Phainon is just a regular office worker. Sure, the CEO's son, Mydei, hates him and only him, but he has gotten used to simply ignoring all the glares that the other man gives him. But when Phainon gets drunk during a company dinner, he learns that Mydei was the one who took him home.
And for some reason, Mydei refuses to disclose any details of this night that Phainon could not recall. But Phainon wasn't going to back down without a fight.

Mydeimos makes a small noise, a mix between a trill and a growl. Impatient bastard. He doesn’t dare show his face for a week straight, but the moment his meal time is delayed ever so slightly he races over in an instant. Alright, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. The situation is a little annoying though, a fact he comes to realise as his shock slowly subsides. Phainon adjusts his grip on the bucket, shifting to the handle as he makes to toss the fish like usual. The merman repeats that strange little noise.
“It’s okay, I’m getting it now,” Phainon states, not quite understanding the source of the merman’s disapproval, “Just give me a second.”
He is not, in fact, given a second.

After the previous caretaker resigns, marine biologist Phainon is tasked with caring for Amphoreus Aquarium’s merfolk exhibit. The merfolk in question, Mydei and Tribbie, are less than cooperative. But as their time together grows, so too do their bonds.

He already expects the teasing that'll come, how he'll make fun of him and let him feeling embarrassed with all the assumptions people are making about him that he isn't in place to contest. But then, Sampo leans in his personal space, keeping eye contact in the same way a killer keeps a knife to one's throat: leaves him breathless. He whispers, so close that he touches that mask's lips, right where Gepard's would be, "But, I was hoping to at least hear you say my name tonight." He leans back — to which Gepard almost follows, as humiliating as that would be — and takes another sip, not being discreet about how he eyes him down.
Oh. Oh. That's when it hits him, and he can barely process the thought— Sampo is flirting with him.
or gepard needs to go undercover to find out more about the followers of elation. however, he didn’t expect to find a certain… cunning bastard along the masked fools.
