He acts like he hides well the need to get shit faced to forget for even a passing second that he is less than he let's others see, that he isn't the envied star others took him.
Shouto feels like he is pretending to know how to swim, but is in reality drowning while others swim past him. He keeps the polite smile, the mask, the emptiness as a worthless float on the ocean he feels like drifting towards the rocky shoal while others gather together to find the shore.
They are lost, other deeper than he let's out, but then there is a sudden confluence in a dorm bathroom that starts to shine like a beacon in the pitch black darkness.
