that they had really low standards. This one looked like someone with better taste. He wondered what he had on mind.
“Perhaps, or not. In the meantime I will be heading to the bonfire” the blonde looked amused and raised an eyebrow “I have been promised for it to be less… this” he pointed at two shirtless and visibly drunk guys that were fighting probably over nothing.

“I heard about it. Do you want me to say hi later after I succeed?” What an interesting line. It made him chuckle “You can do as you please. Just don’t expect me to be waiting for you” Enrico meant it to sound more teasing. Now a genuine smile grazed his lips, his mood had improved thanks to the blonde. It hadn’t been the longest or most deep conversation he ever had but somehow he enjoyed it. Alas, he walked away. He really needed a break from the house and the reeking smell of sweat and cheap booze.
When he was near the door he looked over his shoulder, he was met with two amber eyes locked on him. When he noticed Enrico’s gaze he seemed to mutter something that he couldn’t decipher by reading his lips, but it was enough to leave him amused.

It wasn’t a bad meeting, he would have to admit that there was something about him that stood out, this something that the others lacked, but he wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t able to remember his face or their little chat on a day or so.

The night air was fresh and a blessing to his nostrils in comparison to the odor of the inside. There were some people around, it wasn’t as disastrous as he thought it was going to be, though, for some reason there was a lawn mower on the top of the house and a motorcycle on a jacuzzi. He wasn’t going to bother thinking about it too much.
He was now in the backyard and trying to find some sort of entrance to the forest that would lead to the so-called bonfire. Avoiding socializing with those around him, especially the ones that seemed to encourage themselves to approach him. He remembered his brother telling him just to walk straight into and through the forest, which sounded like a terrible idea but at this point he was past the point of questioning it.

There he goes. Walking into the darkness of the forest cursing his brother under his breath, praying to not dirty his clothes or get lost. He should have wore something else to the party, he was at complete fault there but Domenico was still going to share it for bringing him there and giving him such stupid ideas. But then why did he agree? It was irritating him, he might have already lost his mind.

It took him a few minutes but he finally could see a light on a clearing not too far ahead. He could even hear the distant sound of a guitar and voices talking to each other. Enrico found a smaller group than he expected, he guessed that some might have gone to the lake to have fun there or simply didn’t know about the bonfire yet. Something that he was pretty much grateful for, he was going to enjoy a little peace for once.

There was a couple cuddling and whispering things to each other in a sickeningly sweet way, a guy with a guitar trying to flirt with a girl next to him and three friends that were chatting that were pretty much high. He was going to admit that there was this cozy aura lingering in the place, maybe waiting for his brother would be less difficult to endure. Maybe he was getting ahead, there was still time for him to add a new entry on the list of how much Domenico had fucked up that night.

The best spot to sit down was where he had his own space from the rest. Though, the couple was at his left but he could just ignore them, at least they weren’t being intense about their feelings, he had seen worse already early in the night. Enrico sighed in relief that no one was meaning to engage with him for once.

He sat there. Letting time fly away while looking at the fire, starting to feel drowsy out of boredom and incredibly irritated having to endure the same damn 3 chords over and over again, apparently the guy with the guitar only knew Wonderwall. Even the girl that he was with had lost his interest for a while now. At one point the couple stood up and walked away hand in hand, knowing look in their eyes, most likely going to fool around in the forest. The friends were getting more high on the floor laughing and looking at the stars while rotating a blunt that to his surprise was offered to him at one point, it was declined of course but it still was an unexpected friendly action.

It didn’t take long for the rest to be part of the blunt rotation, except him, he was just looking at them and listening to their babbling, it was more entertaining than he thought. The only complaint was that Puci wasn’t that used to the smell of weed, it was different smelling his brother's clothes stink from it than being close to its source. He really wished that it didn’t stick to him because Domenico wasn’t going to let it go easily.

