Work Text:
Kim never thought that there would come a time where, at every waking moment of every day, all he could think about was Porschay. Everything reminded him of his younger boyfriend: from the soft chimes of the bells that indicated the opening of a door to the patterns of plaid that decorated the mannequins at the window displays of boutiques, the fluffy white clouds in the sky, the strong scent of vanilla syrup that wafted through the streets where all the cafes were. Kim realised that it probably wasn’t so healthy to have one person at the centre of all his thoughts, but he couldn’t help it and honestly, he couldn’t care less to change it. He loved Porschay, and he was going to embrace it now that he was smart enough to accept his feelings for him.
Now, it was his favourite part of the day: time to pick up Chay from his long day of classes. Kim himself was exhausted from his back-to-back meetings. Since he had been in his last year and Chay in his first, they barely got to see each other during the school days. Kim had been busy with his internship, like most fourth-year students, and on the days when he wasn’t interning, he was at the studio working on his music. Thankfully, he interned at a label, which was the sister company of his label, so that at least made his life just a little bit easier.
After he parked his car in the lot, he pulled out his phone from the middle compartment of his car. He had kept in mind how Chay didn’t like that he often had his phone in hand when driving. He sent a quick text to his boyfriend, letting him know that he was outside. Putting his phone on his lap, Kim looked up through the window to find Chay and frowned when five minutes had passed and he still hadn’t come out of the building. It was odd because usually the younger man was already waiting for him, waving both of his hands with a wide grin on his face.
Pressing his lips together, he blew a frustrated raspberry before getting out of his car and heading into the School of Music. He pulled up a picture of Chay’s semester schedule on his phone and walked to where his classroom was, hoping to find him there. And he did.
He heard Chay before he saw him, and felt his lips curve into a small smile that couldn’t be stopped when he was around his boyfriend. All he wanted to do was bask in it, but he wanted to see him just a little bit more . He walked closer to the doorway of the hall, entering the lobby of the floor, where he saw Chay with a group of other students. The younger man was excitedly bouncing in place, tilting his body side to side with his hands moving around animatedly. Kim could only see his side so he wasn’t able to see his full face, but he knew that he was smiling.
As he got closer, Kim got a better look at the three guys in front of Chay; the first two were looking at him fondly. However, the third student looked at Chay with a type of fondness that made Kim’s stomach churn. He gripped his fingers around his phone, seeing him reach out to grasp Chay’s shoulder whilst the other man laughed obliviously. Kim shook his head at the idiotic thought that passed through his head. They could just be friends, and Kim had no right to tell Chay who he can and cannot hang out with. He could do whatever he wanted, and Kim would do anything to make it happen. Whatever Chay wanted, he got, and Kim wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Chay!” he called out, feeling annoyed with his mind from taking time away with his boyfriend. That feeling went away completely the second his eyes contacted Chay’s and seeing how the other man’s eyes lit up. He squealed before running to him and latching himself onto Kim’s open arms. The second his body touched his, Kim tightened his arms around Chay’s and pressed him closer to him as he nestled his head into Chay’s shoulder whilst the other did the same. Chay let out happy noises before he pulled back and smiled at Kim. “Hi P’Kim, what are you doing here?” he asked, scrunching his nose cutely. Kim got lost in his adorably confused expression, with his lips puffed forward and the skin between his brows furrowed.
He shook his head to knock himself out of it; the sooner he got Chay home, the more time he could spend with him. “I always pick you up, remember? Or did your exams turn your brain into mush?” He playfully poked Chay’s forehead causing him to giggle and place his head right back onto Kim’s chest. In doing so, Chay’s eyes met his friends and his cheeks immediately flushed and he turned his face away with a pitiful whine. Both Kim and Chay weren’t very big on PDA, the most they ever did was hug and hold hands, well that was on Chay’s part. Kim, on the other hand, was never afraid to plant kisses on Chay’s face or hands, but never on his lips since that’s where Chay drew the line. “I texted you that I was here.”
Chay frowned in confusion, his hand reaching out to pull out his phone and dropping his lips into a circular ‘o’ when he read his message. His full lips turned down and looked up. “I’m sorry P’Kim, I was talking to my friends and I got distracted,” he said apologetically.
Kim only softly smiled at him; he couldn’t be upset at Chay even if he tried. His boyfriend held that power over him. “It’s alright angel,” he murmured before pressing his lips to Chay’s forehead for a moment. “Let me take you home?”
