Wally never expected to come back to Happy Harbor. Not after his near drowning in the sea caves by his childhood home — which inevitably led to his parents’ divorce. But here he was twelve years later, fresh out of grad -school and moving back into his late father’s old house.
A summer spent in the sleepy town he grew up in on the Rhode Island coast should have been idyllic. A quiet three months working in his uncle’s aquarium as he figured out what the hell he wanted to do with his life. But, it turns out, finding a siren tangled in a fishing net at the bottom of the bay would only be the beginning of his troubles.
What happened to the poor Nereid who now haunted Wally’s thoughts? Why couldn’t he shake the feeling that their fates were more tangled than the net he’d cut away from its beautiful tail? And who was the so-called expert called in by the counties Game-Warden to investigate the new predator making waves in the Rhode Island Sound?
The further Wally dug, the deeper the mystery took him — and someone had swim to the bottom of it.
Good thing Wally has his diving license.

After the events of Good Things Come.Astarion and Tav have solidified their roles in the Underdark with the other Spawn, as well as in Faerun. They realize there is still much more they can do to stop another Vampire lord, and help another of their Companions in the process.

Except Tav beat Astarion there and reached him first, and a wet SMACK sounded as Astarion's chest collided with her shoulder blades where she stood solidly between them.
For a moment, Astarion only saw red.
For a moment, Astarion heard nothing but the roaring, rushing sounds in his adept ears - that of the rolling sea, and Tav's blood catapulting through her arteries with her own anger.
Astarion's eyes focused and traced her form and up her extended arm, his lip twitching with the beginning of a snarl at the action that had been denied him, but the scent of Gale's blood hit his nose then. The odor was strong despite the pervading smell of salt in the surf that lapped along the shore at their feet.

The beach doesn't need to change, the boardwalk doesn't need to change, and the town doesn't need to change in order to have some fun!But wouldn't it be more fun if things did change, even just a little?
Could the weird eel-woman-thing he stumbled across on the beach while he was drunk one night give him a little more life and festivity to his repetitive days? And would she be willing to accept his sharing of some of his sushi?

Summary

The soft humming of a lullaby prevents him from pondering. Like the coming of a shark waiting to feast, the same voice reverberates under the water, soft and soothing like a music box, but deep and pulling like an anchor in the depths, as Phainon fights the urge to sleep. But what little can he hang on to when there is no point at all? A siren song works exactly like this: it relieves you of all conviction, and thus the listener turns into nothing more than an inebriated husk, only wishing to enact according to their innermost desires regardless of any consequence. Phainon slips in and out of that hazy state while he listens still, unable to muster any desire not to want to hear more—and, really, he would never want to.
phainon is the twin brother of the king who is sent away to die at sea. mydeimos is the siren who saved him, who sings to lure his victims and kisses them like death's final embrace. this is a story of what it means to love the sea in all of its beauty, and all of its terror.

Mydeimos makes a small noise, a mix between a trill and a growl. Impatient bastard. He doesn’t dare show his face for a week straight, but the moment his meal time is delayed ever so slightly he races over in an instant. Alright, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration. The situation is a little annoying though, a fact he comes to realise as his shock slowly subsides. Phainon adjusts his grip on the bucket, shifting to the handle as he makes to toss the fish like usual. The merman repeats that strange little noise.
“It’s okay, I’m getting it now,” Phainon states, not quite understanding the source of the merman’s disapproval, “Just give me a second.”
He is not, in fact, given a second.

After the previous caretaker resigns, marine biologist Phainon is tasked with caring for Amphoreus Aquarium’s merfolk exhibit. The merfolk in question, Mydei and Tribbie, are less than cooperative. But as their time together grows, so too do their bonds.