It was so quiet and calm. Barely able to keep his eyes open until he heard a scream deep into the forest. No one paid attention to it. It was most likely someone at the lake or party, he wasn’t going to think too hard about it. The group on the floor laughed and joked about it, that the woods were full of ghosts and monsters.
But then there was another scream. And this was closer, toe curling of someone in genuine horror. It made everyone look at the direction where it came from and helped him to finally wake up.

“What was that?”

“So I wasn’t the only one who heard that? It sounded really scary”

“Don’t worry about it dude”

“Yeah! It must be a prank or something”

“You should calm down. This is a chilling zone”

The girl that was rightfully concerned got distracted by a tickle attack from her friend. It didn’t take long for her and the rest of the group to end up in a tangent about what would happen if they were on a horror movie .They must have been pretty much far gone or simply plainly stupid, or the third option, a mixture of both. Looking back he noticed that it was the same path he took to get there. Enrico wasn’t dumb, he wasn’t going to stay put waiting to know what caused that sound. So he stood up and slowly walked to the other direction.

There was something moving.

He continued walking slower than before, trying to focus his eyes until he finally caught a glimpse of a figure in the dark. A figure that was drawing closer to the bonfire until the light finally revealed someone wearing a dark cloak and an odd looking mask.

That was drenched in blood.

Enough of a reason for him to start running. He could hear someone calling for him, asking him where was going and what happened but it was interrupted by another scream, and then several followed that one spurring him on to speed up.

So he ran as fast as his legs allowed him on the uneven floor while the cold night air hit his face. For all the running he was doing he could as well just have walked back home and maybe his shoes would look less ruined than they did at the moment. Although it wasn’t the best time to regret what he should have done, or cursing his brother’s name for not just dropping him nearby.

The cold of the night couldn’t compare to how icy his blood felt when he heard that the stranger apparently had noticed he was on the run and was actively following him at the moment. And not just that, he was getting closer to him incredibly quick.

He was a good runner, fast and light, even agile. His only issue was that he needed to raise his stamina, he wasn’t sure how much he could endure, his legs were pushing past their limits. Effortlessly it didn’t take long for the masked person to grab him by the collar and throw him to a nearby tree. Luckily he managed to stay on his feet but he was quickly pinned against it. Knife in his throat and a large body caging him from any opportunity to escape or move in general.
That was it, he was trapped.

They were so close that he wrinkled his nose at the coppery smell of the blood on the stranger in front of him. At the same time there was this faint aroma of roses, way more pleasant than the blood, it was a combination that he wasn’t expecting but shockingly worked well together. The last thing that he would smell wasn’t that bad, how lucky of him .
Enrico saw the fresh blood in the gloves and couldn’t contain his annoyance “If I get blood stains anywhere from this I swear I-” a groan escaped from him and he looked at the expressionless mask. He narrowed his eyes, inspecting the mask for anything that would give them away. He knew that he was pushing past his luck but it seemed that the killer was toying with him for some reason, Pucci knew he could have been killed the moment they got a grip on him, but they didn’t. He wanted to know why or better yet, get away.
However, nothing happened.

They stood there. Hearing each other's breath mask to face, bloody cloak almost touching his pristine one, sharp knife against throat. He waited and waited but the only response he got was a muffled chuckle “Hello again” with that the stranger took off his mask and-

“You?!” So stunned and in disbelief he almost screamed it. The boy that he had met before. Well put together and charming was now all disheveled and with a freakish look in his eyes. Someone he finally found genuinely entertaining was most likely going to kill him more than ever now that he has seen his face. It would be hard to admit aloud to others if he survived, but at the moment he couldn’t feel anything more than pure annoyance.

“What is the meaning of this?! Making me run all this way in the dark of the night in a muddy forest with you in that ridiculous costume and a knife behind my back! Is this really funny to you? Is this some kind of stupid prank?!”

“No, but this is pretty much hysterical. That said, you know, I thought you were smarter than that, this isn’t a knife it's a dagger” Enrico couldn’t believe him, proudly showing his
weapon not even trying to explain himself.

