He doesn't know what to do with the horror they show when he makes offhand comments about the most normal things. It makes him feel simultaneously annoyed and shaken, the way they all see the world so differently from him. The way they trade favorite foods like it's nothing. Like it's allowed. Jean can't remember the last time he had a favorite anything before coming to California.

He hadn't mentioned it to anyone yet, and he wasn't convinced that they would understand what he meant without a lengthy explanation. Perhaps it would be better not to bring it up at all... Well, that would remain to be seen. In any case, it was definitely a bombshell he would have to work towards, otherwise his friends might not be interested in the more mundane aspects of Laios' life. “One of my classes was cancelled, so the two of us went to grab a coffee. It was a pleasant time,” he said softly, “and I got his contact information out of it, as a bonus. Afterwards, I invited him out for a drink over the weekend, and then he invited me over to his house. I went there the next day, that is, last Sunday.”