At Chay’s nod, he released his left arm on him and turned them both so that Chay could face his friends to properly say goodbye, having a proper hold on his waist with his right hand. He watched his boyfriend light up as he waved brightly at them. “Bye Ohm, bye Mine, and bye P’Sun, it was nice meeting you! I’m going to be on tonight so maybe I’ll see you!” He grinned and bounced excitedly and Kim’s eyes went to the man Chay was speaking to, the one who was looking at him with a familiar light in his eyes. Kim felt that uncomfortable churn in his stomach resurface hearing Chay’s words.
What was he doing tonight that he might see this Sun ?
With one last wave, Chay latched himself to Kim as the older man led them out of the building and into the car. Once they were in the privacy of the vehicle, Kim found himself pulled into Chay’s tight embrace with the younger man nuzzling his face into his neck, all the while releasing happy high-pitched noises through his nose. “Mmm,” he mumbled, his breath hot on Kim’s skin making goosebumps erupt all over. “I missed you P’Kim.”
Kim looked down to see Chay’s face smushed against his shoulder and smiled seeing his soft pout. “Are you sure angel, you seemed to be having fun with your friends,” he asked with the corner of his lip pulling up into a teasing smirk. This caused Chay to roll his eyes, making the older man laugh softly.
Once they pulled away with a quick peck, Kim started the car into drive and drove Chay home, with the younger man rambling on about his day. That’s how usually the drive home from university went, and Kim would not have it any other way . He absolutely adored Chay’s voice whether he was singing or talking or even when he was sick with a cold, even when the younger refused to see him the first he was sick in their relationship. Kim was head over heels, and he was okay with that.
He turned on his right signal to swerve lanes whilst Chay spoke about meeting his friends after his class and how he got too caught up in their conversation about the most recent game that came out.
“Then that’s when P’Sun came, he’s one of Mine’s friends. I think they have, like, a maths class together or something, and apparently he’s undefeated. Well, anyway, that’s what he said, so I said that ‘I need to see this for myself’. P’Sun said that he would be on tonight and invited me to play with him. I’m excited!”
Hearing how excited his boyfriend was, Kim tightened his grip on the wheel but didn’t do anything irrational. He thought of himself as a reckless driver but when he was with someone who he cared so much about, he wasn’t going to bring danger to Chay. With the life he has, he needs Chay, of all people, to be okay.
This is stupid, Kim chastised himself, you’re stupid for being jealous over some kid Chay just met.
He made himself remember the way Chay looked at him, the way he held him close, the way he always tried to reach to himself whenever they were together. Chay never wanted to be apart from Kim, and not in an overly clingy or possessive way. Kim reminded himself that Chay loved him, had loved him for a long time, even though a part of that time was when the younger knew Kim as Wik.
Kim always felt that he needed Chay but he knew that Chay didn’t really need him. And he knew that his fears would surface the day that Chay, himself, realised that as well. And he couldn’t do anything to stop it when that day came, because what Chay wanted, he got, because Kim would do anything for him.
But right now, Chay loved Kim. Anyone, even himself, could see it, and he needed to hold onto that statement with a tight grip so he wouldn’t allow himself to feel that emotional churn that made him want to rip his heart out.
Kim was able to calm himself once he pulled up next to Chay’s house. The younger man pulled his right arm though the strap of his backpack as he placed it onto his lap. He turned over to Kim with the largest smile on his face, happy breaths releasing through his parted lips and the light touch of pink coming up his neck. “P’Kim, do you want to come inside?”
The question hit Kim as fast as the speed of a train. They have been only together officially for two months, and Kim has come over a few times since then but would leave once evening came around. Chay had only gone to Kim’s once and had also left before nightfall. Today was a Friday, and normally they never really went over to each other’s places on that day because Friday meant the day before the weekend, which meant that you might as well stay over , and they weren’t there yet. Kim wanted to go as slowly as possible, he wanted to do this right . He believed that Chay deserved it, and a small part of him believed that he deserved this too.
But if Chay wanted him to come hang out for a few hours, even if the sun was going to set soon, who was he to deny him? Especially when he wanted to go in as well.
“Yes of course, angel,” Kim replied and smiled when he was rewarded with Chay’s even larger grin, dimples and all. He was such a sucker for Chay’s dimply grin.
And it was all his.