“Whatever is called that paper cutter of yours, answer my question”

The blonde’s smile was wider than before. He bit his lower lip like he was stifling a good laugh letting on display his sharp looking canines “I haven’t found anyone like you. You should be begging for your life yet here you are all demanding, even when I am the one with the weapon here” he got the dagger closer to his neck again, but this time Enrico didn’t even blink. He was tired of all of the bullshit that had happened to him tonight, he didn’t care anymore so he just glared at those amused eyes and leaned closer to him so the knife was firm on his neck enough to be leaving a red mark but not enough to pierce his skin.

“You are a very interesting one”

“Should I be flattered?” Enrico whispered. The blonde grinned and pulled away from him. Taking off his cloak in the process and finally allowing him to catch his breath “Most would” He looked at him with a raised eyebrow. He was interesting and the guy was weird. He had natural charm, speaking like someone seemingly well educated, and at first that was his first impression. A rich well educated foreigner but now? Hunting him down the woods was something he wouldn’t have guessed at all. He hadn’t thought about it before but it was possible that he was someone who played sports by the way he catched up so effortlessly and the strength he felt when he was tugged back, and in general if he wanted to overpower someone then he needed muscle. And looking at him better he did look like someone that worked out in the regular. And now he was staring.

Looking at his side he couldn’t believe he hadn’t noticed it before, thanks to the cloak being gone he could actually appreciate that he was indeed pretty muscular. Perhaps he was a football player or maybe something else… rugby? He mentioned moving from England. Which meant…“You gave me an advantage didn’t you? How many seconds?” It hurted his pride a little but there was no way he could compete against him anyway.

“Hmm? I don’t know what you are talking about” He looked at Enrico with fake disbelief at the accusation but his sly smile betrayed him “10 seconds. 10 seconds are more than enough. Thought about making an exception but I wanted to play fair” So he was right, and not just that, he could have been killed a while ago.

“Why-” He stopped and thought very carefully about his next questions “So this isn’t a prank… Then Why are you doing this?” He should be scared. It had dawned on him that it wasn’t a prank a while ago, he couldn’t get scared even if this creepy guy looked like he felt no remorse for what he had done. And it might have sounded like something out of a cheesy horror movie but he wasn’t asking because he wished for a reason for senseless killing, he just wanted to understand why… Why the senseless killing seemed to make those amber eyes sparkle with dubious delight. Pucci was intrigued by him.

His smile only got wider “I told you that I would make this party better. We made a great job getting things more exciting”

“We? Is this your idea of a good party?” This wasn’t what he was expecting, this wasn’t what he thought he was referring to. He believed he was referring to start some new stupid foreign drinking game not a homicidal rampage.

“ You could say my friends and I have very unique tastes. And well. That is what you say now, but you haven't tried it have you? You seem like someone that would never dare, someone that might call the police and confess everything. But that’s just what you seem to be don’t you? Now tell me, Are you a snitch that will make me regret letting you live?” With each question he got closer again. Eyes locked together, trying to make Pucci answer with the truth.

“Well, I-”

“OH MY GOD! You two are alright?! I’m so glad I’m not alone! The house!- They started- appeared and-” They both looked back at the new voice, a brunette girl that looked terrified and agitated. Red faced with mascara streaming fresh in her face and whose clothes were stained with blood.

Since she was near Pucci, she tugged at his shirt with her dried bloodied hands. Grabbing him like he was going to disappear at any moment. She looked at his eyes with hers watering down when a look of realization appeared on her face “Wait, I saw you before! You went to the bonfire didn’t you?! I went there too but it was too late and there was no one alive! a-and it was just a bloody mess! Oh my god! How did you escaped? Did you run away too?? Are any of those crazy bastards still around?! We should-” before the girl could say anything else a known dagger flew right to her throat. Her face paled and her voice got lost in chocked gargles, her eye flickered between Enrico and the blonde with a mix betrayal and terror. The former one was surprised by the sudden action while the later just gave an annoyed huff while moving towards her “How noisy. It’s not polite to interrupt when someone is speaking”

Pucci moved aside looking at himself for any traces of blood, he sighed in relief when he found nothing and watched how the boy was kneeling next to the girl retrieving his weapon from her throat and giving her a quick stab on her chest. He cleaned the blood of his dagger on her clothes and stood up “Are your clothes alright? Any bloodstains? I wouldn’t wish to anger you again. If you want I can recommend a trick or two on how to clean it” He went back to Pucci, inspecting him, making sure that he was clean. It took him completely aback but he wouldn’t allow it to show on his face.

