“Why am I- “ Zanka started. He then remembered he was raised with a modicum of manners and swallowed before continuing. “What does it look like I'm using them for?”

The night air was a relief — cool, quiet, carrying the faint scent of grass. Away from the chaos inside, Minho could breathe again. His sneakers crunched softly against the familiar path leading to the backyard. And there, silhouetted against the porch light, was the old tree house.
He smiled.
Of course.
Jisung would be waiting.
The tree house had been theirs since they were kids. Built by Minho’s dad, but claimed by Minho and Jisung the second they were tall enough to climb into it. Over the years, it had become their sanctuary — a place for secrets, for laughter, for late-night talks about things they’d never say in the daylight.
The wooden ladder creaked under Minho’s weight as he climbed, his bag slung over one shoulder. The balcony railing came into view, and sure enough, there he was.