They walked hand-in-hand to the gate, and Chay giggled as he struggled to unlock the gate with Kim attached to his back nuzzling his nose into his hair. Finally, the gate unlocked, allowing them into the property and, and soon they were inside the house.
Chay found himself in his room, where he was finishing up one of his assignments. It was due at a later date but it didn’t hurt to be on top of his classes. And being prepared early meant doing well in his classes and getting more time to spend with his family, and Kim. His boyfriend was downstairs, preparing dinner for them.
When [AP4] he finished, he leaned back on his chair with a happy sigh. Now that he was done with all of his assignments, his heart lurched at the thought of spending time with Kim. They’ve been together for two months yet Chay felt like they just got together with how he was acting. He smiled dopily at the thought of Kim but snapped to attention when his desktop alerted him with a notification. Chay eyed the notification and saw that it was from Discord. A user named sunnysideup messaged him.
sunnysideup
Hey Chay, it’s Sun!
Chay smiled wide and messaged him back.
wiks_left_boob
Hi P’Sun!
sunnysideup
I’ve got to say, I was not expecting that username lol
Chay couldn’t help but laugh at the message. He had the name when he was a new Wik fanboy (like that changed), but he had become too attached to it to change it. Also, he loved the annoyed look on Kim’s face whenever he saw it.
They continued to message each other, which was more small talk than anything significant. Chay felt like he was making a new friend, and he liked that since he only had two friends.
“Chay?”
He swivelled around in his chair to see Kim leaning halfway into the room behind the door. His boyfriend smiled at him softly and asked, “are you doing your homework?"
“Nope, I just finished actually!” He giggled when Kim took that as full permission to come into the room. And he leaned over Chay and pursed his lips together dramatically along with smooching noise until Chay leaned forward to give him a kiss.
Letting out a sweet sigh, Chay carded his hands through Kim’s soft and silky hair, bringing him closer. Kim tilted his head to press their lips with more force and caressed Chay’s top lip with his tongue before softly nipping it. The younger man gasped in surprise and pulled away, Kim following his movement with a heavily lidded gaze. Chay looked so beautiful with his flushed cheeks and swollen lips, he was itching for more. Kim’s boyfriend was leaning back against his desk chair and his chest was rapidly moving. His eyes zeroed in on those red, plush lips and he could help himself to get closer, just wanting to groan at the feeling of Chay’s warm breath so close just as he was about to-
Ding!
Kim didn’t know that he was ever capable of feeling the need to smash a piece of technology until this very moment.
With annoyance, Kim lifted his head to the desktop and his eyebrows rose when he saw the large chat displayed on the screen.
Chay followed Kim’s line of sight and jumped slightly when he understood that the notification came from Sun.
“Oh!” Chay quickly spun his chair around, but before he did that he wrapped his arms around Kim’s legs, pulling him closer with each hand gripping the back of his thighs. Kim had his forearms rested on the arms of the chair, so his face was directly in front of Chay’s with his upper body bent forward. “Don’t go,” Chay whispered. He wasn’t ready for this moment to end.
Kim only smirked and with lightning speed, he lifted Chay off the chair and instead sat down with him on his lap. The younger man squeaked and hit his chest lightly, making Kim smile and kiss him on the head. “Let me respond to P’Sun really quick.” Chay snuggled up to him as he quickly responded back to Sun.
Kim watched as Sun replied immediately after with an agitated feeling in his chest but he calmed himself by wrapping his arms securely around Chay’s waist. He looked up, dropping his chin on Chay’s shoulder when he heard a happy gasp. Chay wiggled happily in his lap and Kim was curious to see what had gotten him so excited.

Do you want to play tonight?
Chay turned to glance at the clock on the desk, Kim following his movements, to see that it was nearing six in the evening. He should be leaving soon, he thought dreadfully. He wanted to stay like this forever.
Kim watched as Chay typed out that he would indeed join Sun around later that night, and he was so excited to do so.
To distract himself, Kim pressed his nose into Chay’s neck and breathed in deeply, making Chay squeak in surprise. Once he recovered, he tilted his neck to give more access for Kim, who started pressing gentle kisses on his soft skin.
Inhaling the sweet scent of vanilla and sandalwood, Kim felt like he could never get enough of Chay’s smell. Every single time he got a whiff of just Chay, it felt like a new experience each and every time. And he couldn’t believe that he got the privilege to be consumed by him.
