After the Merge, multiple merge-quakes in different sizes come to cause chaos on what it had already left. the world is stitched from fragments that were never meant to touch. For Lloyd, the legendary green ninja of ninjago, it means waking in a land of blackpowder and marching boots, far from Ninjago and the ones he swore to protect. For Karl, officer of the Garde zu Fuß regiment, it means guarding a stranger who seems more dream than soldier.
The blight spreads, the regiment marches, and promises must be made. Yet in the quiet between duty and dawn, something else begins—slow, careful, impossible. Like tea steeping in the cold of war, trust, and perhaps even a deeper form of affection, take root.Author's note: This is literally the first fanfiction I've ever wrote in years.