“It seems that your “friends” forgot about someone, and you were worried about me” it ended up sounding more teasing than he intended, it made the blonde stop in his tracks and look him in the eyes, it appeared he successfully caught him off guard. Enrico just crossed his arms and put on a more serious tone “And to answer both of your questions no. Lucky for you, I’m still somewhat presentable and for the rest you see…This is none of my business, I will be losing if I said anything either way. What do I get by doing so, stop you? Nothing guarantees me that you will end up in prison or that none of those who are on the house right now will haunt me down when you are gone”

His answer was a laugh, it wasn’t a mocking laugh like he heard back on the bonfire it was of a hearty kind. He liked the sound of it. “Smart” the blonde smiled and chuckled while moving away “It appears that they need me there then” He put on his cloak and mask, ready to leave before looking back one last time “I’m Dio. It was a pleasure to meet you” and with that he ventured deeper into the woods, going back towards the house. Leaving Pucci standing there next to the corpse of the girl.

So his name was Dio…

How fitting.

He looked at the corpse and decided to go back to the bonfire.

He stayed there. Wasn’t sure how much time had passed, he only knew that the fire was starting to die down. He was sitting hugging his legs, looking at the flames flickering while deep in thought, ignoring the gory bodies at his side when he heard a familiar voice screaming not far away. He was in his own world and didn’t pay much attention, seeming to be hypnotized by the flames. At least that’s how Domenico found him.

“ENRICO?! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?? NO NEW HOLES?! ARE YOU TRAUMATIZED OR SOMETHING?!” Domenico ran to his side in an instant, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him like he was some rag doll “I’m fine you don’t have to scream” he came back to earth, face becoming a perfect balance between a blank expression and annoyance. To Domenico that was a good sign.

“Did you finally drop the accent for me?” mocking him with a half smile on his face that made Domenico stop.

Then silence.

Domenico scoffed “Shut yer mouth. And here I was kinda worried about you and yer smart mouth but turns out ya fine. You lookin’ fine” He sounded more annoyed than worried yet having spent so much time at his side Enrico could hear that there was relief and at the same time sparks of fear in his tone, anxious about getting in trouble or was it for him? he deserved both.

And so they went through the woods back to the house. Even on the outside it looked pretty much like a massacre, he couldn’t imagine the inside of the house. Enrico looked at his brother who tried to ignore the corpses. Frowning and only looking forward until they got to the street where his brother got the keys out of a beautiful red car that he couldn’t remember was his but it wasn’t time for asking questions so he had to bring that later, like he knew his twin would bring what happened in the woods before he arrived.
On their way home Domenico was concentrating on the road and getting as fast as possible to their home without running over anyone in the process. Leaving them both in complete silence. Though, Enrico did catch him taking a few quick glances at him. It didn’t matter what bullshit excuse his brother gave him, he knew he was worried about him but he was also too prideful to admit it.

Enrico had his own turmoil at the moment too. Apparently one whose name was Dio.

How could he believe someone like him would join him in his carnages? Even if the blonde had called it fun he couldn’t yet see the appeal of it. Which was something good but the fact that he was trying to understand them didn’t feel right. Maybe if he didn’t see two completely different versions of him he would be less intrigued by him.
He wanted to know more about him, yes, that was it.

Pucci didn’t want to be part of senseless killing but to understand more about the one committing them and even if he tried to rationalize it, it didn’t sound like he was in the right state of mind. If they could only meet once again. Perhaps they could have been friends if Dio didn’t turn out to be a killer and all mysteriously disappear in the dead of the night.

Did he want to get closer to a murderer?

Maybe he was.