It’s fine , he told himself once he stopped kissing his skin but still kept his arms around Chay’s waist. Chay was simply making a new friend, and there was nothing wrong with that. As long as he got to hold Chay like this, at the end of the day, everything was going to be fine.
---
It was not fine.
Ever since Sun invited Chay to play with him, he would not stop. Soon more often than not this annoying second year seemed to always be around his boyfriend.
Whenever Kim would pull up to whatever building Chay had class in, his boyfriend would be found on the steps waiting for him with Sun sitting right next to him. After school, Kim would drop Chay off at home and join him. When it was time for him to leave, Chay would bid him goodbye with a loud smooch and his phone would buzz with a call. He would have to cup Chay’s soft cheeks in his hands and press their lips together to fight the urge to his phone across the room.
Wherever Chay was, Sun was not far off.
Again, it was not like he wasn’t Chay having friends. Like Sun, Mine and Ohm were always with Chay, but Kim didn’t see the two of them looking at Chay the way Sun looked at him.
No, he looked at Chay as if he hung the moon himself. Whenever Chay spoke, he looked as if he was holding onto every word that was coming out of his mouth. Sun looked at Chay like he wanted him. He looked at Chay the same way Kim looked at him.
Like right now, for example.
Kim smiled when his eyes landed on Chay, who was sitting at one of the lunch tables and talking animatedly with his friends. The light tingle in his stomach turned into a full swarm of butterflies when the light caught onto the whites of Chay’s pearly smile just right .
Wow, his boyfriend was gorgeous.
He shook his head. As much as he wanted to run to a quiet classroom and write a detailed song about his love for Chay and his beautiful smiles and delicious pink lips, he wanted to sit beside him and hear his sweet giggles when he fed him just a little bit more .
So, he cleared his throat and walked to where Chay was sitting only to freeze when he realised who he was sitting with. Or specifically, the one person Kim didn’t want to see near his boyfriend. As Chay was going on with whatever made his eyes light up, all Kim could focus on was Sun and his stupid wide grin as he was staring at the freshman across from him. Kim could see the obvious heart-eyes that were fixated on Chay and the slight tremor in his right hand that itched to reach out to grab onto the waving hand and hold onto it.
How he desired to break every bone in his hand.
“P’Kim!” Chay gasped happily, turning his full body to face his boyfriend with a bounce. He squealed with his arms wide open when Kim sat down next to him. The older man put his bag down on the ground with a small tug of his lips and pulled Chay into his arms. He had missed Kim so much (it had been a whole seventeen hours since he had last seen him) that he didn’t try to pull away from Kim when the older man peppered kisses all over his face. Instead, he accepted them with smitten giggles. “I missed you P’Kim, how was your morning?” he asked when they pulled away.
One handedly, Kim opened the plastic container which held the sushi he bought for him and Chay to share for lunch whilst he kept a hold on Chay’s smaller hand with the other. He couldn’t help the grin from escaping at the sight of Chay’s cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk before answering. “I missed you too, angel,” he leaned forward to press his lips onto his hair. “My morning was good, better now that I got to see you.” He winked, causing Chay to sport two pink spots on his cheeks. His friends ooh-ed, causing the blush to deepen.
“So P’Kim, Chay was telling us about your internship at La Lanvin Thailand . Is it really as difficult as the other seniors make it out to be?” Chay’s friend, Mine, asked. His questions caused the other two to train their eyes on him, and he and Ohm looked at him with wide eyes, as if he was going to tell them the juiciest gossip about another famous artist.
With the three younger students in front of him, they were the smallest audience Kim ever had, yet he didn’t feel like the normal sensation they were looking at him to be. Normally, Kim would curl his upper lip in a sultry smirk and lower his lids to attract all of their attention before going into a long explanation of his experience working as an intern. He would go over the trials, how he overcame them, and give any advice if asked. That was Wik, someone who had a lingering quality about him that put him in a different league than the other famous singers his age. Wik, who could lure everyone and anyone with one of his quiet smiles and intense gaze.
However, at this moment, he wasn’t only Wik; no, he was P’Kim, their friend’s boyfriend. A simple wink or an angelic smile wasn’t going to sway them from their opinions of him. A simple tug in his chest flared when he put his chopstick in the take-out container to give all of his attention to Mine. When they made eye contact, the tugging turned into a heavy weight right on his middle abdomen. The pressure made his heart race, and suddenly he felt the desperate need to flee.
He felt the sudden need for Chay’s friends to like him. It shouldn’t have been hard with the way that the two of them were staring up at him with admiration. However, the third man who was sitting all the way on the left, directly across from Chay, was not looking at him the same way his friends were. No, he was looking at Kim like he was not impressed with him.
And normally, that wouldn’t have bothered him, not at all. Afterall, Kim didn’t care about those who didn’t like him, but he was Chay’s friend. Honestly, he could care less for his approval considering that Sun wanted to jump in Chay’s bones, but he was also friends of Mine and Ohm, and friends talk.
Not only did he want Chay’s friends to like him, but he also wanted it to be a massive screw you to Sun.
So, Kim brought his and Chay’s joint hands to his lips before smiling back at his friends. He was honest about his experience as an intern, acknowledging the fact that since he was already a singer, no one really gave him a hard time. By the time that he was done, Mine and Ohm were looking at him with heart eyes, well platonic heart eyes. He glanced at Chay who was watching him with the biggest smile on his face. Kim matched him when he leaned forward and planted a kiss on his cheek.
---
Kim should have known that at one point his patience was going to boil over.
He really couldn’t help it either, because he should have known that it would have taken one more time of him witnessing Sun trying to flirt with his boyfriend to lose it.
It started with Chay telling him that he was going to be studying with his friends at a café near their university. Chay being the literal angel that he was, told Kim everything that he needed to know including the exact address of the café and from which times they were going to be studying. “I’m going to have my phone on flight mode, P’Kim, so don’t get worried if I don’t get your call, okay?”
To be honest, Kim was staring at Chay’s pushed out lips from the way cupping his cheeks with his hands. Alas, he nodded and pecked his boyfriend’s accentuated lips before letting him go to his first class of the day.
To make everything worse, Kim was actually in a good mood this morning, which was rare when his good mood came from anything other than Chay.
When he closed the car door after himself, swung his keys around his ringed fingers on his way to the café. The familiar routine of his heart rate increasing and the rush of happiness spreading through his body froze into an ice-cold numbness at the sight of Sun pressing his whole body into Chay.
The older man sat at the left end of the table with Chay sitting next to him. From where Kim was standing, he could see Mine, Ohm and the other students quietly typing on their laptops or writing their notes. Sun, on the other hand, was resting his right arm across the back of Chay’s chair. You would think that he was trying to merge themselves together with the way he was latching himself onto Chay. What was he even doing there? He was an engineering student. Shouldn’t he be hating his life and questioning his major or doing something more productive?
Kim didn’t even realise he was tightening his fist around his keys until a sharp pain shot up his arm. Biting his lip to cover up the glare he was burning through the glass window, he opened the door and grabbed an empty chair from a table, not caring that someone was already occupying said table. He ignored the offended look that the male customer gave him as he plopped right next to the empty spot by Chay.
His boyfriend’s head movement stuttered when he felt a presence so close to him but his confusion transformed into a look of absolute joy when he realised that it was Kim. The dark cloud that was positioned right above him grew even stormier, and he couldn’t even be bothered to smile back at him.
Chay’s smile dimmed once confusion set in. He furrowed his eyebrows as he tilted his head. “P’Kim, I am almost done.” He turned towards his bright screen with his lips pushed out a bit, and Kim couldn’t believe that there had come a time where the sight of an adorably confused Chay couldn’t pull him out of a dampening mood. “I have three more practice questions, and we can go, okay?” Kim could feel his large brown eyes staring at him, but he kept his own eyes trained on his phone whilst he nodded. He missed the pout that he received from Chay before his younger boyfriend went back to his assignment.
“Do you want something to eat?” Sun asked, and Kim looked to see if he was addressing the table but of course not, why would he do that when he could just talk to Chay? . Chay being Chay, only shook his head whilst being so engrossed in his work. Kim felt a tug of triumph at the rejection that Chay gave, knowing that he would only accept things from Kim.
But of course, Sun is a freaking idiot who doesn’t have basic common sense and got Chay a yoghurt parfait anyway. And Chay, being the delightfully oblivious baby he is, didn’t understand the intentions behind the small gift. “Thank you P’Sun.”
Is he trying to court my boyfriend, like is this the 1800s or something? I’m going to kill him.
He tried to keep common decency by committing murder in plan daylight by going through his phone one-handed, and Kim turned his head to glance at Chay to see how close he was to finishing. His boyfriend pulled the spoon from his mouth and grinned at Kim before taking another spoonful and feeding it to Kim. Now, the older man did not have the energy to entertain Chay like he usually did just to see his smile. There was something about Sun watching Chay feed his boyfriend the dessert that he got for him that made it even more delicious.
Once he was finished with his small snack, Chay’s eyes were focused on the laptop screen, with the centre of his forehead littered with tiny wrinkles. His lips were pushed into an unconscious pout and his eyes were wider as he tried to figure out the problems, and Kim could feel the tiny (teeny tiny) amount of warmth seeping through the cold darkness brewing within him. He itched to put pressure on Chay’s plump bottom lip.
Moving his eyes to look at the person behind Chay, the walls of ice grew tenfold when he realised that Sun wanted to do the same too.
“Let’s go,” he spoke. His hard voice was equivalent to a loud clap in the silent café. Not only their table but others around them looked in their direction but Kim paid them no mind. His eyes were on Chay who looked at him confused. “Let’s go, Porschay,” he said, the end of his sentence curling into the start of a growl, before grabbing his bag to lift it over his right shoulder and the notebook that was laid beside Chay’s laptop.
Kim had the decency to make sure that Chay saved his assignments before grabbing his wrist and dragging him out of the café. Once they got to the parked Ferrari, he let go. “P’Kim, are you ok-”
“Get in the car,” Kim interrupted him gruffly, before moving onto his side of the car. This caused Chay to feel startled; it reminded him of the time when he first met Kim when the older man constantly dismissed him when he spoke.
The drive was silent, and Chay felt anxiety building up more and more the longer they remained silent. He really missed the background music of whatever playlist he selected from Kim’s phone and the firm yet soft grip that engulfed his hand on their drives.
When they reached his house, all Kim did was unlock the doors but didn’t even bother to get out and open the door for him along with unbuckling his seatbelt. Their domestic bliss felt like it was longer than two months that Chay didn’t realise that he wasn’t used to the old Kim, and he didn’t know how to handle him. His notebooks and laptop along with his water bottle were still stacked on his lap and beside him, and his backpack was the floor in between his legs. He didn’t want to ask for help and trouble Kim more, so he tried his best to gather all of his belongings one handed as fast as he could before unbuckling his seatbelt.
Clearly he took longer than he thought he did, because Kim snapped at him, “aren’t you going to get out?”
The feeling of being dismissed and ignored for no reason made Chay’s bottom lip quiver and nose burn.
Once the burning from his nostrils reached his eyes, he knew what was coming.
Kim heard the sniffles before the waterworks started, and when he turned to see the twitch of Chay’s red button nose and the spread of pink running throughout his face, just as the first tear fell, he knew that he had just made the biggest mistake of his life.
Seeing Chay cry was on his top five list of things he hates, listed at number three right in between his dislike for cottage cheese (because why should that even be an option) and angry Chay (although maybe he should rethink that because he thinks angry Chay is adorable).
At once, he realised that him being jealous over Sun flirting with Chay had nothing to do with Chay, and there wasn’t a valid reason for him to take his anger out on Chay. Kim knew how Chay was and that he was oblivious when people were into him, and yes, it can be annoying at times, because he just thought people were being nice to him when Kim knew better. Yes, it could be annoying and even though there were times where he wanted to gather Chay into his arms and (affectionately) shake him until he understood those intentions, Kim knew that it wasn’t Chay’s fault. Kim’s jealousy had nothing to do with him and everything to do with his own insecurities, and that had led him to take it out on Chay.
Who was now crying in his seat trying to leave.
With sudden speed, Kim unbuckled his own seatbelt and rushed to Chay’s side, opening the door and reaching inside to take his books and laptop before unbuckling his seatbelt. Of course, Chay did not appreciate the sudden switch up of actions and pushed Kim out of his way as he got out of the car with all of his belongings in tow.
Kim, being related to Kinn and Vegas and clearly not understanding that his partner wanted personal space after he messed up, surrounded Chay by pushing him onto the car. He desperately tried to make eye contact with Chay by constantly moving his face, but Chay was turning his face just as fast so he wouldn’t meet his eyes.
“Chay please,” he pleaded, cupping those fluffy cheeks in his hands so that Chay could stop moving and look at him.
“P’Kim let go of me!” he yelled before letting his arms fall at sides, causing his items to fall on the ground. Fortunately, his laptop was already packed so only his notebooks fell on the ground. Once his arms were free, Chay pushed Kim away from me. “You’re not making any sense, one second you’re telling me to leave and now you’re not letting me leave!”
“Porschay I’m sorry,” Kim finally said. He looked deeply into Chay’s eyes to let the younger man know that he was serious, and also with the use of his full name. “I’m so sorry for snapping at you.”
Chay only huffed and pouted, making Kim lower his eyes for a quick second before he realised that this was a serious situation. “It wasn’t just right now, P’Kim, you have been mean to me ever since you came to pick me up, and you know it.”
Kim’s heart dropped. He knew that he could be mean, but he never wanted to hear that he was mean to Chay of all people. He would rather cut off his own arm.
“Angel, I’m sorry.” He wanted to press a kiss on Chay’s forehead but he knew that probably wouldn’t be wanted, so he continued. “I just didn’t like that you were spending so much time with Sun, and I know that I don’t have a right to tell you who can and can’t be friends with,” he continued so that Chay wouldn’t get the wrong idea behind his words. “But I didn’t like him being around you, because I know that he likes you.”
Cue Chay’s wide and surprised eyes.
“I couldn’t stand watching him trying to spend so much time with you, but I knew that you didn’t know. I know that you don’t see yourself like I do, which is ridiculous , so I knew that it wasn’t your fault. There was only so much I could take though, and I couldn’t stand him trying to touch you, buy things for you, spend more time with you, and I lashed out on you.”
Chay looked outright bewildered at his sudden confession. “You were j-jealous? Why would you be jealous? I may be oblivious P’Kim, but I clearly only have eyes for you.”
Kim let out his first real smile in the afternoon. He knew that Chay loved him, but it was nice hearing it.
Now it was time for Chay to hear the truth.
“Angel, you are the most beautiful person ever, inside and out. You are kind and loving and so compassionate. You make everything shine brighter, and I know that everyone else can see that too. I just feel that even though you love me and I love you, you may not need me the way I need you, and seeing you spend so much time with Sun make me fear that you might realise that that was what you want. A normal, innocent love, and it scared the crap out of me.”
Chay looked at him in silence to process what his boyfriend had just said before he sighed and reached out to caress his thumb back and forth on Kim’s jawline. “You are a silly, silly man,” he let out a tiny smile. “I didn’t know that you felt that way. You are more than what you think of yourself, and I fell in love with you because of how hard working you are, and how you light up when you are in your element. You think that I need a ‘normal and innocent love’, but why do you think that I’m not having that with you? You may not be a normal person with how your family is, but I don’t need you to be an everyday average student to feel that love. I love you because you are you, P’Kim, and I don’t want or need anyone else.”
Kim didn’t say anything else but gathered Chay into his arms for a tight hug. As time passed in their embrace, Kim could feel the tension releasing as he snuggled into Chay. The younger man pulled away and tilted his chin up so Kim would understand that he wanted a kiss. After pressing four back-to-back kisses, Chay pulled away before wrapping his arms around Kim’s waist and resting his chin on his shoulder.
“I can stop hanging out P’Sun, if it makes you feel better.”
Kim knew that he should feel pleasure from Chay’s words but he felt the opposite, so he shook his head. “No, angel, I don’t want you to stop hanging out with him to make me feel better, especially if you actually found a friend in him. I actually feel so much better now, so I will get over it eventually.”
Chay thought over it with a pout and Kim couldn’t help himself to press a smooching kiss to his cheek. “Okay,” Chay nodded, “but if you think that he likes me, then I will tell him that I’m not interested. I mean, he’s a nice guy or whatever,” he shrugged. “But if he was flirting with me knowing that I have a boyfriend, because I’m sure that I’m obvious about that, then I don’t think that I want to be friends with him.”
Kim nodded, wrapping Chay in one last hug before reaching down to take his notebooks. “Whatever you want, angel,” he said, desperately wanting to change the conversation.
It was nearing evening and that was usually when Kim left to go home. Chay turned to face him once he unlocked the gate and looked up at Kim with a hesitant expression as he fiddled with his keys. He put the keys into his pocket and he bit his lip as he dragged the tips of his fingers up Kim’s neck to play with the ends of his hair “Do you want to stay the night, P’Kim?”
The breath got caught in Kim’s throat. “Are you sure?”
Chay nodded.
“Then I would love to.”
